Life’s Spiced Up with Some Werewolf Reads

Chapter 69 – Deceiving my Big Bad Alphas (Kai Savage) Novel Free Online Free by Nina P

He looked like someone had just handed him the universe wrapped in a bow. Like he couldn’t believe she was there-on him, wrapped around him-after the fight, after the nightmare, after everything.

He didn’t say a word. Just exhaled slowly and pulled her into his arms, squeezing her gently, reverently, like he could mold her into his bones.

I held my breath.

She didn’t electrocute him-though the risk was high. She didn’t shove him off-still a good probability.

Nope.

She nuzzled deeper into his chest, sighing like a kitten curling into her favorite blanket.

Dalton made a sound in his throat-low, rumbly.

The bastard was purring.

I rolled my eyes but smiled anyway, leaning in closer until my mouth brushed her ear. “You’re not forgetting someone, are you, little mouse?” I whispered.

She shivered.

Her golden eyes fluttered open and met mine, locking in that sleepy, half-aware way that made my heart skip a beat. Then she lifted one arm, still clutching Dalton with the other, and opened the space between them like a damn queen summoning her second knight.

Well. Don’t have to ask me twice.

I slid in against her, one hand curling around her waist, the other resting on Dalton’s ribs. He tensed for a heartbeat-still not used to me being this close, but he didn’t pull away.

Actually… it felt weirdly perfect.

Kai in the middle, her limbs wrapped around both of us like a human octopus. Me pressed against her back, Dalton at her front. Heat. Heartbeats. Her scent. His strength. Our bond.

It shouldn’t work.

But fuck me-it felt like the safest, softest, most right place I’d ever been.

“Are we good?” I asked, eyes fixed on Dalton’s. No joking. No grin. Just the truth.

He stared at me, serious as hell. Then nodded once.

“We are.”

“Better be the truth,” Kai muttered without opening her eyes. “Or I’m frying both your asses.”

Ah. And just like that, we were back to square one.

I snorted-until I caught something else.

Her scent.

Oh no.

That wasn’t sleep.

That was arousal.

Thick. Warm. Potent.

“Now, now, naughty girl…” I murmured, lips grazing her neck. “Does thinking about our asses get your panties wet?”

Dalton groaned, but not in protest. “Careful,” he said, voice low, eyes blazing, “cause if you say the word, sunshine, you can see and touch everything.”

Kai blinked, suspicious. “Sunshine?”

He nodded, brushing his thumb across her cheek.

“Yeah. ‘Cause when you smile… it drags all the darkness out of me. You’re my sunshine, babe.”

Cheesy as fuck. And yet… it worked. Damn him.

She blinked again.

Didn’t kill him.

Didn’t zap him.

She kissed him.

And damn it if my heart didn’t do something stupid again.

KAI POV

“You’re my sunshine, babe.”

The words hit me like a punch to the chest. Not because they hurt-but because they split something open.

Sunshine.

Gods, what kind of cheesy-ass, soul-stripping, heart-melting line was that?

And why the fuck did it work?

I blinked, slow and dumb, my brain skipping like a scratched record. One second I was wrapped in heat and skin and the soft hum of morning breath, and the next my mind was screaming in fourteen languages while my wolf howled behind my ribs.

Sunshine?

My first instinct-my default-was to scoff. Laugh. Maybe zap him just for being that soft in the morning. Goddess, the man used to terrify entire Alpha circles, and now he was purring under me and calling me sunshine like we lived in a fucking fairy tale?

But then I looked at him.

Really looked.

And I saw it. That glow in his eyes-not from power or dominance or even lust. No. It was something quieter. Rarer.

Hope.

Love.

Fear.

And maybe I was tired of pretending I didn’t feel it too.

Maybe I was done hiding behind sarcasm and banter and half-formed threats to keep myself from feeling everything I’d buried under the weight of alpha responsibilities and

world-shattering decisions.

Summer stirred inside me, bold and smug. ‘Took you long enough. Now jump on his godsdamned bones.’

I didn’t hesitate.

I moved.

My hand curled around his jaw, nails digging into the sharp angle of his cheekbone. I kissed him like I was claiming territory. Like he was air and fire and the edge of something primal I needed more than reason.

He gasped-but only for a second.

Then he met me.

Tongues, teeth, heat. It wasn’t soft. It wasn’t slow. It was a fucking battle.

My body pressed flush to his, my chest molded against his chest, hips arching down until I felt him-hot, hard, and very much awake beneath me. Dalton growled into my mouth, his hands clawing at my hips, trying to take control of the kiss.

No.

Not today.

This was mine.

They were mine.

I rocked my hips once, slow and intentional, dragging a low, desperate sound from his throat.

The kind of sound that sent lightning curling along my spine.

And then I felt it-hands on my ribs, warm and steady, sliding up with the reverence of a man touching sacred ground.

Derrick.

My skin shivered under his palms. My breath hitched. That one simple touch poured gasoline on the fire already burning between my thighs.

A moan slipped into Dalton’s mouth before I tore away from him-panting, feral, drunk on the taste of him and the pulse of power in my chest.

“Fuck,” Dalton whispered, voice wrecked, eyes completely wrecked.

But I didn’t answer.

I turned.

Derrick’s eyes were wide, dark gold with a hint of hesitation-but also want. Hunger. Need.
