“Where did you find that?” Ride asks.
“In the warehouse, Aitch was killed” I say sniffling.
Struggling underneath me he pulls to me view the same paper (its dull yellow color and striped texture)
The number ‘2’ on it.
What the hell did this mean?
“It’s the same note.” Ride says both have the same red digit pattern.
“The crown is back” I say quietly.
“What’s the crown?” Ride asks, puzzled.
“If only I knew Ride those fuckees will be buried 6ft under” wiping my eyes I rise from the floor so does Ride.
“We need to head to the park hospital” I need to know how Jaden and Nisha are faring.
As we walk through the pack house a lot of glances bore into Ride, his tattoos and piercing making him stand out he doesn’t look bothered a bit.
“Alpha Jaden, has he been admitted here?” I ask.
“Classified information ” The nurse states without glancing at me.
I glare at her even though she can’t see me and walk into the wards.
“Let me go” Nisha yells trying to drag herself away from the nurse’s grip outside her bedroom door.
“Nisha” I call running in to hug her.
“Nisha I’m so happy you’re alive” I say, holding her face, her eyes bloodshot and puffy. She had been crying.
“Where’s Elijah Hailey,” she asks, her eyes hopeless.
I had no idea when I ran out of Nisha’s room I didn’t spot him.
“Hailey, why are you silently talking to me?” she says sliding down at the foot of the door to the ground.
“He’s fine he’s probably gone to get something” I say attempting to convince her and myself within.
Elijah wouldn’t have left Nisha’s side even if the building was on fire.
“Don’t lie to me Hailey you’re clearly lying about what happened to Elijah”
“I don’t know Nisha I don’t know” Scared of saying this in a public place I helped Nisha to her feet pulling her into her room.
“Hailey I can’t get through to him I’ve been trying he isn’t responding”
“The only thing I know is Elijah stepped into your room after using the restroom I spotted a man running out of your room I’m sorry Nisha”
“No no it’s not your fault Hailey I thought I’ll see him when I fluttered my eyes open but all I saw was this”
She hands me a piece of paper, the same one with the number ‘1’ on it.
“Nisha you need to relax, we will find Elijah” I stop her from pacing. She had just recovered from a fatal accident, she’ll need to rest or exhaust herself.
With a sigh, she slumps to the bed.
“Hailey you don’t get how I feel, it’s so void, like I can’t get to him I feel like he’s still alive and… And at the same time dead Hailey where is Jaden he may know where Elijah is “
I blink back tears that sting in my eyes realizing we all had lost here.
I sit on the bed beside her rubbing her back trying to comfort her when I require that also.
“Jaden… Jaden is hospitalized, he took a bad beating” I explain.
“Jaden?” Nisha says her red eyes widen.
“His Alpha’s ability gives him an advantage stronger than his prey, how… who?”
I look towards Ride who is leaning on the wall gazing down at us.
“Aitch” Ride’s eyes flicker, and I see something rim in his eyes.
“So Jaden killed Aitch?” Ride says, taking his lip piercing in between his teeth.
“No someone else did something else did”
“Like you said Ride these beasts are two times their normal size like mind control robot Aitch had been affected with this too”
“The effect isn’t permanent, he revealed something about a serum, before someone walked in and killed him, something out there is happening, something big and it’s not just our battle the life of the entire lycanthrope world is in danger” I toss the paper to the floor.
“This is their first statement a warning before Aitch died he said something like is going to be unleashed they ain’t done”
“What do they need Elijah for what part do I play in this stupid ploy”

They both stay mute everyone having an internal debate.
“Well, how do we get to this Jaden?” Ride asks.
“I don’t know he’s in the hospital”
“Ward 3 top floor only for royals heavily guarded you won’t be granted access”
“At least we can try”
Ride follows behind me after I made Nisha promise to rest and try to not worry much about Elijah.
I had no idea how to feel about his disappearance, only hope for the best.
Two guards block the entrance of the room, certain it’s Jaden’s room.
“You are not allowed here”
“I’ll stay only for five minutes please.” I plead, “I am the one who found him I am his mate”
They both stare at one another, silent communication.
“You can go in for sixty seconds,” they say simply.
“Thank you so much” I say walking into his room.
