The rest of the school day goes by in a blur, as I still can’t wrap my head around what happened today. She is an omega for crying out loud, the weakest of the weak. And furthermore, where did she even learn how to fight to begin with? Women aren’t allowed to train in our pack, as per the old werewolf rulebook. I know many packs nowadays have decided otherwise, but my father has stuck to the old ways.
Which is, going by today’s event, a good thing I would say. No woman should ever stand up to a man like that ever again and this b*tch needs to be punished severely. What was she even thinking? After leaving school Ashton, Jeremy and I get in the car and drive home. We are all silent, which rarely ever happens with my beta’s big blabber mouth normally going on and on about the she wolves he has conquered for the day.
None of us seem to know what to even say after today’s events. So we drive home in complete silence for the first time since, well, ever.
Upon reaching the pack house where we all live we see my father standing outside, which is very unusual as he never just stands around waiting for us to get home. He never just stands outside of the pack house waiting for anyone for that matter. “f*ck, do you suppose she ratted us out to your father?” comes Ashton’s shaky voice. Although he is my future beta and I can be pretty intimidating as well, my father absolutely takes the cake. When he loses his temper, it better not be aimed at you.
He is the Alpha after all. “I don’t know dude… guess we’ll find out soon enough” I reply without looking away from my father. As we park the car, his expression doesn’t seem as stoic as it was just a few seconds ago, his expression has a hint of rage in it and I have a hard time swallowing the lump in my throat just looking at him. “Alpha” Ashton and Jeremy chime in unison to acknowledge his presence. I can’t seem to get any words out the longer I look at his face, I know I am in for a rough evening.
“My office, NOW!” is all he booms out before turning on his heels. Well f*ck.
Walking up to his office with Ashton and Jeremy creeping behind me, we are all dead silent. The looks we get from the people we are passing on our way can almost be described as the walk of shame. When an Alpha – especially a powerful one – becomes angry, they start oozing their power through their aura, it’s impossible to contain as anger is the most prominent emotion of any Alpha. The lower ranks whimper and submit at the slightest aura already, whilst the ranked beta and Delta members will start whimpering and submitting once the aura becomes more powerful. When Alphas face each other off, it is always a battle to the death.
It’s in our nature. Except when one of the Alpha’s clearly has much more power, such as the royal family, who are Lycans and naturally stronger already. In such cases weaker Alpha’s (which is everyone) are smart to submit in 1:1 battles. As my father is still the Alpha however, and not me, I am no match for him by a long shot. Once you take over the position you become physically stronger and fitter and you immediately exude more power.
Having finished our walk of shame, we are at the entrance of my father’s door. Admittedly, I am hesitant about knocking as I know this won’t be good. Before I can stall any further, my father booms through the mind link “GET IN HERE”. Of course, he could smell us outside his office since we arrived. “SIT.” Is all we get from my father and as he is scary as hell right now, we don’t need him to tell us twice and sit our asses down so fast I am surprised the chairs didn’t break from impact.
Chris POV
His aura in the room is suffocating, making it harder for us to breathe and swallow. As we sit there waiting for him to start, he glares directly at me without uttering a word. Minutes pass by like this and I am sweating profusely under his scrutinizing eye, it feels like hours and hours already. “So. Son.
Anything you have to say to me?”. My father being the smart man he is never comes out with what he knows already. Instead, he stalks his prey like the predators we are, watching every move we make, until we crack under the pressure and spill everything out in a waterfall of word vomit. I can’t mind link the guys right now as he will see my eyes are glazed over and he will know we are getting our stories together. F*ck, we should have done this earlier!
I decide to reply with what he will most likely know already “there was an altercation between Lola and us today at school” and decide to leave it at that. Another light year of him just gazing into my soul seems to pass by in his attempt to crack me – which is working as I cannot stand the silence and his aura is palpable.
“Is that all you have to tell me?” he replies with a stoic expression, making me anxious about how much he already knows and how much I should spill. Weighing my options quickly, I decide it has to be about today’s incident and I have to elaborate more, but I will keep it vague “well it was a physical altercation. She disrespected Ashton and of course he couldn’t stand for that. The teacher shut it off, but we will still need to have a stern word with her about not disrespecting our ranked members like that”. His stoic expression breaks as I see his jaw clench and he oozes more power and dominance through his aura, making Ashton and Jeremy already bare their necks in submission whilst I barely hold it together.
“Now tell me, son, how did Lola disrespect Ashton exactly?” emphasizing the word son. And f*ck did I walk into that trap. I didn’t think it through that he would ask for details! I know we were bullying her and she was standing up for herself, but I can never tell my father that. Lost for words I feel more aura dripping out of him as he is becoming more and more angry by the second and before I know it, I am baring my neck in submission.
Still at a loss for words thinking this couldn’t possibly get any worse, we hear a knock at the door and my father calling out to the person to come in. Great, this person is going to get a real show of seeing all three of us submitting like little puppies.
Lola POV
My nerves and head are all over the place and my heart is beating so fast like I have just ran a marathon. No scrape that – like I have ran five marathons and never took a break in between. The entire walk up to the Alpha’s office I felt all the omega’s curious eyes on me as I passed by. This can’t be good. Approaching the door I take one last big breath, trying to steady myself, before knocking on the door.
