Zuri was dead. She was as good as dead now.
This was even worse than the severed mate bond. Khaos would welcome the agony of it, but what he felt right now was hopelessness. He was helpless and didn’t know what to do to fill the void in his heart.
Even the most powerful gift that he got from the completion of the beauty blood couldn’t fill the void.
Khaos could kill anyone that close to him, he could let his shadow consumed them, since the shadow was no longer a thing, but it looked more like a creature from the darkness, which would plunge you to the abyss.
He could wipe the entire kingdom if he wanted to and dye every river in this realm with their blood, yet it still wouldn’t be enough to fill the void.
His beast was incense and the pain from the power couldn’t even stop it to feel the hollowness that Zuri left behind.
Khaos his beast to go feral. He let out the dark side within him, the cruelty that he had been controlling.
If Zuri was crazy because people saw her in her crazy state, where she couldn’t control the demon in her head, then people should have known that Khaos was also the same.
He was as crazy just like her, but the only difference was Khaos managed to control his cruel side, which only made him even more powerful. He was a bloodthirsty person. He needed to be in complete control to get the reign of his bloodlust.
But right now, Khaos didn’t even have any slightest desire to control it. He let his beasts to take over. And in the end, he ended up with a trail of blood as he killed anyone, whether it’s a foe or a friend.
Obviously, the ten dark magic users had been killed without any trace, consumed by the darkness that he commanded.
This was the ultimate power of the lycan. That was why it was so hard to achieve and the sacrifice of it was not small either.

When the morning came, the sky was cleared and the storm night was over. You knew that the lycan had gotten all the power that he needed.
It was over now.
This would be a new era, where the lycan dynasty, once again, stood tall and all the revenge would be avenged.
Bryden stared at the clear sky, he sighed in relief. He just wrote a letter to Ezra, asking him if he saw the same thing like him and his opinion about it.
He saw how the other two treasures of the lycan shone brightly last night and knew that the beauty blood had been completed. Bryden asked whether Ezra knew about it or not.
This moment, the beta felt this sense of relief to know they had done the right thing. Declan had fulfilled his promise to them, which was the completion of the beauty blood.
“You betrayed him again,” Rose said.
Bryden was too deep in his thought when he heard Rose’s voice and immediately turned around to face her. She looked beautiful in her purple dress, the color of this kingdom.
“Be careful with what you said,” Bryden growled at her. “I could have you removed from your position as the queen in this kingdom.”
“What?” Rose chuckled. “What kind of power that you have? You have no real power aside from being the lycan’s lap dog and now you betrayed him by having a collaboration with Declan,” Rose scoffed. “People from Terrence family is trouble.”
“Said someone, who planned to use their magic users to help Dacre in the war against Khaos.”
Rose rolled her eyes dramatically. “We were in war and I was in the opposite side, I will do everything to help and survive, but it only showed my loyalty.”
“But, in the end, you betrayed Dacre.”
“I did. But, at the very least, I did it because I wanted to survive, not because I thought I was better than Dacre.” Rose tilted her head. She stared at Bryden mockingly. “You thought you are better than the lycan. That’s why, you made your own decision, disregarded him. I wonder what he will do once he got his hand on you.”
Bryden’s eyes hardened. “He will understand.’
He didn’t want to continue with this conversation and walked away. Bryden was here to act as their advisor, the same thing that Ezra did in Wolfdale kingdom.
It was the idea of Khaos to plant his people close to the sovereign, so he could monitor them.
“I don’t think that’s a good thing to do to provoke the advisor,” Logan said, as he walked toward Rose. He stared at the mark on her neck.
He just marked her a few days ago, after a few months of their ceremony.
For Logan, Rose still felt off. Sometime, she felt genuine with her intention, but other time, she would prove to you of how cunning she could be.
And Logan knew for sure someone like that couldn’t have any genuine intention.
But they slowly built this mate bond between them. She showed effort to work on this relationship and Logan appreciated that.
Even though, it was still difficult for Logan to stand his ground. Rose was brilliant, all of her ideas were sound, which made Logan mostly agreed to it, but in retrospect, he couldn’t understand why people started to say that it was actually the queen, who ruled the kingdom, instead of the king.
Because that was what happened. Rose always managed to convince him to do something and see thing from her perspective.
“The lycan king will punish him,” Rose said softly, she approached Logan and took his hand. She could feel his heated gaze on her neck.
“What do you mean?” Logan narrowed his eyes. He didn’t understand why she said something like that.
“Bryden has committed a great crime against the lycan king.” And when Rose saw Logan still couldn’t get the meaning behind it, she then explained the thing that happened.
“Beauty blood…” Logan muttered. “What is the ultimate power of the lycan?” he asked curiously.
He didn’t know much about the lycan dynasty, since he was born two years after the massacre of the old dynasty and after that, the lycan history had been fabricated, there were not much you could find about the information of the lycan.
However, Logan have heard about the ritual from the old dynasty, but not about the beauty blood.
“I am not sure.” Rose leaned over and rested her face against Logan’s chest, she hugged him and it felt very natural. “But, from what Terrrence family knew, it’s something powerful, but also dark. After all, the beauty blood is created by inflicting curses on someone, a few dark magic users would be responsible for the ritual.”
Rose stared at the distance, she breathed in his scent, while Logan caressed her back, playing with her hair.
Logan liked their conversation. He liked her ideas and her view of the world, but at the same time, he started to hate the fact that he followed all of her advice when he was supposed to be the decision maker.
“The lycan will punish Bryden. I don’t know how severe the punishment will be, but it is best if we don’t associate with him for a while. This is for our best interest. In his rage, the lycan could kill us too.”
Actually, Rose was not completely wrong. She read the situation well. She had seen first hand how much the lycan cared about Zuri, even before he had the union with her.
She also knew why Caiden was stripped from his position and it was Gayle, who became Khaos’s gamma.
“Bryden is done for…” Rose said in low voice.
