Chapter 11 – Abandoned Luna Now Untouchable (Cecilia & Sebastian) Novel Free Online by Lila

Yvonne shot me a triumphant look that clearly said: [See? I told you changing outfits was the right move. Use your assets wisely!]

I could only sigh internally. His words were hardly complimentary-they were thinly veiled sarcasm.

We began our game. Sebastian displayed exceptional skill, and Mr. Chu wasn’t bad either. Yvonne and I took a few swings as well, but we were clearly just there for atmosphere.

After playing through the course, we retreated to a shaded area to rest.

Yvonne deliberately entangled Mr. Chu in a conversation about new golf clubs at the club’s shop, met dragging him away to give me time alone with Sebastian.

Sebastian sat down, and I hurriedly opened a water bottle and handed it to him, eager to make a good impression.

He stared at my hand for several seconds before accepting the bottle. However, he simply placed. it on the table without drinking.

I felt another wave of disappointment wash over me. [No chance.]

“Celina, who claims this is our first meeting,” Sebastian began while elegantly wiping sweat from his brow with a wet wipe, “you’ve gone to such lengths to meet me. I hope you’re not just interested in my measurements.” His tone was casual, but his words cut like a knife.

[A double insult in one sentence.]

I pressed my lips together, considering my response carefully. “Saying it was our first meeting was a slip of the tongue. When I asked Lian about you… it was because I accidentally stained your suit and wanted to buy you a replacement.”

“As for why I wanted to meet you today, I heard you’re looking for a secretary.”

I honestly told him the real purpose of my coming here.

Sebastian put down the wet wipe and stated bluntly, “You’re not suitable.”

With that, he stood up and walked toward the forest behind us.

Being rejected without even being asked a single question ignited a spark of defiance in me.

He stood up,and I didn’t hesitate to catch up. The forest held its breath around us-silent, watchful.

His ward shirt gleamed in the shifting light, a ghost between shadow and sun.

I told myself as I walked: I’m not here to beg for a chance, I’m here to win recognition. recognition.

On the other side of the forest, a golf cart slowly drove through the fairway.

“Xavien?” Cira called softly, snuggling beside him, and suddenly realized that something was wrong with his expression.

He looked at the forest not far away, his eyes pinned to the graceful figure – the ward sleeveless top was pressed against the curve of his body, and the black short skirt swayed lightly with his steps. This back looks like Celina.

Cira looked along his gaze, but only had time to see a trace of legs that were about to be covered by the woods.

“What are you looking at?” She acted coquettishly and pulled his cuffs, “Xavien?”

Xavien came back to his senses, his eyes hidden in the shadows, and whispered, “Nothing.”

He looked away and stared at the road ahead, but there was already doubt in his eyes.

Celina

I continued following Sebastian, my heart pounding with each step. He stopped beside a tall oak tree and answered his phone, acknowledging my presence with just a brief glance over his shoulder.

Realizing he needed privacy, I retreated to a small mushroom-shaped gazebo nearby. I rubbed my forehead in frustration, mentally replaying my disastrous performance. Once Sebastian finished his call, I gathered my courage and approached him again.

“Alpha Sebastian clearly has excellent judgment,” I said with forced lightness. “I clearly can’t even read a situation properly. You’re right-I’m not suitable for the secretary position. I apologize for wasting your time.”

His eyebrow arched elegantly. “You followed me all the way here just to confirm that you’re unsuitable? To tell me this?”

I stood speechless, completely disarmed by his sharp retort.I gave an awkward laugh. Since my job prospects were already hopeless, there was no point in pretending anymore. “Obviously I followed you to try and change your mind. But between the terrible first impression I made and today’s circus act, I clearly don’t meet your standards. I just wanted to end things without offending you further.”

Sebastian regarded me with cold detachment. “You think those are my reasons for rejecting you?”

“Aren’t they?” I asked, genuinely confused.

“You came dressed like this to interview for a position as my secretary,” he said, leaning slightly forward, his voice lowering to a dangerous timbre. “If I were to accept you, wouldn’t it suggest I’m only interested in your appearance?” His eyes flickered over my outfit. “Even if I were that type of man, I wouldn’t be so obvious about it.”

My face exploded with heat. The blush spread from my cheeks to the tips of my ears, burning with such intensity I thought I might combust. His meaning was crystal clear-he thought I was trying to seduce my way into the position, and he found the attempt both transparent and distasteful.

I couldn’t bring myself to explain that this wasn’t my chosen outfit. “Point taken,” I managed to say. “I should go. Goodbye.”

I didn’t wait for him to say anything. Turned around and walked away as fast as my pride would hold out.

The sting of rejection burned hotter than the blazing sun overhead, searing my breath.

Walking out of the open space until the forest blocked the view behind me, I vaguely heard a familiar voice coming from the distance.

“Where has Celina gone?” It was Yvonne, his tone full of confusion.

“She’s gone.” Sebastian’s voice was so calm that there was almost no waves, as if he was talking about an irrelevant little thing.

“What? Why?” Yvonne was obviously shocked. “Alpha Sebastian, Celina is actually very capable-“

I can’t hear the following words clearly.

I just lowered my head and walked quickly, as if I wanted to escape from that space where the air was full of shame.

No matter how Yvonne explains it now, he cannot change everything he has seen and assumed.

Of course, it is impossible to erase the humiliation that is still scratching my skin at this moment.

Back home, I immediately stripped off the borrowed outfit and changed into my comfortable loungewear. I sat dejectedly in front of my vanity mirror, staring at my reflection.

Without Xavien, without my position at Blood Moon Pack-was I truly nothing now?

After wallowing in self-pity for an hour, I finally checked my phone, which I’d silenced during my disastrous meeting. The screen showed numerous missed calls-several from Xavien and many from Yvonne.

I ignored Xavien’s calls completely and dialed Yvonne instead.

“I’m so sorry for disappearing,” I said when she answered. “I wasn’t feeling well-low blood had to leave quickly and completely forgot to tell you.”

Yvonne was silent for a few seconds. “…I’m the one who should apologize.” sugar. I

“It’s fine, really. I was just taking a chance anyway, I reassured her. “You’ve already helped me so much, and I appreciate it.”

“Don’t talk like that. Listen, I explained the clothing situation to Sebastian, though he didn’t really react. I got his number from Mr. Chu-do you want to try contacting him directly?”

After a moment’s consideration, I declined. “It’s fine. The Silver Peak Pack and I clearly aren’t meant to be.”

Hearing my resignation, Yvonne didn’t push further.

After hanging up, I crawled into bed, my emotional exhaustion translating into physical fatigue.

Half-asleep, I heard the bedroom door open.

“Mmm…” I rolled over, squinting to see Xavien standing by the bed, his expression frosty.

I didn’t want to talk to him, so I turned away and pulled the covers over my head.

“Have you been home sleeping all day? You didn’t go out?” Xavien sat on the edge of the bed, his voice probing.

I remained silent.

“I saw someone who looked like you at the golf course today.”

My eyes snapped open beneath the covers.

He was at the golf course too? How ridiculous. He and Cira had been flaunting their relationship right in front of me, yet he had the audacity to question my whereabouts.

I wanted to confront him-yes, I was there, so what?-but then I worried he might cause trouble for Yvonne. I kept silent instead.

Xavien leaned down and pulled back a corner of the blanket, his gaze falling on my bare neck, searching for any suspicious marks. Finding none, his expression softened slightly.

Still, he persisted, needing verbal confirmation. “Did you go out today or not?”

“No, I didn’t leave the house,” I lied through gritted teeth. “I spent the afternoon cleaning the yard. I’m trying to sleep-please stop bothering me.” I yanked the covers back over my head, repulsed by his proximity.

Seemingly satisfied with my answer, Xavien finally left me alone.

Sebastian

As night fell, I sat alone at the dining table in the penthouse. The windows are brightly lit, but the room is as quiet as ever. Lian poured me a glass of awakened red wine as usual, and hist movements were steady and skillful.

“What’s the progress on the headhunter?” I asked casually, gently whirling the wine glass with my fingertips, and the red wine wafted a deep red whirlpool in the crystal cup.

*Beta Sawyer just sent a new list,” Lian replied. “When you have time, you can see it.” He paused, and a meaningful light flashed in his eyes. “I glanced at that Miss Celina, the one you saved in that car accident was also among them.”

I moved and stopped in the air. “Is that?” I said as usual, but there was a glimpse of Lian’s face that had seen countless people. He knew that I was not really indifferent to that name.
