“She is fine. Gabe and two Guards are with her, I checked in with Gabe as I came down here and she is fast asleep in his arms.” He chuckles and I giggle at the image in my head.
“Please tell me someone took a picture of that,” I say and two seconds later I get a thumbs up from Victor. Daniel still holds me when Alpha Malcolm walks in with Brent right behind him.
Alpha Malcolm knows why they were after me and Hunter and Daniel think it is wise if we discuss this at the cottage. Victor’s eyes glaze over once more and once he is done he says, “They will check the cottage for bugs and the Warriors are setting a perimeter around it.”
Once we are seated in the living-room with Victor, Chris and Peter standing guard by the doors, Alpha Malcolm is allowed to tell us what he found out. Hunter is still sitting on Gabe’s lap and Brent’s hand is running circles on her back.
It warms my heart to see how much they care for my Daughter and the trust she has in them. I am glad the Council sent Daniel our way and that he is my Mate.
“Alpha Daniel, the nurse came to our Pack about a year before Aspen. She switched Packs, because there was an opening in staff here and she wanted to get away from some bad memories. She never told me what they were and I never asked.
It turns out that Hunter’s Father had tried the same stunt with her but failed because her Brother knew a few Lycans. However, she had fallen in love with him and wanted to be with him regardless, but he left her without a word.
Aspen never hid the truth about what happened and the nurse was jealous that he had slept with Aspen, that he had marked Aspen. She had hoped by informing his family that they would take Hunter away and that that would break Aspen.
But his Father threw every piece of information away, because he is still ashamed of what his Son did. The Doctor knows Hunter’s Uncle and contacted him, hoping he would help them break Aspen. Both for different reasons, thou.
The Doctor had his own agenda, namely making Aspen his Mate and he would have done it forcefully if necessary.” Alpha Malcolm says and I hear murderous roars all around me and the cottage.
Looks like everyone heard what Alpha Malcolm said and they don’t like it one bit.
A small smile appears on Hunter’s face when she hears the roars and I feel a comfort knowing that there are men out there that will keep me and Hunter safe. I snuggle closer into Daniel’s chest and I feel his grip on me tighten, I have never felt this safe in my life before.
I never want to let go of this feeling; I never want to let go of this man next to me and I know that Daniel will do whatever I ask of him. I know that he will take care of me and Hunter, he will be the Father she never had and she gets four older Brothers.
The one thing I am not so confident about is how they will react to Hunter and her rather unusual way of just being her.
Gabe’s P.O.V.
While we were waiting for Daniel and Aspen, Peter had taken out his phone and taken a picture of me with a sleeping Hunter in my arms. “Luna’s request.” He mumbled and I just smiled at him.
Hunter covers her ears as we all roar at Alpha Malcolm’s words and I pull her closer to my chest, wanting to protect our Princess from harm. I hear her breathing even out and I know it won’t take long before she is asleep.
“GeeGee, can we go to the Pack-house? I want to go to sleep.” She asks and I get up with her in my arms. “Of course, Princess. Let’s get you to bed.” I say and Brent follows right behind me.
She giggles when she sees six Guards outside waiting for us and Chris and Peter are right behind us. “Just as a precaution, Princess.” I whisper to her as I walk towards the Guards. One of the Guards takes of his jacket and puts it over Hunter, when he sees her shiver.
She gives him a smile as she puts her head on my shoulder and drifts off to sleep. “Daniel, maybe we should tell Aspen and Hunter what they are in for when we get home. I don’t like that they will be unprepared.” I tell him through the mind-link and he tells me that he was thinking the same thing.
We agree on telling them in the morning before we finalize the solution for the quarrel and head back home. I feel a lot better knowing that they will know the whole truth before we leave this Pack.
Daniel’s P.O.V.
I stare at Aspen after I hear Hunter call Gabe “GeeGee” and she shrugs her shoulders. “Brent, why does she call him GeeGee?” I ask Brent as he follows Gabe out the door.
“Gamma Gabe.” Is all he replies with and I still have no answer to my question. Aspen looks at me and I tell her what Brent’s response was to my question. After a few minutes she starts laughing and now my confusion is complete, apparently my Mate has figured it out.
I wait for her to calm down and catch her breath before I ask her to clue me in on this mystery. “What is the first letter of Gamma and the first letter of Gabe?” She asks and I can smack myself in the face for not making that connection.
“You think she calls Brent “BeeBee.” She whispers, sending me in to a fit of laughter and it takes me a few minutes before I am able to ask Brent that question through the mind-link. He confirms Aspen’s suspicions and we both laugh our asses off at the expense of my Beta and Gamma.
Victor holds a straight face, but I can see the twinkle in his eyes as he listens to our conversation. I know that none of the men will call them those names to their faces, but behind their backs they sure as hell will.
I can see that Victor wants to say something, but I know that he won’t, at least not without my permission. I nod my head and he says, “How is it possible that none of us ever made that connection and she makes it within two days?”
Victor smiles at Aspen as she is back at laughing her ass off again and I feel happy and content just listening to my Mate laughing. Hunter is going to light up the house, annoy the hell out of my Sons and I am going to enjoy every second of it.
Aspen tries to hide a yawn, but Victor and I both see it and Victor makes a quick exit out the backdoor as he mumbles something under his breath. I lift Aspen in my arms and make my way to her bedroom, she is asleep by the time I put her down on the bed.
After I have taken off her clothes I strip down myself and crawl into bed with a smile on my face. Joshua and I just stare at our Mate for a while and slowly my body gets taken over by the exhaustion, drifting off to sleep.
