Chapter 13 – Belladonna The Rejected Luna

I’m not wearing them, if that is what you expect.

She’d folded her arms across her chest and shaken her head no.

Your clicking around in heels is killing my wolfs hearing.

Then lay carpet.

I’m not giving up my heels for you.

she’d told him and walked away, muttered something about shoes like that were for Omegas.

The only time she was quiet was when she was sleeping.

It seems his peaceful, quiet life had gone out the window with Carina being his Luna.

She was very vocal in voicing her likes and dislikes, wants and needs.

Regardless of where she was or who it was aimed at.

To the point where he’d gotten in his car and gone into the city an hour away to get some peace and quiet and some work done.

He knew that he should stay close to her because she’d go into heat soon, and he needed to be there for that, to sort out her needs.

But he also needed peace and quiet to focus on his job, to make the multitude of phone calls he had to make every day to manage his conglomerate, and he just couldn’t get it in the packhouse.

Belladonna had never clicked around in heels, that woman had run through that pack a million times, and he’d barely heard it, sneakers on all the time.

Not even in his Alphas office could he get peace and quiet.

He’d close the door to indicate he didn’t want to be interrupted, his pack knew better, but Carina would just barge on it when she wanted to, didn’t even knock, just banged the door open, and only held her tongue if he was on the phone mid-conversation.

He’d found himself glaring at her quite a bit and when he got off the phone she’d still be standing there You need a do not disturb sign.

She’d stated after the fourth time she’d done it.If the door is closed, there’s a reason for it.It stands open if Im not busy.

He’d told her.

Well, I dont know your rules.

Ive given you the packs handbook, and weve discussed the door being closed before.

Oh, I forgot.

She’d shrugged it off. She never really wanted anything important, just to know where he was, or who he was talking to, he thought, and she could do that with a simple mind link or check of the pack tether, but never did.

Now after last night, he was even more frustrated with her.

He had lost his first she wolf, during a difficult childbirth; the first one in eight years.

It had not only devastated that family, but Annette was also down and out right this minute, she’d sobbed down the mind link not one in eight years.

He’d gone off to see her, and she’d looked up at him with a shake of her head not one was struggling with it herself.

The she wolves family were also devastated, and her mate was now grieving.

He’d heard from Shannon whod gone down and tried to help out with it at Annettes request, that her mate had sobbed from his place on the floor why isnt Bella here, she could have stayed as a pack doctor.

Why did the Alpha send her away? He had looked up at Shannon grief stricken, hadnt, from Shannons knowledge, even held his new pup yet.

The mans mother was holding the little baby girl.

That man, one of his warriors, now had to deal with the loss of his Mate, and try to raise their two pups on his own, a three-year-old son and a newborn daughter, whom he could barely look at right this minute.

His own warrior blamed him, his Alpha, for the loss of his pup, because Belladonna had been their Luna and the one to deliver all their babies safely.

They’d not lost one in the entire time she’d been here and now that she was gone, because they weren’t Mates anymore, and just two days after she left, they’d lost a she-wolf in childbirth.

They all believed he’d sent her away, rejected her and turned her out of his pack.

He’d gone and tried to talk to the man himself only to have him state You new Luna is useless and doesn’t care.

He’d not understood that and gone off to find out about what he’d meant, only to find out from Annette that Carina had been asked by Annette herself, to come down to the hospital and help with the delivery, use her Lunas Calm, they were expecting it to be a difficult birth.

To which Carina stated I’m not going into a delivery room, I’m not a doctor, and I don’t deliver babies.

Call the Gamma.

He’d gone off to talk to her himself about that very response.

She’d looked at him.

It was late by this stage, and she was in their bed, sleeping comfortably.

He’d had to wake her, she’d not even, from what he could tell, done a Luna Blessing or tried to comfort those in the hospital.

It was at this point all on Shannon.

You didnt go and help at the hospital.

A she wolf has died,he’d rapped out.

That’s up to the Goddess, not me.

she’d yawned Im not a doctor.

What did you expect me to do? Go and perform a miracle.

A Lunas Calm can’t save a life.

She shook her head, and then slid her eyes over him and stated Seeing as youre here and were both now awake, lets have sex.

He’d not understood her.

Its your job as the Luna to give blessings and help the grieving families.

I don’t know how to do a blessing, wasn’t taught how, by the former … she trailed off and then stated I suggest you go and give an Alpha’s blessing, and I don’t do well with grief, or cry babies.

She’d shaken her head, Best you just let the Gamma handle that.

He had stared at her uncomprehendingly, and she’d flicked the sheets back and stated Get in, Parker had shaken his head in disbelief, turned and walked from the bedroom.

It might be late, but if he had grief stricken wolves he had to be there to deal with them, though before he did that he made his way to the Lunas office and looked at it.

There in the center of the desk was the Lunas guide book that he himself had given to Belladonna to learn her duties from, seeing as there was no Luna here for her to learn from when she’d come here.

It didnt even look like it had been opened by Carina, though she knew where this office was.

He’d walked her to it, told her it was the Lunas office.

Parker walked over and picked that book up, opened the front cover and there was Belladonnas name and the date she’d looked at it.

He’d put that in there, a small page where all the future Lunas could put their names and the year they’d become the Luna to the pack.

There were enough lines for 15 generations.

He’d thought it was a nice idea for the new Luna to be able to see who the previous Lunas were.

He’d taken it to their suit and held it out to her, then left her there in the bed to make his way to the pack hospital himself.

She’d been uncaring even the next morning, and so he’d left the pack to go to his human world office to get a break from her, had heard her coming clicking down the staircase and gotten up Up he’d stated to his unit the minute he’d heard those heels were going to the city.
