Life’s Spiced Up with Some Werewolf Reads

Chapter 60 – Deceiving my Big Bad Alphas (Kai Savage) Novel Free Online Free by Nina P

“She can take it,” I muttered. Even though I wanted to jump in and rip his arm off for touching her. “We blow her cover now, she’ll never forgive us.”

Another blow. She staggered.

But didn’t fall.

She never fucking fell.

Leo laughed. “That all you’ve got, Savage? Thought the prodigy had teeth this morning- guess that was just for show.”

She didn’t answer. Just rolled her shoulders back, spat blood onto the mat, and surged forward again.

A blur of motion.

A high knee, a pivot, a sweep. She clipped him in the jaw. He stumbled. She used it. Threw her weight into a spinning back kick that drove into his side.

The sound was beautiful.

Shade growled in satisfaction. “That’s our girl.”

But Leo wasn’t done.

He started pulling from his bloodline. Using his wolf strength.

He was drawing on it. Letting it flow through him. Enhancing his reflexes, his force, his resilience.

Kai didn’t.

She held herself back. Like a queen playing mortal, refusing to use her true strength.

Because she didn’t want him to know.

Didn’t want to draw attention.

Didn’t want to blow her careful web of lies.

It made me want to claw my eyes out. Seeing her cornered and holding back-it drove me insane.

Just couldn’t….

He landed another hit. Then another. Her lip split. Her shoulder slammed into the mat.

She gasped, pushed up, kept going.

Every time he knocked her back, she rose stronger.

And then it happened.

She unleashed.

A combo so fast I couldn’t even process it. A shoulder feint, a grapple flip, a double palm to his sternum that made him gasp.

Then her foot drove into his gut. Then his side. Then

Right between his legs.

He grunted, doubling over, but she didn’t stop.

Used his momentum against him. Rolled him. But he was bigger. Stronger. He shifted mid-air, reversed her pin, slammed her onto the mat with his full weight.

I stood.

Shade surged, snarling. My canines burned behind my lips, fury clawing up my throat.

Derrick’s hand grabbed my wrist. “Dalton. No.”

Leo straddled her thighs. Chest heaving. One hand pinning her wrist. The other pressing

down on her shoulder.

Their faces were inches apart.

And then-

His eyes widened.

Like something just clicked.

Like he saw something he wasn’t supposed to.

A glimmer.

A flicker.

The glow in her eyes.

And Kai, beneath him, wasn’t looking scared.

She was smiling. Cold. Beautiful. Like a knife hidden in silk.

Leo opened his mouth.

And in that split second, I felt it.

A shift in the air.

A truth unraveling.

Whatever he was about to say… was going to be a problem.

I stepped forward.

Shade roared.

Derrick moved with me.

Our mate was lying under a ticking bomb.

And the fuse had just been lit.

KAI POV

My breath was ragged. My ribs screamed. Blood trickled down my lip and into my mouth, sharp and metallic.

I should have stayed down.

But I didn’t know how.

Another strike. Another rotation. I caught him in the side with the ball of my foot. Then again -faster, harder. His grunt was music, but not enough. He was bigger. Built like a tank. Power through and through.

I shifted my weight, feinted left, ducked under his block. My elbow slammed into his ribs, then I twisted-foot sweeping out, trying to take him down.

Almost.

But almost wasn’t enough.

He countered mid-air. That bastard had reflexes like a cat on steroids.

I hit the mat.

Hard.

My shoulder cracked against it with a dull thud, air bursting from my lungs. And before I

could roll out, he was on me.

One knee on my thigh, his chest pressing mine down. One hand pinning my wrist to the mat, the other gripping my shoulder like he was staking a claim.

Too close.

Too heavy.

Too fucking smug.

His face was right above mine. His breath smelled like mint and ego.

I could feel it in his weight-he thought he’d won.

And then I saw it.

That flicker in his eyes. That second of hesitation. Like something just… clicked.

He was staring at me.

Not like a trainer checking his student. Not like a professor checking for signs of injury.
