Chapter 145 – Falling for the Last Lycan Novel

Lorent was enraged.

Zuri didn’t respond for a while. She tried to comprehend the situation, but then she laughed. “Why would Khaos kidnap your mate? It doesn’t like he like your mate at all. He doesn’t even know her.”

“Really?” Lauren questioned her with a scowl. “Have it crossed your mind that you were the one that told him about her? You told him about my mate, about our meeting. Do you think you can keep it a secret from him? You are like his lapdog. You will wriggle your tail to get a praise from him, to get him to pet you. You are nothing but a lapdog for Khaos. Even when he hurt you, you will happily go back to him, right? That’s what you are. You are nothing now. Let me make it clear; tell me where is my mate and I will let you run to your master.”

Lorent didn’t intend to thing to be like this between him and Zuri, because he wished, he could stop Khaos by using his mate.

Before the lycan started their old ritual again.

Meanwhile, Zuri could feel the anger that built inside of her. She really wanted to kill him, the voices in her head were crying and screaming to her. If it’s not for the silver chain that restrained her, she would have killed Lorent right there and then. But Lorent was smart. He must have known what she was capable to do.

“So, you knew nothing about it.”

“Knew about what?” Zuri asked. She was being very impatient with this man. This fucking man had kidnapped her. He had separated her from Khaos.

This was the last thing she wanted since the last conversation she had with Khaos didn’t go well. She still had this turmoil inside of her.

Zuri was still trying to come to terms with the fact she had to choose between her sanity and the possibility of having Khaos’s child.

But then, it was laughable because Zuri had lost her sanity a long time ago, right? She was crazy.

That was what her father told her. That was what the voices in her head always told her. That was what she always heard. And now she believed that already.

It was already too late for her to undo what had been done. Therefore, in this case, there was no real option for Zuri. There was only one way to make things right.

On the other hand, Lorent stared at her as if he was trying to read a complicated book with the language that he couldn’t understand.

It was quiet inside the room but not inside Zuri’s head, the voices were clawing in her mind and now it manifested into Xaden figure where he was standing at the corner of the room staring at her mockingly with that voice she already accustomed to.

This man always came whenever she was in such situation as if he wanted to enjoy her misery. He lived in her misery. That was why he always came. Because Zuri life is nothing but misery.

And then Lorent nodded, as if he had come into a conclusion after having a conversation with himself, which Zuri was not privilege to know. He stood up and then left the room, leaving Zuri alone screaming to him to come back, but he didn’t even turn around to glance over his shoulder to see her cursing at him.

“I am going to rip you apart if you don’t come back here and release me! Khaos will know where to find me! He is going to kill you!”

Zuri screamed on the top of her lungs, she screamed at Lorent, she screamed at Xaden, who moved closer to approach her.

“Don’t you dare to come here! Don’t you dare to move closer to me! Don’t touch me!”

To her horror, Xaden started caressing her face, because right now she couldn’t move away since this stupid chain restrained her.

“Don’t touch me!”

‘Why? I thought you like it when I touched you. Don’t you remember that I was the one, who touched you?’

And the torture in her head began when Xaden reminded their ‘sweet’ moment together.

Meanwhile, inside the tent in the campsite, there was there was a storm in the form of the lycan, where the king of the Lycan turned everything upside down the moment he noticed his mate had gone missing.

Every warrior who had gone into battle and experienced life and death situation were trembling in fear.

This was the situation they had never encountered before, especially the warriors from the Wolfdale Kingdom. They had never seen with their own eyes the wrath of the Lycan.

Gayle and Caidan tried to assuage Khaos anger, but it was to no avail since there was only one thing that could make the lycan to see senses.

He wanted his mate back. He wanted his Zuri back to his arms. He didn’t believe she ran away. She was not capable of running away from him. She needed him just like how he needed her.

Someone must have taken her away from him and he was going to tear every kingdom apart to find her right now.

All the warriors had been dispatched to track down her whereabouts.

However, it was hard since there was no trace of her, not even her scent. That was why Chaos couldn’t track her down himself. He couldn’t mindlink her, which mean she was too far away from his reach and this only aggravated him.

The beast inside of him wanted blood, he wanted violence. He was going the tear whoever responsible for this, cut them into pieces, until no one could recognize them anymore.

“Do you really think this is Lorent doing?” Gayle asked Khaos because the lycan believed it was the king’s advisor, Lorent.

There was no one else. He didn’t accept the other option that indicated Zuri had run away on her own. It was too clean. Zuri wouldn’t know how to erase her trace and scent.

“I want all the warrior guard the carriage and make sure that fucking woman is still inside there. I want a full security around her. If they failed to secure that woman, all of them would be dead by the end of the day, understood?” Khaos as Gayle and Caidan, where both of them nodded.

They looked scared, they had never seen Khaos this angry before, well it happened once when Zuri was kidnapped and it ended with someone’s death, they were sure this time the number would escalate.

It felt like even to stare at his shadow, you could feel the rage that exuded from him. It had been three hours since they noticed Zuri had gone missing. She could be anywhere and they didn’t know how she could be kidnapped under the tight security unless there was a traitor among them. And that was what Khaos belief.

And he was right most of the time.

He was always right because soon after, one of the warriors managed to find the mole.

Apparently, there were five warriors from Wolfdale Kingdom who had helped Lauren to get the lycan’s mate, and it was possible to do since they were very familiar with Lorent. After all, they were coming from the same Kingdom.

The five of them knelt down in front of Khaos, their body trembled. They were scared for their lives, but their lives had gone the moment they decided to betray the lycan. They should know better than this.

Khaos didn’t even talk as he let his claws emerged from the tip of his fingers and clawed the first person right in his chest, ripping out his heart and crushing it as if it was nothing.

He looked savage, he looked vicious. He looked feral just because his mate had gone missing and they could choose to have a peaceful death or a painful one.

“Choose wisely,” Khaos said.

Khaos would make sure they were going through the most aggravating pain that someone could have in the end of their life if he didn’t get the information he wanted.

Now, Khaos went to the second person who begged for his forgiveness. He begged for his mercy, yet he had no mercy to give.

He had nothing when he lost her, and he knew what Lorent capable of doing. Khaos felt it now. The reason why the mate bond could counter the attachment between the lycan and the Shell.

But for Khaos, Zuri was both.

She was his mate and his attachment.
