Life’s Spiced Up with Some Werewolf Reads

Chapter 38 – Deceiving my Big Bad Alphas (Kai Savage) Novel Free Online Free by Nina P

“Do it.”

They turned.

My fingers found the chain at my neck. The pendant was warm against my chest, humming with magic. One tug, and it slipped free.

A second passed.

Then another.

The air shifted.

I could feel it ripple around me-the sudden spike in tension, the gasps that weren’t fully contained, the growls vibrating from their chests before I even told them they could look.

“You can turn back now.”

They did.

And they froze.

DALTON POV

Fuck, Kai was powerful.

I mean, I knew they were strong-anyone with a functioning brain could feel it rolling off of them in waves-but nothing had prepared me for the raw, electric fury that surged through their skin like lightning incarnate. One second, I was swinging my fist into Derrick’s jaw, adrenaline burning through my veins, and the next, I was kissing the fucking floor with every nerve in my body spasming like a goddamn live wire.

And Kai stood there. Glowing. Drenched in golden light. Unapologetic.

God, they were glorious.

“You messed up,” Shade growled in my head, his voice guttural and dripping with disgust. As if I didn’t already know. As if my chest wasn’t already cracking under the weight of my own mistakes.

I had fucked up.

No one else to blame. I installed the fucking cameras. Not because I wanted to spy-well, okay, yes, I did-but not in the way they thought. It wasn’t about nudity, not entirely. It was about control. About obsession. About needing to know what they were doing when I couldn’t be near them. It was sick, twisted, wrong. I knew that.

I was just too far gone to stop myself.

And now Kai looked at me like I was poison. Like my very presence made their skin crawl.

I couldn’t fucking breathe.

I wanted to rip my own spine out and toss it at my past self. But shame didn’t fix shit. Only actions did. I was going to fix it. Even if it killed me. Even if Kai never forgave me, I was going to make it right.

But of course, Derrick couldn’t shut his fucking mouth.

Had to start roaring about how Kai was *his*. Possessive little alpha fucker. And now Kai was awake, furious, and letting the storm loose. And there I was, butt naked, hard as fuck, staring at a blank wall while my wolf tried to claw his way out of my skull.

“You deserve this,” Shade snapped.

Yeah. I did.

But then Kai said they were going to reveal their truth.

Something inside me froze.

Then cracked open.

I knew. Even before they reached for the chain around their neck, I knew.

The golden wolf. The one the Hollowed Moon Twins were talking about. And I knew, they were going to die, slowly, painfully. And I was going to enjoy it.

The only being with a scent that could drive me and my wolf to madness. The one destined for me. Only for me.

And they were here. In this room. In front of me.

Kai.

My obsession.

My fucking mate.

If I said I was happy, would you blame me?

Of course I was happy. I was about to get a sliver of my sanity back. And maybe-just maybe -a second chance. Not forgiveness. I didn’t deserve that. But maybe a future.

Was I going to show it?

Not my call.

Shade was already pacing, snarling, his claws scraping at the edge of my mind.

Mine

Ours

Take them

He was going to lose control if I didn’t stay grounded. He wanted to claim Kai in the most primal way possible. Mark them. Bind them. Make sure no other wolf could ever look at them without feeling our dominance.

And I couldn’t deny the dark part of me that wanted the same.

But the moment that pendant came off, everything changed.

I knew I had been right this whole time. Kai was a girl-not that it ever made her less dangerous, or less divine. Just… mine.

The scent hit me like a freight train. Not just powerful, but divine. Sweet and wild and sharp like lightning cutting through storm clouds. She smelled like sunflowers, grass and summer storms.

My d**k twitched with interest, and Shade let out a howl so guttural I swore I heard it in the physical world.

“Mate,” Shade roared inside me, primal and ecstatic.

A split second later, Derrick’s wolf screamed the same. “Mate!”

Loud. Unapologetic. Possessive.

I turned to him, fury rising like bile.

“Liar.” My voice was a growl, guttural and tight. “Don’t you fucking dare.”

Derrick snarled, his lip curling. “You think you’re the only one feeling this?” His eyes flared crimson. “I knew it the second that scent hit me. She’s mine.”

“She’s not yours, you son of a-“

“Don’t even finish that sentence.” His voice dropped to a deadly purr. “You think sniffing around her like a goddamn creep makes you worthy? You’re pathetic.”

I lunged.

So did he.

And then static surged again, searing and brutal, tossing both of us back like ragdolls.

We hit the floor, gasping, twitching.

And Kai stood in the middle of the room, radiating that same fucking golden fury, like a goddess deciding whether or not to strike us dead where we knelt.

Her voice sliced through the tension.

“Enough.”

Just one word, but it made my wolf drop like a scolded pup. Shade whimpered and pulled back, retreating from the edge of madness.

I looked up-slowly. My vision still danced with sparks.

Kai’s expression was thunderclouds wrapped in silk.

“I swear to the fucking moon goddess, if either of you even breathes another possessive word right now, I’ll fry your d***s until they curl like bacon.”

Silence.

Stunned, breathless silence.

She crossed her arms. Her voice was velvet over razors. “Behave.”

Derrick let out a shaky breath.

I didn’t dare speak. Shade had gone deathly still in my head, ears low, tail tucked.

She hadn’t raised her voice.

She hadn’t needed to.

Because we felt it.

The threat behind her words wasn’t empty.

It was holy.
