I had seventeen minutes before the royal escort came to take me away. My father signed me up as the Alpha Prince’s surrogate candidate. Alpha Prince Grayson, the King’s only heir. He’d been in a coma for months. The King and Queen wanted a backup plan. An heir. So they’d sent word to all thirteen…
“Don’t-“ “You’re a prude.” He said it like reading off a list. Flat, final. “You act like your body is made of gold. Like I should be grateful just to hold your hand.” He looked at Maren, who was watching me with bright, delighted eyes. “Maren isn’t like that. She actually knows how to make…
The King entered first. He was enormous – iron-haired, scar-jawed, with a body built from decades of war. The Queen walked beside him, tall and composed in dark green silk, her expression as readable as a locked door. Behind them came a handful of advisors and guards, spreading along the walls like shadows. Everyone dropped…
My knuckles grazed his hip bone. Then lower. My fingers brushed across the front of his sleep pants, and I felt him – hard and unmistakable – pressing against the fabric. I yanked my hand back so fast I knocked the stack of clean clothes off the nightstand. My face was on fire. My brain…

The servants went rigid. “The next person who speaks about the Luna Princess like she’s not standing right there will scrub the east wing latrines for a month.” Her voice was ice. “She…
“Daily massage. Forty-five minutes. Shoulders, arms, back, and legs. Maintains muscle tone, promotes circulation, prevents atrophy.” She tapped her clipboard. “The Queen performed this herself before you arrived. She expects the same standard.” I looked at the Prince lying motionless in his silk sheets. Dark hair against the white pillow. That jaw. Those shoulders. The…
“Keep my secret. Don’t cause trouble. Don’t draw attention.” I leaned back. “Do that, and when this is over, I’ll let you walk away. Free.” She stared at me. Then she nodded. Smart girl. LILLIAN I stood on the far side of the room with my back pressed against the stone wall and tried to…
The washroom door opened. The Prime Beta filled the frame. In his hand was a syringe – small, clinical, amber liquid inside. Some here,” he said. “No.” I pressed back against the wall. “No please -“ He grabbed my arm. I twisted, fought, but he was three times my strength. He yanked me into the…
