Janice was next, “You should take her into the middle of the pack and give her twenty lashes before banishing her.”
Janice can be downright evil sometimes.
Renz and Jessup think banishment is the best option.
Just then, one of the male omegas, Michael, walks up to us. “Al – Alpha.” He says and he is scared. I don’t know why, but I address him.
“Hello Michael. What’s wrong?” I ask him.
“Alpha Austin, I…I… I want to ask when Ceraline will be getting released.” He asks me.
I must say, it takes balls to ask your Alpha when a prisoner is getting released and you are not a ra ed member or warrior.
“I haven’t decided what to do with Ceraline. Why do you want to know about her?” I asked.
“Um, well, I…I… I’m her mate Alpha.” He says. No wonder he is scared to ask me. He wants afraid of what I will do to her.
“You’re her mate?” Rebel interrupts.
“Yes, Luna.” He replies quickly.
“You’re not being completely honest with me Michael.” She says.
te, and he is
“I am her mate. She rejected me but then came back saying she made a mistake noted to be with me.” He says quickly.
“I see. When exactly did she say this to you?” Rebel questions him. Where is she going with this?
“Almost two weeks ago, Luna.” He says.
“How long ago did she reject you?” She continues questioning him.
“About a month ago, Luna.” He replies.
‘Austin, she rejected her mate before I came to the pack and then said she was wrong after I got here. Don’t you find that a bit convenient?” She mind links me.
I start questioning Michael at this point, “Michael, did Ceraline ask you to ‘prove’ yourself worthy in anyway in order to be her mate?” I ask him.
“How do you know, Alpha?” He asks with his eyes widened.
“That’s not important. Tell me, what did she ask you to do in order to prove yourself to her?” I ask.
“Um, well, she asked me to let her know what I hear going on in the pack. I never really had much to give her, except for one time.” He recalls.
“And what exactly did you tell her that one time?” I ask him.
“She seemed really interested in knowing Luna’s previous Alpha was looking for her.” He replied but added, she asked me if I knew who that was, but I didn’t and still don’t.”
Rebel interrupts again, “Do you know why Ceraline is in the cells, Michael?”
“Luna, I was told it was because you don’t like her and want her gone, but she is my mate and if she has to leave, I will go with her.” He says adamantly.
“Well, she is right, I don’t care for her in the slightest, but not for whatever reasons you may have heard, Michael. Perhaps you should sit down. Your betas and gammas saw and heard everything as well as your Alpha. I think it’s time you knew the truth.” Rebel says.
Poor Michael. Let’s hope he finds a second chance mate.
Austin POV
Ceraline had a mate and rejected him? This is news to me. She still tried to come on to me instead of appreciating the Moon Goddess’ gift? It seems that Michael cares deeply about Ceraline and she is too blinded by power and greed.
Michael sits at the table and clearly he is nervous. I guess it’s not every day an Omega is invited to eat with ranked members. It isn’t against to rules to sit with us though. I wonder if the other omegas and non-ranked members are afraid to sit with us? I make a mental note to change that soon. Maybe I will start integrating with the other pack members after the Luna Ceremony. I didn’t realize it until now, but there is not a lot of mingling in the pack.
“Michael, there is no need to be nervous around here. We are your ranked members. We protect our pack,” I begin, “What we are going to tell you is to protect you as well. Please keep that in mind.” I finish.
Michael relaxes a little, “Thank you Alpha.”
I look to Rebel and let her begin. She looks gently at Michael and offers a small smile.
She begins, “Michael, it pains me to say this to you. Ceraline was only using you. She took the information you gave her about me to plot and scheme against me because I’m Austin’s mate.”
“What? No. That’s not right. Ceraline is a good person.” Michael responds. I hear Lacy snort. Michael looks at Lacy.
“Michael, Ceraline is a lot of things, a good person isn’t one of them.” Lacy looks at him with a deadpan look on her face.
“Lacy,” Rebel interrupted, “This is hard enough for Michael.”
She turned back to Michael, “Michael,” she continued, “I’ve only been here for about a coupl three now. In that time, I have had to confront Ceraline multiple times to stay away from m her in the cells was her treason to her Alpha and Luna,” Michael’s eyes went wide, but Reb you told her that my previous Alpha was looking for me, she went to him and offered to he she could try to become Luna of Blackstone.” She finished.
