Life’s Spiced Up with Some Werewolf Reads

Chapter 6 – Alice the Reluctant Luna

I could smell the alcohol and the overpowering smell of his lust.

‘Just another annoying human,’ I thought.

“I am not interested,” I said and turned to move away.

“Darling,” the man whispered huskily, “Shall we go back to my place for tonight?” I could feel him pressing his long hard cock against my ass, rubbing it back and forth enticingly.

I wanted to throttle him right there, but we cannot harm humans. There is a law against it.

I pulled away and placed hands on my hips, “Why can’t you understand a simple No. I am engaged.”

“Relax, I was just leaving.” He glanced apologetically at me and left.

I shook my head, annoyed. Someone tapped me on the shoulder, and as I turned around, I heard someone whisper,” Hello? Smells like chloroform to you?” and everything faded into darkness.

I heard the metallic click of handcuffs being closed around my wrists and then around my ankles. Chloroform does not work on werewolves for long. It knocks them out for a few minutes, but that was enough to kidnap me. The shackles were silver-lined. I knew it instantly when I felt it irritating my skin, and I was unable to break them.

I was bound and gagged. I could not move or shift. Likewise, I could not believe this was happening to me. My kidnappers were werewolves. I was getting their scent, and they were probably rogues.

“Throw her phone out,” a voice from the front rasped.

We drove for what seemed like forever. At first, I just felt hands roughly grasping at my breasts and hips. Their hands became rougher until I felt cool air on my belly and chest. I cursed myself, I should have been more careful. My skirt was hitched up while they fondled me. A tear escaped from my eyes.

“Leave her alone,” came a voice from the front of the van again. “If you leave too much scent on her, we won’t get paid.”

I shuddered at his words, someone wanted me kidnapped! I could not connect mentally with anyone from my pack. I was too far away. Werewolves can talk telepathically to each other if they are mates or part of the same pack, but they need to be close to each other.

Fortunately, his words made all the manhandling stop. After what seemed like an eternity, the van came to a halt. I had no idea where I was. The door opened, and I was pulled out and thrown over a very hairy shoulder. My blindfold slid off, and I was looking straight into a mass of fur. It was dark, but the sound of leaves rustling in the wind confirmed I was in the woods somewhere.

My captors walked along. I guessed right; they were rogues.

I was thrown roughly in a cabin. My hands and feet were left bound to a pole. Shivering, I curled into a tight ball. Emma would have known that I am missing. Rick would be in despair. Female wolves are kidnapped either to breed by the rogues or by the Alphas who fancy them.

Was I being kidnapped by my mate? I cringed at the word mate, though my wolf was suddenly calm and eager to meet him again. I did not smell him among these rogues, so I had no idea what was going on. If this was indeed done by that green-eyed jerk! I would never forgive him.

‘Oh yes, you will,’ my wolf said.

Voices filled the cabin for several minutes. Then I heard the engine start-up, and it sounded like the van was driving away. I listened; barely breathing, waiting for what I was sure was coming. The dull thud of boots on the floor came back to the door and stopped. I heard voices.

“Why not just kill her?” the first voice whispered, “It’s what she asked us to do.”

“Are you crazy!” came the second voice quietly, “She is Alpha Rick’s sister. She is an unmated Alpha female. Do you know many would be eager to pay whatever we demand?”

“So, we’ll sell her?”

“That depends on who pays the highest. Alpha of the Shark moon pack has been looking for a female for years, his mate is barren!”

I cringed at those words and cursed the day I decided to return. I tried to understand why I was here. It was not because of my mate. This came as a relief to me.

‘I told you he is not a bad person,’ my wolf cooed.

I rolled my eyes, here I was stuck in a cabin, I could either be killed or raped or sold. Yet, I could not stop thinking about him. There was unexpectedly a deep sadness in me when I thought about never seeing him again. A few more hours passed, and I dozed off.

I was woken by the sounds of commotion.

Shadows crossed the little windows in front of the cabin. Ragged curtains prevented me from seeing who was out there. Fear had me clinging to the pole I had been tied to. Expecting the worst, I curled in a corner, closing my eyes. I braced myself for the worst. I would not give up without fighting.

The door crashed open revealing a tall figure. He crossed the room in three large steps and came to rest directly in front of me. He was dressed in a tight black t- shirt and black cargo pants. His black boots were caked with mud, and he looked furious.

‘My mate!’, my wolf sang in happiness while I stared at him in disbelief.

His hand came up to gently stroke my cheek and I felt his lips on my hair as he removed my gag.

“You! You did this to me?” My voice cracked. It was more of a question than a statement.

“Thank God you are safe,” he whispered.

I looked up into his eyes, “Who are you?”

I realized I did not even know his name. He smiled. I noticed he had dimples. My heart skipped a beat.

“I am sorry, we were never properly introduced. I am Lucian Blake of the Crimson Shadow Pack.”

‘What a lovely name,’ my wolf purred.

My face was frozen, and I could not take my eyes off him. I had heard of his pack from Emma. There are two kinds of Alphas.

The good news and the bad news, Crimson Shadow was the bad news. To make matters worse, my brother hated them. I did not know the details, but my wolf had chosen the worst possible mate ever. Though he was hot enough to cause a mini- riot among women if he wanted to.

A moment too late, I realized I was panting and tried to breathe normally. I should be introducing myself as well, my brain said.

“I am Alice Anderson, from the Jade moon Pack. Rick Anderson is my brother.”

“I know,” he replied grimly.

“You know me?” I pretended to be surprised. Though I knew if he came to rescue me, he would have found out everything about me.

“Why did you kidnap me?” I asked fearfully, though I knew the answer. He

reached down and started to turn the handcuffs gently on my bruised wrists.

“Believe me, I didn’t get you kidnapped. Though I admit, I did consider it.” He said gravely.

Was I supposed to feel good about it?

“Then who?” I choked up a little.

“They were rogues, there have been few incidents of rogues kidnapping unmated females, recently. They usually target omegas. It is the first time they targeted an Alpha. Don’t worry, they have been taken care of.”

I knew what he meant. He had killed them, or whatever remained of them.

Suddenly, he pulled me into a tight hug and whispered, “I’m so sorry love, you had to go through this,” into my hair.

Another guy strolled into the small bedroom. I felt claws on my back where Lucian was holding me, and a growl started to resonate in his chest.

“Calm, down boss, she is safe now.” The other guy said.

I tried to break away from the hug, it was all perplexing. He realized my restlessness and released me.

“Wait, what’s going on? I was kidnapped by the roughs, and they were talking about killing me, then selling me….”

His face hardened. “Tell me what happened.”
