Life’s Spiced Up with Some Werewolf Reads

Chapter 13 – Emerald Eyed Luna (Nina) Novel Free Online

“Given that you have eliminated the bandits, I will give you the benefit of the doubt for disrespect towards my table. I will allow you two to stay the night and let you go in the morning. I will see my omegas give you each a room to sleep in. Zach, if you would please go with my beta to retrieve your vehicle, then you can take off in it, in the morning.”

I knew we really didn’t have a choice, so I said thank you and watched Zach leave with Beta Al and Alpha Alex left to go to his office. Luna Laura stayed behind and was giving me a motherly look.

“I am sorry about his abrasiveness. We are working on that …” Luna Laura said quietly “I do want to extend our condolences to your recent events. May I ask you a question?”

“Thank you, of course you can.”

“Where did you get that ring?”

Frowning, I absent mindlessly twirling it around my finger with was on top of the table. It was an annoying habit of mine. “It was a gift from my mother on my 16th birthday.

She got it from a woman that was selling things on the side of the street. She said she makes jewelry and my mom got it because it matched my eyes.”

“Hmm, did your mother tell you who the woman was?”

“I don’t think so, I didn’t ask though either.”

“Come with me, please”, Luna Laura said. She handed over Axel to her nanny and walked down the hallway to a staircase, going up three flights of stairs, we made it to a double door room. Opening the doors showed a huge room with floor to ceiling bookshelves, a ladder was anchored to each wall on wheels and a large leather soft was sitting in the middle of the room with arm chairs on either side, a wooden end table connecting each furniture piece with one lamp on top.

“Your library is impressive” I said in awe. I have always liked to read.

“Thank you, this is my personal library. Please do not talk about what I am about to tell you to anyone outside this room. You may tell Zach but only him, since I gather he is like your protector.”

“Okay, I promise…” I said, wondering where this is going.

“Please sit, no one is allowed in the room beside me and my husband unless I am with them. You see, I am part witch and even though I do not practise the art. I still have knowledge and instincts in me.” She pulled out a book and brought it over to me and sat down. She opened the book and it showed a list of artifacts and a picture of it. Some say what the artifact does and some do not.

“This is my mother’s book. She passed away last year but she kept a record of all her making She would make art facts or, in some cases, jewelry that had abilities of their own That ring is an artifact. She often had visions and she would make artifacts that would help someone and she would conveniently be present in said person’s life to give them that artifact without their knowledge.”

My mind is reeling, “She made things for people that had magic abilities and would sell them to people who she saw needed them?

Why didn’t she just tell people what she was and why she made them” I asked. My mom didn’t even know she had bought a magic ring!

“If a woman walked up to you and said ‘I saw you in a vision and this happened so I made this ring to help you’ would you take it?” Luna Laura asked in a skeptical voice.

“Fair enough,” I said quietly.

Flipping through the pages, she found the page with my ring on it. Written in the script it was hard to read but it looked like it said, the one who will be chased by many but will only know heartbreak till the time is right Below it was a necklace that looked just like my ring but on a chain.

“I don’t have a necklace” I said, confused.

“Actually, before my mother died, she told me of a young woman who would need information and guidance. She would have a known pain but seeking a better future. A girl with emerald green eyes to match the stone. I believe she was talking about you” Pulling out a bag, she slipped the necklace out and put it in my hand

It was a single emerald stone in a circle with a silver band around it with a vine pattern on the sides. It was connected to a dainty chair and would make an emerald land at the base of my throat between my collar bones.

“So, what do they do?” | asked quietly. I just felt like I was connected to them somehow.

“Unfortunately, it doesn’t say and my mom said that you will know when the time is right. I do have a filling. You know what the ring does though” she said, with a hint of amusement.

“..” I struggled to think of what it could be. ‘We are not affected by the Alpha’s aura’ Raven finally said after being quiet this whole time. “I am not affected by an Alpha’s aura;

I do not have to follow command if I do not want to” I stated questionably. Is that it?

“Hmm, I feel like that is correct. I am not sure what or why that will be needed, but if my mom made it so, then it must be important. The necklace will show you its ability in time.

It is getting late. Let me show you to your room, supper will be brought up to you and Zach”, Luna Laura said in a tone that left me knowing my questions were over. Although we knew she couldn’t command me to do anything, I would not be intentionally disrespectful. I followed her to the 2nd floor and to my room.

Well, that was information overload, I thought to myself. My head is just about to explode with this information. Ugh, I need a shower. Opening a random door, I first found a closet but managed to find the bathroom on my second attempt. It was a huge bathroom with floor to ceiling tiles, a steam shower that ran off a table let on the wall. The vanity was dark grey with white marbling along it as two sinks sat off to the side. Walking over to the table, I turned the shower on and turned the steamer on high. Once I was satisfied with choosing a temperature others would consider scolding, I undressed and slipped into the water. Standing under the water, I let my mind drift to all this information.

Did my mom know what she was buying me? The Luna said she didn’t, but I can’t help but wonder how my mom would have felt about it. I am sure she would have had some colorful words. Laughing to myself, I decided I should probably get out. One thing I do know is that only time will tell what exactly my destiny is and what this necklace will do.
