“I love this kingdom, but Sir Lorent is my kin. I want to try to help. After all, a good relation between two kingdoms is really important, don’t you think?”
“You are always about good relation.” Zuri leaned her back, sitting comfortably, while Rose was still standing. She kept this conversation long because she wanted to see her suffering a little bit. It felt good. “Fine I will help you. With conditions.”
Rose hated it when Zuri acted smugly like this, but she was not in the position to retort her. She could see her mark peeked from the collar of her dress, Khaos’s mark. She really wanted it. Until now, Logan had not yet marked her, but she didn’t really care.
Logan didn’t have the alpha’s blood ran in his veins, he was a beta and by nature, as a beta, he followed order and it was pretty easy to control him to do her bidding, once you knew the right word to say.
That was was within her palm. Logan might be the king, but it was Rose, who made the decision behind the scene.
“Anything, my Great Queen.”
“Don’t say that,” Zuri chuckled. “You might regret it.”
And Zuri told her about the conditions that she had in order to help her uncle. She was right, Rose regretted it, but there was no other way, because Zuri made it that way.
She cornered them, leaving them with no choice.
“I told you, leave it to me,” Zuri said softly, as she mewled in Khaos’s arms. The lycan laid on her back, using his elbows to support his body, so he wouldn’t put all of his weight on her. He kissed her bare shoulder, as they talked about their day.
“You are brilliant.”
“Do you think she will agree?” Zuri had a second thought, she closed her eyes when Khaos caressed the side of her body.
“She will agree.”
Zuri had proposed for Khaos not to give any condition to king Amidas and simply frustrated the king by insisting to kill his brother.
Instead, they would use the ‘subtle’ way.
This was where the woman played their roles.
If it was Khaos, who requested for king Amidas to step down from his throne, he would resist and it wouldn’t reflect good on Khaos, but if the idea came from king Amidas himself, it wouldn’t impact him in the public’s eyes.
“I like your wickedness.” Khaos nibbled on her neck.
After the ceremony of the new king and queen for Celeste kingdom, there was another news from Wolfdale kingdom that king Amidas would step down from his position and the crown prince would be crowned as the new king.
It happened only a month after the ceremony in Celeste kingdom, which meant, Khaos and Zuri needed to be in Wolfdale kingdom for the ceremony and established Khaos’s reign over the two kingdoms, only then they would go to Three Deadly Ways to put an end for the ruckus there, since the owner of the Great Palace had returned.
It was a long plan and Zuri was there for it.
Since Khaos refused to give her the alternative end with her memories were erased and started a new Chapter in her life, she decided to support Khaos through everything.
If he wanted this continent, then she would help him to get it.
But, the problem here was; people like Ezra, Bryden, Rhett and some more people, believed that Khaos couldn’t achieve that without completing the beauty blood, since he needed the lycan’s ultimate power to take down Great Lunar kingdom.
There was a reason why Great Lunar kingdom could handle Celeste kingdom and Wolfdale kingdom’s combined force for so long in Three Deadly Ways, they indeed had the source and the power to do so.
Taking them down and making the king bowed down to the lycan’s reign wouldn’t be easy.
“What did you talk to Elena?” Zuri asked Khaos when he entered the carriage. She caught Khaos talking to Elena when she went out to stretch out a bit, the conversation didn’t last long, but Zuri didn’t like it.
Their entourage just crossed the border and now, they were in Wolfdale kingdom territory. Khaos took almost five hundred warriors with him and ten magic users, including Dezgar, while the rest stayed in Celeste kingdom.
Warriors from Wolfdale kingdom would meet with them here to march toward their capital city.
“She told me about the rebel in this area.” Khaos went to kiss her cheek, knowing she was upset. “The rebels are adamant not to not accept the new king, since prince Eyron chose to bow down to the lycan. Their protest became fiercer nowadays when they learned I came to this kingdom to bless the crowning of the new king.” Khaos then added. “And to execute some of the people.”
He answered all of her question, knowing that his mate was being jealous. The voices in her mind must be acting up again.
Khaos cupped her face and rested his forehead against hers, as he mindlinked her instead of talking. [Feeling better now? Do you want me singing for you?]
[You are not a good singer.] Zuri replied sullenly, but she sighed deeply, relishing this moment with him.
She knew how wrong it was to feel this way, since Khaos and Elena had never given her any indication that they had something going on between them.
‘Do you really believe that?’
I do.
And she heard that laughter before it died down.
Recently, the voices in her mind got very wild, though Khaos’s presence always helped, but as time went by, the effect was not as great as the first time he marked her.
The voices would overlap Khaos’s voice in her head even when he mindlinked her to drown away that craziness.
The voices didn’t last for long when Khaos was with her, it didn’t happen all the time and only rarely, but it did happen.
Zuri didn’t talk about it to Khaos.
[Then, what do you want me to do?] Khaos caressed her cheeks with his thumbs and pecked on her lips.
[Surprise me.] Zuri replied coquettishly.
However, the surprise didn’t come from Khaos, because before they could do anything, someone had blown a horn, indicating that they were under attack.
“Stay inside the carriage,” Khaos said, he straightened his back and listened to the report through mindlink from Gayle and Caiden.
“You know that I am good fighter, right?” Zuri tilted her head.
“I know, but I will be very upset if I have to bath you when their blood splattered on you.” Khaos smirked and kissed her lips. “Stay. The rebels are brutal from what I heard. “
And after that, Khaos went out of the carriage.
“I can be very brutal too!” Zuri complained. “I am not a child, you don’t need to bath me, though.”
Zuri didn’t like to be left behind, especially when she had a solid excuse to kill off someone. Her blood was boiling with excitement when she watched how the fight went.
They were outnumbered, but with the lycan and the magic users on their side, they managed to leverage their shortcoming.
