Hurrying back to check on Nisha, inspecting if anything is amiss but everything looks fine and Elijah is nowhere in sight.
I ask a nurse to check on her as I hurry to the exit.
“Jaden” I called via mind link.
“Someone has been in Nisha’s room I’m on his tail now”
“No Hailey stop return to the hospital he may be dangerous I’ll send a team to find this fucker.
“By then it will be too late,” I say, rushing after him as he crosses the street into the village.
“No Hailey stop! I’m not too far I’ll return” Ignoring Jaden I hurry, increasing my pace in a chase avoiding people, carts, and waste bins along the pavement.
He heads into an alley and I follow after him rushing into a building.i
He stands there like he was waiting for me, a shiver runs down my spine but I don’t flinch.
“Who are you!” I step in closer.
He removes his ski mask revealing his face.
“Aitch what the fuck is your problem.”
“Only to get you here Angel”
“Why? What the hell do you have against Nisha?”
“Nothing actually I want Jaden Perry and you are the bait needed” flicking his fingers two guys hold me forcing me onto a chair.
“Jaden don’t come ” I warn via mind link.
“What’s happening Hailey,” He asks in return I could feel his heart racing
“It’s a trap Jaden they want you”
“Looks like I got his attention” Aitch says, walking to me, giving a heavy blow on my cheek, rocking the chair.
“Hailey!” Jaden yells angrily. As my cheek burned I bit my lip trying to act like it didn’t hurt if Jaden so much as suspected I’m in danger he will come.
” if he lays another finger on you I promise it’s going to be his last day on earth”
“Tell him to come alone or he’ll leave with you dead”
“He’s not coming” I spit begging Jaden inwardly that it is a trap.
“Oh, he will unless he wants to see you dead” Aitch slaps me again same time the door breaks open.
Jaden had arrived.
“Jaden it’s a trap”I yell.
But the look on his face towards Aitch is bloodthirsty.
“Aitch!” Jaden roars, stomping into the room.
Two men hold him back, he easily breaks from their grip hitting them hard they slump to the ground.
More comes and Jaden goes back in combat Aitch the whole time watching the show with an issued smirk.
Jaden takes care of his men without breaking a sweat.
Aitch pulls out a gun clicking the pin pointing right at my head.
I stare at the gun motionless, unable to breathe.
Aitch kills without remorse. I’ve seen a 3d show of this and I am not an exception.
“Why involve her, it’s me you want, face me like a man,” Jaden says gritting his teeth, his eyes hooded as he stares at me on the chair, the fear coursing through both of us in waves.
Aitch walks up to him still edging the gun at me from a distance.
Using the butt of the gun to hit Jaden in the mouth he stumbles back but doesn’t attempt to fight back.
“Coward” He spits blood. ” Hiding behind a gun and the protection of a woman”
“Ha!” Aitch laughs “Jaden for years I’ve been training every goddamn day to get here today” Tossing the gun aside a foot from where I am tied on the chair.
Aitch rips his black shirt from his body, his muscles and bones broadening in his flesh like he was going to explode, making him bulky and huge.
He looks enormous and his eyes change color. I’ve seen Aitch without a shirt and he didn’t look like that.
A mutant stuck morphing into his wolf but stops halfway.
He looked twice the size he was something I’d never seen before but Jaden doesn’t flinch though he stares at him in bafflement, his anger doesn’t let him waver.
Taking a swing at Aitch who laughs at the attempt gripping Jaden on his neck, off his feet throwing him into a wall and slamming into him head to head.
“Jaden!” I yell in horror.
Pulling on the rope it doesn’t budge I bend low using my teeth trying to get myself free as Aitch keeps whacking the hell out of Jaden.
After much struggle, the rope comes loose. I quickly remove the second rope looking back to see Aitch throw Jaden to the ground he bounces off on his ribs and stays still his fingers shaking.
“Jaden!”I yell, ripping the rope off, I grab the gun off the floor.
“Aitch you touch him I’ll squirt your fucking brains on the ground”
“You don’t have It in you Angel” Aitch says looking at me with dread black eyes even his sclera is black making me shiver.
“My… Name..is…Hailey” I say gritting my teeth looking at Jaden as I fire the gun, the force pushing me back a bit. I’ve learned how to shoot a gun in the badlands but the impact and loud bang still made me jump.
I had successfully hit Aitch in his hand. He falls to the ground vomiting out a green liquid not bothering him, I hurry to Jaden’s side.
“Talk to me Jaden” I say, shaking him on my legs.
“Jaden!”I yell, his eyes flutter but he looks weak and bruised.
“Angel” Aitch stands rubbing his hand where the bullet had made contact with his skin.
He had returned to his normal form looking a bit confused.
“You did this, ” I say, blinded by rage. I stand pointing the gun at Aitch.
“Angel don’t shoot there’s something you have to know”
“Ha!” I laugh pained “Now you want to talk are you crazy”
“Angel the crown is back” As he says the word a gun blares in the distance and it’s not from my gun.
“Angel duck,” He tells pulling me down as we head to the corner for safety.
Aitch is bleeding from his stomach applying pressure with his hands, he struggles to breathe.
“What’s wrong Aitch tell your men to back off”
