Chapter 41 – Belladonna The Rejected Luna

It was going to be that simple.

He had really tried over the years, hadnt rejected what the Goddess had given him, but sometimes he really wished he had.

She should have known by now that he would restrict her monetary access; he’d done it before on many occasions.

He also put a restriction in place for when she got back as well, so she could not transfer funds from the pack to anyone, so that they could give them to her in return and avoid his limiting her spending, he’d seen her do that before, and every purchase from within the pack she made, that was over $ 500 was now going to be flagged by his pack accountant.

He did not know many Lunas that travelled the world on their own, without their Alphas permission and a full warrior escort.

Parker wouldn’t mind so much if Carina had waited until he was back inside the pack, discussed it with him first, and he organised a detail of warriors to go with her.

He mind linked to Katie, Did Carina take an escort? he asked.

I have her travel details; I insisted on that, Parker She sighed.

Can you please bring them to me he asked, She did, and he read them over, a one way first class ticket and a suite at the Hyatt Grand Central.

He saw the modelling offer, it was just a one day shoot, and the fee wasn’t going to cover her flights, let alone a suite.

He glanced at his watch and saw that the shoot would be over by now.

He checked her card, she’d not yet bought a returned flight.

She was going to stay longer than the job.

He even knew why.

She was going to go shopping for the latest New York fashion.

He texted her When will you be coming home? When I want to.

I’m the Luna to the pack, not some everyday wolf.

You can’t push me around.

He stared at those words, and damned near tossed his phone across the room, she could be a good Luna, if and when she wanted to be.

But her modelling career it seemed, was more important to her than their pack right that minute, showing him that entitled side of her that he really didn’t like.

He’d thought Goddess Gifted Mates were supposed to help each other become better people, but it didn’t seem that was ever going to happen with his Mate.

He tossed his phone on his desk and left her to it.

She was about to get a violent shove back into reality by him.

Not something he’d had to do in over two years now.

She’d learned the hard way more than once over the past eight years that he did follow through on punishments for infractions, and had, he thought, put the pack first, as he did.

Right now, he understood that she did not, had likely just bided her time to make him think that after their last major fight over her entitlement issues.

He walked down to accounting and had the packs accountant pull up her complete income since she’d become his mate; went over it, frowned at Bryce, she was not even contributing to the pack, like everyone else that worked, he questioned Bryce about that right away.

No, she doesn’t.

I did deduct the usual 10 % that is required from her first modelling job.

He pointed it out to Parker, She pitched a fit about it.

Told me she was exempt from that fee, because she was the Luna.

Parker frowned Give me all of her transactions for the past eight years.

He asked, and it was printed out and handed to him; again, he frowned What is this? he asked, pointing to many cash transfers to a bank account.

What it looks like, happens about once every two months, transfers five to ten thousand out.

You didn’t query it? And to who.

Parker asked.

Hm, again.

She’s the Luna.

Has access to pack funds to distribute how she sees fit.

The first one flagged me, was 15 thousand about a week after you mated each other.

Two weeks later, she was officially your Luna with the ceremony.

She has since dropped it down under the flagging limit.

What’s it for? And who’s it too? Parker huffed; the man had not answered that the first time.

Youd have to ask her Alpha … Im not at liberty to say any more than I have now.

Parkers eyes moved from the papers, right to Bryce, Not at liberty to tell your Alpha what he wants to know … he thought about that for only a moment and realised what was going on.

You’re under a Luna’s order then, to not tell me.

Bryce said nothing, just stared at him and Parker understood that, yes, Carina had come in here and Luna ordered him not to tell the Alpha of her stealing money from the pack.

Tally it all up for the eight years and give me a figure, He muttered.

Sat and waited it out, watched that man do just that and then write it down on a piece of paper and slide it across the table to him, avoiding the pain of that order by not saying it out loud $ 568,000 Half a million dollars.

He grated out, what the hell was going on? He had never thought she would go to that length, and right from the moment they were mated to each other, as well.

He should never have accepted her even though she was his Goddess Gifted mate.

She had been deceiving him for their entire mate bond.

The question now was who did that money go to, and why was it going to them.

Eight years of deceit.

She’d never loved him, not for a single second, he now realised.

No, it was just about who he was and the pack funds she’d have access to.

He’d been so stupid, he was normally a very careful man about who was here in the pack.

But his pain at losing Belladonna had been too much, and he’d used that Goddess Gifted mate bond to try and get over it.

When he should have suffered through it, and been diligent about Carina, like he’d thought to be when bringing her here for that month; he’d had doubts right from the get go, but ignored them in the end, to try and get over his pain of his severed mate bond.

It was no ones fault but his own, it seemed, he’d done this to himself.

Bella

She stood in Alpha Aston’s office looking at the six small children, that had just been brought into the pack by the Wolfen Council. Saved from the black market and though they were washed and in clean clothes, they were all underfed and malnourished.

The smallest of them was just three years old and Bella sighed internally as she hunkered down and looked at them all.

“I’m Bella, the pack doctor.” She told them and looked at each one of them in turn, smiling gently.

“I’ve initiated them all, Bell.” Aston told her. “But not yet allocated them families.”

“It’s too soon for that,” Patrick stated “From where they came from an adjustment period and trust building will need to done.”
