When, in fact, he’d taken Carina as his mate because Belladonna had left him and told him to Mark and Mate Carina.
She hadnt cared about it at all, was happy to rid herself of him, when all he’d been doing was trying to elicit some sort of jealous or angry response to seeing the girl.

He was just getting up to turn in for the night when a bunch of kids ran down the road from the far left side of the packhouse, heading away from him and down into the town, he thought.
Then there was Belladonna chasing them all, so many boys and girls, a dozen of them all in a group.
He and Vex were trying to pick up which child was theirs.
He or she was definitely among that group.
There were three alpha blooded children, and he picked up the distinct scent of a pure blood.
But they were too far from him and all racing away together.
It had to be the pure blood, but he didn’t know which child that was from over here.
There were two older looking boys and several around the eight or nine mark and at least one of those girls could pass for that age group as well.
A dozen children and four of them looked to be about the right age.
All roughly the same height.
Though he knew one of those alpha bloods he could smell was Milly, her daughter.
I dont know, he muttered when his whole unit turned and looked at him questioningly, they’d not come passed him close enough for him to pick it.
Though she had to know if he came face to face with the child that kin bond was going to kick in, and she’d have some explaining to do.
They, however, were all laughing, including Belladonna herself, as she chased them about, she definitely didn’t care at all about him being here.

Belladonna was not at all concerned about how he would react to finding out about this news.
He wondered if that was because she knew him, he wasn’t a tyrant, was generally fair and logical minded, stuck to his contracts, rarely rose to temper, though the one time she’d seen his temper, had been over her not wanting to have a pup with him.
So shouldnt it concern her that he’d be mad about it now, considering she’d had a pup to him and kept it from him.
Kept that child for herself.
The woman had to know that he would want his heir inside of Lustrous Moon with him.
He was frowning deeply, maybe that was just it.
She had gotten her freedom from him and didn’t want to be tied to him once more.
A pup between them would do that and she knew it.
So, she’d opted not to tell him about it.
He stalked away back inside the packhouse, he couldn’t confront her in front of all those children, it was clear to him, she was in charge of them right this minute.
Though he’d never once seen her chase kids around his pack, play with them, yes, but not like that.

He found Alpha Aston sitting in the foyer with his unit and two of the other Alphas just chatting casually, cleared his throat and interrupted them Sorry to interrupt Alpha Aston, but may I have a word with you please, in private? About? Aston asked right back.
Belladonna, he stated simply.
My pack doctor.
Why? Aston queried.
Is one of your wolves in need of medical attention? No, but I would like it to be in private, please.
Parker muttered, allowing Aston to hear his unhappiness, and some of his annoyance at what was going on out there inside this pack, unbeknownst to him.
Aston excused himself from the group and stood up.
He indicated for Parker to follow him to his office.
Parker stepped into the mans office and found Simon the pack Beta also in there, closed the door behind the three of them.
Frowned right at him.
I keep no secrets from my Beta, not ever.
So, Simon will be staying in this office, Alpha Parker, whether you like it or not, Aston told him.
He just nodded it was actually the norm, he’d have Kane in his office with him if it was his pack, likely have the entire unit in here.
I have scented out my own kin, inside your pack today.
My Heir to be precise, though I have yet to lay eyes directly on the child.
Boy or girl I dont know at this point.
He stated, getting right to the point.
There was no point in delaying it, he needed to get it sorted out and meet his child.
Get an explanation from Belladonna, and this was going to be the safest and likely the quickest way.
Aston raised an eyebrow at him and leaned back on the edge of his desk.
Aston seemed un phased by this news, and he wondered if the man already knew, like his unit suspected he would.
Any Alpha pups coming into a pack with a she wolf, regardless of her rank, should have to state who the father was.
To see if it was going to cause trouble for them; bring war to the pack if that childs father came to claim what was his.
And you want me to do what exactly about that? Aston asked as he looked at his watch, Its quite late, do you expect me to wake all the children in the pack and have them presented to you? he asked, looking back at Parker with a raised eyebrow as if to say Im not going to do that.
No, Parker shook his head, and he did not want that, wouldn’t even do that himself, if this situation arose inside his pack.
There will be no need of that, as I believe I know who the mother is, well actually, there can only be one person, Belladonna, my ex mate.
He informed Aston.
Aston stared at him for a long quiet minute before saying anything, Bells been here for five years now, and youve also seen her here before, on your last visit, what, a year ago now? You didn’t pick up that kin bond the first time you were in the pack? and that little girl of hers I can guarantee is not yours.
No, he nodded, she is not mine.
Though I hear she has two children, from a previous pack member of mine.
I am as confused as you are about this, I assure you.
