“It’s fine, I want to handle them myself,”
“How if not taking them to the authorities?”
“They will just deny it so I’ll do it here in the field. I want to get back at them, embarrass them,”
“And I can help you, maybe pair you with June first and let you two fight, I won’t even blow the whistle until you are done with her, then we go to Candace next,”
“Thank you but remember, they are Lycans who have been training all their lives and I’m a wolf who was denied training so I’ll need to improve first,”
“I will make sure you do and remember you have Alpha blood running in your veins,” He reminded. We went on to train the next hour before I received a mind link from Juanita, dinner was almost ready. We packed up and went back home. I showered before dinner and wore a long black dress, I did my make-up and wore heels
‘What’s with the heels?’ Liana asked.
‘I just want to look elegant,’
‘Hmm,’ She mused and I went downstairs. I found Love waiting for me. We went to the dining and sat to eat, the brothers were talking about matters of war while Love and I conversed, I felt the Alpha’s gaze on me a few times but I didn’t spare him a look. I made a decision that henceforth, I won’t be affected by his actions. He made his bed, he should lie in it.
“Who are you dressing for Halloween next month?”
“I was thinking of dressing as a dark witch or Medusa,” She exclaimed, clapping her little hands.
“I like Medusa,” I informed her and she grinned
“Me too, I think we should match, I’ve always wanted to match,”
“I’d love that!”
“Yeeehhh, what about you daddy? Do you want to match?” She asked,
“No, I’ll pass but thank you, sweetheart,” After dinner, we lazed around the salon, I was eating ice cream with Love while the men drank. It felt like a perfect family. A shrill phone sounded and the Alpha looked upset before answering it and I recognized the voice on the other side, it was Candace, my wolf almost threw a fuss but I blocked her out. No more pining for that man.
Caliana’s POV
The weeks went on fast, I’ve been doing my duties as Luna exceptionally well and I’m getting used to juggling everything and spending time with Love. However, I can’t shake the feeling that someone is always watching me especially when I go running in the woods. The red fierce eyes that were watching me the night of the Luna party.
Like today, I’m running in my form but I can feel two gazes on me, watching me. They only stopped watching once I disappeared Into the pack land.
‘How was your run?’ Garret asked. I shift into my human form and he throws me a pair of shorts and a shirt. I smell it.
“Are these yours?” He nodded and put an arm over my shoulder as we went into the training field.
My eyes trail to the men fighting yards away from us and I saw my Alpha, I’d been avoiding him like a disease, he was training his warriors in only a short, and as he gracefully moved, his rippled muscles were flexing and making him look extremely powerful. He was fighting everyone who attacked him with ease, he suddenly stopped and twisted his neck to me, we stared at each other for a while but he removed his gaze when a warrior pierced his skin with his claws, the Alpha fought him and threw him on the ground. I turned my face away before our eyes could lock again.
The next day, I was on my way to the pack house when I decided to stop by the penitentiary. The Alpha somehow found out Candace and June attacked me and sent them here and because I’m petty sometimes, I went to gloat.
“Hello Luna,” the male warden, Joladin, came to greet me. Next to him was an extremely well-built woman in a uniform, her expression was serious but she was courteous.
“You came so unexpectedly Luna,” the stern man said. I looked around the open space where women in uniforms were doing activities.
“I was passing by and decided to visit,” I said. The warden gave me a tour of the place, they had a nice cafeteria that served horrible-looking food, and the prisoners slept in small rooms that had banker beds. They all shared decent common showers.
“This is not bad,”
“The ladies here are not too dangerous, that’s why the living conditions are not as harsh as the others,”
“Do you have dungeons?” I asked.
“Yes, we do but they usually hold enemies of the pack and members who committed serious and dangerous crimes,” he said.
We reached the vegetable garden area where Candace and June were weeding and it was such a sight, I immediately took out my phone and captured some pictures of them. The clicking sound made the ladies growl at me and I smirked.
“Hello ladies,” I waved.
“You know them?” Warden Joladin grimaced.
“Yes, they attempted to kill me,” I told him and all the colors left the girls’ faces as they stared at the warden in terror. He was a tough man from the looks of it and enjoyed punishing offenders.
“Then why are the criminals here? They should be in the dungeons. Attempted murder of the pack Luna is no small matter, who trialed them?”
“I know that’s why it hurts me that they were sentenced with only hard labor, and no physical punishment because no evidence was found against them,” I spat, glaring at the two ladies. The warden looked mad and I inwardly smirked, exactly what I wanted.
Alpha Edward still protected these women by bringing them here instead of the dungeon and I hated him for it but now that I talked to the warden who seems to be angry, I can get the justice I deserve, they did attempt to kill me.
“We didn’t do it. Warden, this woman is a liar!” June shrieked, stepping forward but the harsh sound of the whip that hit the ground next to her stopped and shook in fear. I didn’t realize that the director had a whip. It made me freeze for a while too.
“Shut up and go back to gardening,” he growled, his fist clenched and to me, he composed himself and smiled at me. Alpha Edward was right, being the Luna came with influence, he meant going to the spa for free or shopping at high designer brands but I didn’t care about that, I’d rather use my privileges this way, punishing those who defy and belittle others and helping those who need it.
“Luna, don’t worry, we won’t go easy on them and they shall be treated like the criminals they are. Their files say that they shall do a year of community service and I know the right job for them,” he told me and I smiled.
“Thank you so much, Warden,”
“You are welcome,”
“I should be leaving now as I have other appointments, I was told by my P. A that my next official visit is to talk to the ladies here, is there anything you need us to do for you?”
“Now that we are on that topic, I did write a letter to the finance department about our increment in budget but it was rejected,”
“Don’t worry, I shall push it through for you and make them see reason,” I smirked and he returned it, nodding. It was like a secret pact we made.
My nemesis underestimated me and they shall pay for that, they thought they could intimidate me but they were so wrong… I quickly discovered that I have one thing they will never have… Power in high positions. They can beat me in a physical fight but not my influence.
‘I don’t think the Alpha will like that you are using it to punish them,’ Liana said and before I could respond, she giggled
‘I like it, you’re a smart girl,’
‘Do you think it’s cheating?’ I frowned.
