“What if the luna has ten babies?”
The three of them widened their eyes, marveled in the idea of it, while Zuri was having a headache. Ten babies?! That’s ridiculous, but for these three brats, they took it seriously.
“I am not going to have ten babies!” Zuri hissed, annoyed.
“Why not? You need to build a dynasty. You need a lot of babies.”
“I am not going to give birth to a whole entire pack, okay.”
Thankfully, Caiden found his brothers in time before Zuri had a real headache. He shooed them away from the stage.
“Stop talking about baby. All of you shouldn’t be here,” he said sternly. “This is the place for the alpha and the luna.”
Zuri couldn’t imagine to have them as her little brothers. It looked very exhausted. The three of them ran away from him.
Once they left, Caiden smiled suggestively. “So, how many babies do you plan?”
“Oh, shut up.”
Rose was miserable. She sat inside the carriage that would take her to Blackthorne pack with alpha Logan, she felt like a baggage that would be delivered away. This was not the union that she wanted.
The satisfying feeling that she felt for making Nycta see her error didn’t get her too far, because in the end of the day, her sacred moment was ruined. No amount of word could make her feel better.
Someone knocked from outside of the carriage and her father’s voice traveled inside, asking her to open it. Rose knew it was him, she could smell his scent, but she was still very angry when she opened the door and let her father in.
“I know you are angry,” king Amidas said calmly. “But, this is necessary.”
“This is not necessary. Logan is not in any strong position. He is a former beta, he doesn’t have any relation with royal family. He is the weaker figure within the three packs in this kingdom.” Rose still couldn’t see her father in the eyes.
“Be patient.” King Amidas took Rose’s hand in his and made her look at him. “There is something that I want you to know.”
Rose lifted her head and met her father’s eyes reluctantly. She didn’t want to hear anything, unless it was something that could prevent her from spending the night with Logan. She was not willing to give herself up to him.
His status was below her. He must have used his lifetime of fortune to be able to have her and it felt like an insult, more so with the way how the union went. Her father didn’t even say anything about the lack of festivity and celebration.
However, whatever her father said next made her smile slightly. “Beta Bryden came to you?”
“Yes.”
“And he offered that?” Rose knitted her brows. “Are you going to take the offer?”
“We will see. We don’t know what Khaos has. He has been hiding it for a long time, he must have something great in his arsenal, but we can’t underestimate Dacre too, after all, he is still the king. He rules the kingdom.”
The conclusion from this was; they needed to wait and chose their side wisely. They were not going to choose the defeated party.
After that conversation, Rose had something to think about, so she could distract herself from the man, who was sitting across from her. It was Logan.
He was not bad. He was quite attractive with his dark hair and dark eyes. His sharp jaw made him look like an assertive type. Rose would like to have this man as her mate if only he had a better status.
“You don’t talk much,” Logan said to break the silence between them on their way to the pack house. “Something is bothering you?”
Rose lifted he head. “Nothing.”
Logan didn’t take his eyes off her when he spoke again. His voice was calm, but he knew what he said the right thing. “You don’t want this union. You don’t like it because there is no festivity.”
“We are in tight situation. It’s not the right time to have a festivity,” Rose replied wisely.
And their journey back to Blackthorne pack filled with silence inside the carriage.
It took them three hours to reach the pack and the first thing she heard was the commotion on the street. Curiously, Rose opened the curtain of the window and looked outside, where the street was bustling with people.
Beautiful lamps hanged on every taverns, people laughed and they cheered when their carriage moved past them.
People threw flowers on their way, welcoming their new luna, while at the sky, firework lit up, it was a beautiful color of bright red and blue.
“This may not up to your expectation, but I think you deserve better than a simple dinner together for our union.”
Rose shifted her attention from the celebration outside and looked at Logan, his dark eyes fixed on her. He didn’t look very assertive now when he smiled slightly at her. He looked shy…

The ceremony was ended with Khaos and Zuri went to the river, where they basked themselves under the soft moonlight.
This was the lycan tradition to bless a union, indicating that the moon goddess blessed them. Under the moonlight, Khaos was supposed to mark Zuri, but because he already did it, he simply kissed her neck, where his mark was.
A few meters away from them, the pack member of Greywolf pack watched this union, they could only see the silhouette of their alpha and their luna from afar, but even so, they looked so beautiful…
The water around them was glittering and shimmering under the soft light of the moon, while the sky studded with stars, as if the universe gave its blessing to them.
“You are shivering,” Khaos said against her neck. He nibbled there, since he didn’t need to mark her again.
“The water is still cold,” Zuri replied, she wished he didn’t hear her thumping heart, but that was a foolish thing to think, because they were so close, she was even able to feel his strong heartbeat, as their body pressed together. “How long are you going to nibble on me?”
“This part of the ceremony should last at least, half an hour, since that’s what it takes to mark your mate.” Khaos licked her tender skin and she breathed sharply. “So, let’s say we will stay like this for another twenty minutes.
Zuri’s heart felt warm when she heard Khaos referred to her as his mate. “I can’t feel my toes. This is too cold. Can you feel your toes?”
Khaos chuckled when he heard that. “Yes, I can feel my toes. You know that you have been standing on my feet, right?”
“The water is too deep,” she justified herself.
Where they were standing, the water level was on her chest.
“Should we end this?” Khaos whispered, he lifted her body and Zuri instinctively wrapped her legs around his waist.
“I don’t think they could get out of the water yet.” Gayle narrowed his eyes, as he talked to Caiden, who were busy to restrain his twin siblings, as they whined for him to let go.
Caiden found them roamed around when they were supposed to be in bed and he was not happy about this, because it meant they were up to something not good.
Thankfully, Rian didn’t need to be restrained, as he stood next to Gayle obediently. He was only up, because the twin dragged him out of the bed. He yawned and rubbed his sleepy eyes a few times. It was obvious that the little boy wanted to go back to bed and didn’t wish to be there.
