Chapter 159 – My Alpha Stepbrother’s Dirty Secret (Killian & Liana) Novel Free Online

“I can’t believe this,” Mom whispered, shaking her head slowly before she turned and walked straight out of the room. Her footsteps were quick, her shoulders stiff with anger and grief, and the sound of the door closing behind her was making it seem as if it was a death sentence.

“Mom!” I screamed, panic tearing out of me as I tried to stand, but my legs wobbled. Ryan caught me almost immediately and pushed me gently but firmly back down.

“Anna, wait-” he said quickly, his voice tight but trying to stay calm. His hands were firm on my arms, steadying me. “Mom just needs time. She’ll learn to accept it.”

“No!” I shaook my head furiously, my tears falling so fast they blurred my vision. “Don’t say that, Ryan, don’t you see? She’s disappointed, Ryan, so disappointed. In us… in me most of all!” My voice cracked, and I pressed my hands against my face, sobbing. “I swore I would never disappoint her. She took me in, Ryan, she raised me like I was hers, she loved me like I was her real daughter… and now I’ve thrown it all back in her face. I’ve broken her heart!”

Ryan reached up, cupped my face with both hands, forcing me to look at him. “Anna, stop. Don’t put all of this on yourself. This isn’t just you, it’s me too. We both did this. If Mom’s angry, she’s angry at both of us, not only you. You’re not alone in this, baby. I promise, she’ll come around sooner or later.”

That word, both of us’, was making something inside me twist. For him it sounded simple, like we were equal in this, like Mom would carry her disappointment the same way for both of us. But I knew better. I felt it in my bones, in the way she looked at me now… in the way her tears weren’t just about anger but betryaal…

“You’re wrong, Ryan… not the both of us. But Me.”

He frowned, his thumb brushing over my cheek. “Anna, what are you talking about?”

“She’ll forgive you,” I said, my voice trembling, my tears choking me. “You’re her real son, Ryan. Her blood. But me? I’m not her real daughter, I’m adopted. She gave me everything, treated me like her own, and this is how I repay her? By betryaying her with her son?” My voice broke into a sob. “She’ll never forgive me. Never. She’ll hate me forever.”

Ryan shaook his head quickly. “No, Anna, stop saying that. Don’t think like that. You mean as much to her as I do. You’re-“

“No, Ryan!” I snapped, my body shaking as the words exploded out of me. “Don’t lie to me! You’ll always be her blood, her son. She’ll forgive you no matter what you do. But me? I’ll always be the mistake she regrets taking in, the adopted daughter who ruined her life. That’s what I am to her now!”The silence that followed was making it worse. Ryan’s lips parted, but nothing came out. He just stared at me like he didn’t know how to fight what I was saying. That silence ripped something wide open in me.

“And it’s your fault!” I screamed suddenly, my voice raw and burning as the tears poured harder.” Everything is your fault! Why did you do it? Why did you pour your seed inside me? Why did you make me pregnant, Ryan? You ruined me! You ruined everything!” My fists hit against his chest weakly as I sobbed. “If you hadn’t done it, I wouldn’t be here, I wouldn’t be breaking, I wouldn’t have to see Mom look at me like I was nothing but shame to her! You caused this!”

He flinched at my words as if I had struck him, his face pale, his eyes wide. “Anna… please-“

“You don’t get it!” I cut him off, my voice breaking, my chest heaving so hard it hurt. “You don’t know what you’ve done to me. I don’t even know who I am anymore. Kellan said wolf blood-wolf blood, Ryan! What does that even mean? My whole life I thought I was human, I thought I was normal, and now I don’t even know what I am anymore. And it all started with you. It all started with your mark, with what you did. You broke me, Ryan, and now Mom will never see me the same again.”

He looked devastated, his face tight with shock, his eyes flickering with panic, but I wasn’t finished.

“You know what hurts the most?” My voice shook as I whispered, and then I looked him in the eye. “That Mom will forgive you because you’re her real son. But me? I’m nothing to her now. She’ll hate me forever.

And it’s all because of you!”

Ryan’s face drained of color, his body stiff, his lips parting as if he wanted to say something but the words never came. His silence felt like proof, like confirmation of my worst fears. It destroyed me.

I wiped my face roughly, my hands shaking. “I can’t do this. I can’t even look at you right now. I can’t breathe.”

“Anna-” he begged, reaching for my arm.

I yanked away violently. “Don’t touch me!” My scream tore out of me, raw, desperate. “Just don’t!”

I stumbled to my feet and bolted out of the room, my legs barely keeping me upright, my vision blurred with tears. “Mom!” I cried down the hall, my voice echoing, breaking. “Mom, please!” But the hallway was empty. She was gone.

The emptiness was crushing me. My knees buckled, and I slid down against the wall, collapsing on the cold floor, my sobs uncontrollable. I buried my face in my hands, crying so hard I could barely breathe.

“Mom,” I choked out, my voice breaking apart. “I’m sorry… I’m so sorry… please don’t hate me… please forgive me… I didn’t mean to… I’m sorry… I’m so sorry…”

ANNA’S POV

“Anna…” Ryan’s voice was soft when he found me on the floor outside, my knees tucked to my chest, my face hidden in my hands. My body was shaking with sobs that I couldn’t control, and even though ! heard him, even though part of me wanted to shove him away, I didn’t move when he bent down and reached for me. His hands were warm against my arms, steadying me, and it hurt more than anything that I didn’t shrug him off this time. I just sat there crying, letting him touch me, hating myself for not being able to hate him enough.

He cussed under his breath and before I could say a word, he slid one arm under my knees and the other around my back and lifted me into his arms bridal style. I gasped and hit at his chest with weak fists, my words breaking through the tears. “Put me down, Ryan! I told you to leave me alone! Just leave me the hell alone!”

But he didn’t. His jaw was tight, his eyes hard as he held me close against him, carrying me like I weighed nothing. “You just recovered, Anna,” he muttered firmly, his tone brooking no argument. “I’m not letting you get sick again. And you’re already carrying a baby inside of you, so there’s no way in hell I’m leaving you out here on the cold floor crying like this.”

“Ryan, put me down now!” I hit him again, but there was no strength in me, only anger and pain. He kept walking, ignoring every single protest until he reached the bed. He laid me down gently, tucking me against the pillows as if I was fragile, and that only made me angrier. I shoved at him, glaring with swollen, tear-filled eyes. “I told you to leave me the hell alone!”

He sighed, dragging a hand down his face, and sat on the edge of the bed. “Anna… listen to me. Please. I know you’re angry, I know you’re scared, but you honestly need to calm down. It’s not as deep as it feels right now. Mom will be fine. She has to be fine. She loves you too much not to come around.”

I turned my face away, my chest heaving with ragged breaths. His words were supposed to comfort me, but all they did was dig deeper into the storm in my chest.

He reached for my hand again, his voice lowering as he covered it with his own. “And this baby inside of you?” he whispered, his thumb brushing over my skin. “We’re having it, and I’ll be more than happy to take care of you, to take care of both of you. You’re mine, Anna, and I want this. Nothing is going to change that.”

His lips brushed against my forehead in a soft kiss, and then he lingered there, whispering, “Don’t worry. baby. You’re not going to be alone in this. We’re in this together. I’ll be with you every step of the way. If school worries you, I’ll support you in every way I can. You don’t have to carry this alone.”

My throat tightened. The words should have been soothing, but instead they made something inside me snap. I pushed his hand away and sat up, my voice sharp and shaking. “No, Ryan! You don’t get to decidethat for me Leave me the hell alone

“Anna-“

I cut him off with a cry that tore straight out of my chest. “I’m going to have an abortion!”

The silence that followed was deafening. His entire body froze, his eyes darkening in a way that made my stomach twist. I clenched my fists, forcing myself to keep speaking even as tears poured down my cheeks. “I won’t let this pregnancy ruin everything! I won’t let it tear this family apart. If removing this baby means everything goes back to normal, then I will, Ryan. I will.”

His breathing changed instantly, harsh and heavy, his chest rising and falling as if he had just been punched. His fists curled at his sides, his eyes burning with something I had never seen before. He looked at me like he couldn’t believe what he just heard, and then like he was seconds away from losing control.

“Anna,” he growled, his voice low, trembling with anger. “Don’t you dare.”

I swung my legs off the bed, trying to move past him, my tears blinding me. “You can’t stop me, Ryan-“

I didn’t even get to finish before his body moved. In a blur, he was on me, grabbing me before I could reach the door, spinning me and slamming me gently but firmly against the wall. My breath hitched as his hands locked around my wrists, pinning them above my head. His eyes were dark, furious, his face so close to mine that I could feel the heat of his breath on my lips.

“You are not removing this baby, Anna.” His voice was sharp, cutting, every word vibrating with rage. You’re having it. Don’t ever think of removing it. Don’t!”

“Ryan-“I gasped, my heart racing, my body trembling in both fear and something else, something I hated myself for feeling.

His grip tightened just slightly, his chest pressing against mine, his jaw clenched as if he was fighting to keep from breaking apart completely. “I swear to God, Anna,” he hissed, his forehead brushing mine, his voice raw. “This baby is MINE, and I won’t let you take it away. NEVER.”

And before I could argue, before I could scream or cry or say another word, his lips crashed onto mine, fierce and desperate, swallowing all my anger and tears in one consuming kiss.

RYAN’S POV

I slammed her against the wall harder, lifting her up as if I needed her close enough to feel every beat of my heart against hers, lifting her until her legs wrapped around me because I wasn’t giving her a chance to walk away, not again, not now, not when she was mine and carrying a part of me inside her. “You’re mine, Anna. Every part of you. Don’t you ever fucking forget that.”

“Ryan, stop, please-we’re in a hospital-this isn’t appropriate-” she whispered, her voice cracking, her fingers still clutching at my shoulders as if she didn’t know whether to push me off or hold me there.

“I don’t give a damn where we are,” I muttered as I bit her lips, swallowing her protests, kissing her like I was starving for her, like I’d been lost without her and just found the one thing I couldn’t live without. I kissed her until her mouth opened for me, until her gasps turned into soft moans, until her fingers stopped resisting and started grabbing fistfuls of my shirt as if she needed something to hold on to or else she’d fall apart.

Her whimpers were muffled against my mouth, but I felt them, every sound vibrating through me like electricity. I didn’t let her pull away. My hand tangled in her hair, pulling her head back just enough so I could bite at her neck, making her whimper again and again. My other hand gripped her ass, keeping her tight against my body while I ground my hips into hers, showing her exactly how much control I still had.

“You think you can walk away from me?” I growled against her skin, biting her jaw, moving my mouth back to hers. “You can’t, Anna. You’re carrying my baby. You belong to me. Whether you like it or not, whether you say it or not, you fucking belong to me.”

Her voice was shaking as she whispered, “Ryan, stop-” but her nails dug into the back of my neck, her legs tightened around my waist, her lips found mine again like her body was moving on instinct, betraying every word she was trying to say.

I didn’t give her a second to think. I pulled her off the wall, carried her across the room as if nothing else mattered, because it didn’t. Not her begging me to stop. Not the hospital room. Not the risk. Nothing mattered except the way she held on to me like I was the only thing anchoring her to the world. I laid her down on the bed and was on top of her in the next breath, not letting her go, not even for a second.

My hands were all over her, lifting her dress, grabbing her breast and squeezing it while she gasped under me, her eyes wide and glassy and so damn beautiful I wanted to lose myself in them. “I’ve missed you so fucking much,” I groaned, biting down on her collarbone, making her cry out, making her arch into me. “You drive me insane, Anna. Do you know that? You make me crazy. And now you’re talking about getting rid of my baby? No. No, not fucking happening. Over my dead fucking body.”
