Life’s Spiced Up with Some Werewolf Reads

Chapter 8 – Belladonna The Rejected Luna

She had left him, left his pack, as quietly as she’d been brought into it, only now there was a deficit to his pack and he knew it. She’d been an amazing Luna, she just hadn’t wanted to be that, had no choice about it, forced to be here by not only her father, but himself as well.

He wondered what she thought about his reasons for choosing her over her sisters or did she think he had no choice in the matter? Her father had not really had a choice in it, he’d had to present all of his children, he wouldn’t be taking just any wolf from that pack. Only one of the Alpha’s children could see a full deal that was reliable to be struck by that man.

Though he had seen her two sisters, and technically the eldest daughter should have been attached to that mating alliance, he’d rejected her and her sister, asked where his third daughter was and had made that man present her. He’d not wanted to, or didn’t appear to want to, so she was likely to be the best option for a mating alliance. Then laying eyes upon her, her sisters were pretty, but they were nothing like Belladonna standing there quietly next to them, she’d been lovely to look at. To him, much more beautiful than her two sisters, she’d not been wearing any make-up, and he didn’t think it was because she’d scrubbed it off.

It had taken nearly 40 minutes for her to arrive. She’d followed the Luna into the Alpha’s office, she’d come from the pack hospital and had been wearing a set of scrubs, been at work even on their first meeting.

Her father had told him his eldest was the one that needed to go on the mating alliance, but the Luna had stated if he wanted the youngest, then that was what he would get. The Alpha and Luna had been at odds over it, and it had been the Luna that had gone and gotten Belladonna and presented her to him.

Stated she was the best option if he expected the Mating alliance to be held up. That she aspired to be a pack doctor, was completing a residency and, despite being the Alpha’s youngest daughter and not the oldest, as it would sometimes normally be, she was the most promising of his daughters. So the one that was the most fitting for a pack dealing.

It may have been her father that suggested a mating alliance to stop the s*******r he’d seen coming, but Parker had only agreed to it, if those wolves he’d been hunting for and found were in that pack of his, forced to be there a long time ago, were released to him as well, and to make that man stick to the deal he would also get to choose the she-wolf to be mated off to him.

He’d actually chosen Belladonna to be his Mate and Luna, because she’d been beautiful and clearly intelligent, would be an asset to his pack, and likely the only one of his daughters that mand had’t wanted to give up.

Now all he could do was set her free and hope he would come across her one day and see her happy, healthy, and doing what she loved to do. That she would find her Goddess-Gifted and get to be all loved up, have a family of her own. Though he didn’t relish seeing her with a child or children of her own, not when he’d wanted pups with her, and she’d not with him.

Parker stood and headed for his suite. He’d had a long and painful day; his chest still ached from their rejection, and he knew Belladonna was right in her statement of if he went and Marked and Mated his Goddess-Gifted Mate, Carina. That his pain would vanish instantly. Though the memories would still be there, the love he felt, that wouldn’t vanish overnight. No, it would just see the pain of their bond being severed would go away; that was all.

His new Mate, would be all consuming for him and his beast as well, so this would help with getting over Belladonna. He sighed as he walked up the stairs. Perhaps it was time to go and do that. Maybe he just needed to accept Carina in order to get over what was no longer his. Had he now realised, never been his; not for a single second of the time she was here, marked and mated by him.

Belladonna

She was settled inside her hotel room in Oklahoma City.

She had found one with a 24hour check in, thankfully.

She was too tired to go driving around for too long, though her car was very nice to drive, almost too comfortable for her tired body.

Two hours of sleep, in 38 hours she was really pushing it.

She’d showered in the pack hospital due to Becky having haemorrhaged right after her daughter was born, though both she and Annette had both been there and prepared for it, nothing ever seemed to go right for Becky.

They”d delivered that baby in the surgical bay just in case, and had extra staff at the ready.

Annette managed to stop the bleeding through a surgical procedure where Becky had been transfused two pints of blood and stabilised; Bella had taken care of the pup while that was going on, it had not been breathing when born, and she’d re sussed the tiny little thing.

She had taken the time to fil out that pups birth records, while Becky was still undergoing surgery.

Though it had been hard to watch her mate prowl around anxiously during that surgery, they’d picked a name for their little girl, Peace.

Hoping their daughter would come into the world peacefully without any complications at all.

Not so lucky on that front.

She’d pulled on clean scrubs at the hospital and left in them, but not until she knew Becky was okay.

She had arrived here at her hotel and was now just flopped down face first on the hotel bed with her eyes closed, new she was going to fall asleep in short order.

Freya was already curled up and asleep inside her mind.

She muttered into the pillow her face was buried in, she still had one more rejection to attend to.

She might as well do it now, she hoped he wasn’t asleep, or having s * x, he would feel it, he felt every pack member sever from him as she had once done when she’d been his Luna.

She wouldn’t feel it anymore, it wasn’t a nice feeling.

She rolled over on to her back and stared up at the darkened ceiling and issued her rejection of the Lustrous Moon Pack and Alpha Parker Hartly as her Alpha.

She hissed in pain and Freya lifted her head and snarled at her.

For the pain it caused both of them, and there was that weird echo that sometimes happened inside her mind when her wolf felt pain, when her wolf hurt it was almost as if she heard two wolves in pain.

It was weird, but she’d gotten used to it, had thought amusingly one day that maybe her head was just completely empty and that was why there was an echo; she was a female rogue now.

I finally claimed her sleep, and she slept like the dead, all night long and half the next day, woke up just after lunchtime and 12 hours of sleep; she’d needed it.

She woke up well rested and stretched out in her big bed, smiled to herself.

No more would her sleep be interrupted by Parker, when he was in the mood to have s * x, and crawled into her bed late at night.

That was a nice feeling.

No more would she go into heat again, or have to suffer the pain of it if he wasn’t in the pack.

It was just her and Freya now, until they found their own Goddess Gifted Mate.

No longer were they owned by anybody, nor did they have a father or an Alpha that could just hand them over to another.

She had no one to be responsible for, except for herself, no one to rely on her to get things done and no one to tell her what to do.

Bella changed and ordered room service, then just spent the rest of the day lazing on the couch in that hotel room staring at the TV, doing absolutely nothing for the first time since she’d been taken to the Lustrous Moon.

She’d not been outside the pack in eight years, and she wondered what the world was like, what she should expect from it.

Though she wasn’t going to be staying here in Oklahoma, no, she was only an hour from the pack up on Carl Blackwell Lake, it was too close for her.

She was going to move away, and she wasn’t going to go anywhere near her home pack either, nope move away in the other direction altogether, to start a new life for herself.

She would find someplace where nobody knew who she was, and she didn’t have to concern herself with her past.

Though she was probably going to be required to state who her previous Mate was, to the new Alpha, explain why she was a rogue even.

She didn’t exactly know.

Parker had dealt with all those things, she’d never been in his office for him to initiate new wolves, be they rogues or newly mated into the pack.

That was his job and not part of hers.

By 6pm it was kind of weird to not be needed by anyone, have no one connect a mind link to her and ask her questions, or call her to the packs hospital.

It was very quiet inside of her mind.

Though at times she just lay there and smiled to herself, knowing that she nor her wolf had any cares in the world right now, that they could just do absolutely nothing at all.

Though she was not at all used to having nothing to do all day long, she realised.

She’d worked every single day inside that pack after being Mated to Parker.

She shook it off and had to stop thinking about him and his pack.

They did not concern her anymore, she reminded herself, and showered and lay in her bed once more.

It was weird, she realised, after an hour of just lying there, she was actually accustomed to Parker strolling into her suite every other day to crawl into her bed and have his way with her.

It had been many days now since she had sex, and she knew a part of her was awake because she was half expecting him to step into this room, and she would watch him strip off naked and crawl into her bed, claim her mouth among other things.

She had an itch herself, she realized, and was thinking about sex because she wanted to have it, and now couldn’t, because she didn’t have a mate to come in here, and give her all that tingly mate bond goodness and pleasure, for hours on end.

She had to push that thought aside, roll over and stared out the window into the night until she fell asleep.

Got up in the morning and needed something to do, and she knew it.

So, she headed out of the hotel and did some shopping.

She needed a laptop to be able to continue her studies and log professional development points to maintain her doctor’s degree.

She also needed that for finding a job.

She could do that on her phone, she supposed, but if she was going to be tying up letters she needed a laptop.
