Life’s Spiced Up with Some Werewolf Reads

Chapter 24 – The Lycan Brothers Gifted Mate

What they don’t know is that Evander and Conri have invited me to every party at the Palace for the days of the Full Moon, or that I have sent every invitation back to them without opening them.

At first, I thought they wanted to show me how happy they were with their girlfriends, but knowing their Lycans won’t allow them to mark the females and that they will put up a fight when they want to have sex with them made me wonder.

What if they aren’t happy with those females? What if they know there is nothing they can do with those females until they reject me? Yade has also given me other reasons for the invitations, and my mind is going in that direction more and more.

What if they never meant to hurt me? What if they didn’t realize the words they used were not the smartest to use? What if they wanted me all along and are trying to make amends for it? I think I will have to give them the benefit of the doubt for the next few days and make a decision after that.

If I feel that they are not interested in me or that they are not sincere, I will tell them to reject me the first chance we get, but if they are sincere or really interested in me, I might finally accept one of their invitations. That is, of course, if I will receive another invitation in the future.

Yade and I still feel a bit strange from being in Conri’s arms; I had been so distracted by Evander’s greeting that I hadn’t seen the little rock, and Conri caught me as I lost my balance. He had just helped me to stay on my feet, and after he had released me, he had walked into the gas station.

Umayza

Axel and Boris are laughing their asses off, and I focus on my surroundings to figure out what is going on; Theron is driving right next to us with his window down. “Alexia, pull over at the next possible stop. Captain Armand has a few things he wants to discuss,” he says before he falls back and gets back in the right lane.

Tarja tells Alexia there is a diner coming up in about ten minutes, and I agree with her that it will be the best place to pull over; it makes it more difficult for someone to try anything. Not that I am afraid someone will try anything, but you can’t be too careful.

In the past two years, I have read every piece of information the Council has on Night Shade Pack, and I totally understand why Mom got the hell out of there. Every female in my family has been used for profit purposes, and it has always been for evil, never to benefit those that needed it.

My Aunt had been sent to a small Pack about twenty-five years ago to get information on the Alpha; a neighboring Alpha wanted to take his Daughter as his chosen Mate, and rumor had it that she found her fated Mate. My Aunt had been able to get into the Alpha’s office and found out that the female’s Mate would be leaving in the morning to get his belongings.

He would be gone for a few days, and the Alpha would leave that same day to the Council to complain about their neighboring Pack, leaving the female behind. In the middle of the night, the Pack had been attacked, but before anyone could get to her, she had taken her own life.

Her Father and her Mate had found a note she had left behind, asking her Father to look after her Mate and asking her Mate to look after her Father. She had been the only Pup the Alpha had, and her Mate had stayed with her Father as she had requested, taking over the Pack when the Alpha finally stepped down.

I had been furious with my Aunt; she is as guilty of the woman’s death as the other Alpha was, and every story I read about my family was of a similar nature. Always resulting in death and destruction. I will never help them; I would rather take my own life.

Yade and I will fight my family with everything we have to escape them, or we would die trying to escape. I get pulled from my thoughts as Alexia turns off the road into the parking lot of the diner.

Captain Armand

As Callan comes to a stop in the parking lot, I see Boris and Axel exit the vehicle, and Yonatan follows shortly after them, but he just closes the door to lean against it with his arms crossed in front of his chest. Boris walks to the left of the diner, while Axel walks to the right, and soon they both disappear around the corner.

After a few minutes, the door of the diner opens, and Boris steps out as he nods his head at Yonatan, who opens the door of the SUV. Tarja is the first to get out, and she steps to the other side of the door, while Alexia walks around the SUV to wait a few steps away from the door.

Umayza is the next to step out of the SUV with Blaze right behind her, and they block her in from every side as they walk towards the diner. “Damn, they’re good,” Callan says, and I have to admit I am very impressed by the way they protect her.

Other than the twelve of us, the diner is empty; I don’t even see a waitress around, and soon I find out why that is. “Everything is clear; the waitress and cook have taken my offer to leave for the next two hours. We have the place all to ourselves,” Axel says as Alexia turns the sign on the door to “We’re Closed.”

Yonatan is busy in the kitchen as Umayza asks me what I want to know. “No, don’t answer that question just yet. I think I have a feeling what this is about, and I will tell you what I know; after that, you can ask me anything if I haven’t given you the answer yet,” she cuts me off before I can ask her anything.

She tells us that her protection detail had been working on an assignment for the Council and were about to return to their normal position within the King’s Army when the Council found out about her ability. So they were asked to become her protection detail, and they had accepted without any doubts.

“Have a seat.” It is a sentence I have heard a lot during my life. For some reason, people never seem to remember my name, and there was a time in my life I hated that fact, but nowadays I am grateful for it. It makes it more difficult for anyone to identify me.

A picture is placed on the desk in front of me, and I stare at the most beautiful girl in the world. “I need you to keep an eye on her and report everything she does. I want a detailed report every week; I want to know everything about her.” The female on the other side of the desk says.

I nod my head and grab the picture off the desk as I get out of my seat, quickly making my way out of the office I am currently in. I have no idea why she wants me to keep an eye on this female, and I am smart enough not to ask; I will just do as I am told.

It took me a week to find out that the female in the picture is staying at the Academy and that her name is Umayza; other than that, I have not found out much about her yet. I made a detailed report of my week, of what I did to find her and what I had found out about her.
