Zuri sat on Khaos’s lap and straddled him.
This sight made Gayle looked at the other way since it was too intimate for him. Gayle was right when he thought this woman was not Zuri because, usually, even though Zuri couldn’t care less to her surrounding, she didn’t show such a display of affection , especially when there was someone nearby with them.
Currently, they were inside the tent, they were only two days away from the Great Palace. The journey was a little bit slow, since Zuri would request to stop every now and then.
“And then. What else? What else do you want to talk about with him?” Zuri showed her disliked with the fact Gayle was still there.
Gayle had trained Zuri for quite a while, therefore he felt there was a connection with her, even though they were not always in good term, but at the very least, he knew her, yet he didn’t feel that connection with this Zuri at all.
He felt like he was talking and seeing someone else differently, someone with her face and her voice, but the truth was; this was a completely different person.
“What else do you want to talk about? If there is nothing else, you can leave, you waste our time.”
Once again, Gayle took a deep breath, which made him cursed under his breath because he made another mistake.
He immediately shook his head, trying to focus on what he was going to say and then leave this tent since he couldn’t handle the sweetness in the air. He felt lightheaded, right now.
“Khaos, I think you need to talk with the other warrior. They have been on edge, since you have not yet talked with them about what happened. They felt disconnected from you.”
“Why those warriors have so much demand?” Zuri sneered. She didn’t like it at all.
“They are not demanding Zuri,” Gayle said. “They want the Alpha to talk to them and lead them.”
Zuri raised her brows. “Do you think Khaos is not leading them right now?”
“You have been occupying his time a lot Zuri. It’s not really good, because the warrior will look at him differently.”
“What do you mean with ‘the warrior will look at him differently’? Are they going to rebel against Khaos?” Zuri turned her body around to look at Gayle. “Are they going to disobey his order again?”
“No, of course not. That’s not what I meant,” Gayle quickly explained the situation, yet Zuri simply didn’t want to hear that.
“They are very demanding. I don’t like them. If they kept doing that, why don’t you just kill them all? They are not that important right?” Zuri turned her body and then look at Khaos. She asked for a validation and Khaos gave it to her.
“We will kill them all, if they are going to rebel.” Khaos played with her hair. He didn’t even look at Gayle’s direction.
That statement made Gayle’s stomach churned with discomfort. Khaos was really giving everything to Zuri. He didn’t care of anything else, even if that was not right.
Probably right now Zuri was using Khaos’s guilt to make him agreed with all of her demand.
“And what else do you want to talk about? We don’t have time for you all day.”
“That’s all. That’s all what I wanted to tell you.” Gayle looked at Zuri grimly, but she looked away before she could notice that. And after that, Gayle immediately left the room. He didn’t want to breathe that sweetness anymore.
When he was outside, he stumbled because he was a little bit high. He then looked for Dezgar.
“I am not sure if this is the right thing, but sure enough, you have made a big mistake to give Khaos an idea about how to save Zuri,” Gayle grumbled as he closed his eyes and shook his head to get rid of the dizziness.
The air felt refreshing, especially with a hint of rain. It started to rain again now.
Dezgar dismissed the magic user with him and then faced Gayle. He looked at him with pity in his eyes. He had been avoiding Khaos’s tent too, since he couldn’t handle the drug.
Above them, the sky looked gloomy, indicating it would rain again.
Gayle was a little bit high right now, even though he only stayed inside the tent for half an hour. He couldn’t understand how Khaos managed to stay in such a place, breathing into the drug all day and all night, getting high together with Zuri.
But, even so, he didn’t show any sign that he was actually not in control of himself, even when he was actually high as well.
Gayle didn’t know whether he had to admire the lycan for that or what.
“Well, I have warned Khaos about it and he agreed to the consequences.” Dezgar defended himself.
“I still think you are a jerk for the idea. You shouldn’t have suggested such thing.”
“What? Are you upset with me because of that?” Dezgar scowled. “I tried to save myself, okay? The lycan will obviously chew me alive if I couldn’t come up with a solution to save Zuri.”
Gayle growled at Dezgar. “I am not. But right now, Khaos is not himself. He looked like he will agree with everything that Zuri said.”
Khaos was still trying to cope up with the fact that he almost lost Zuri. That fear was what led him to act like this and let her to do whatever.
“You are right, you can say that it’s Zuri, who has been taking the decision,” Dezgar agreed with that.
“It shouldn’t be like this,” Gayle muttered under his breath. Both of them walked away. They had not yet moved again, because Zuri didn’t feel like it, that was why they had built the tent, since afternoon.
“It doesn’t take a genius to tell that it was actually Zuri who has been ordering us all this time.”
Gayle said nothing about that. Both of them knew it was right.
The magic user glanced at the gamma, who walked beside him. “I suggest to you, not to say anything about what you are thinking because in Khaos current state he may kill you simply because you have such a thought about his mate.”
Khaos would always side with Zuri. His guilty conscience, the thought that he was the one who had put her into harm, would push Khaos to atone for his action by letting Zuri to do whatever.
“Yeah, I knew. You don’t need to worry about that. I can keep my mind, my mouth shut.”
“Good.” Dezgar gave him three red leaves. “Here, chew on this, you will feel better.”
Gayle didn’t even think twice before he chewed on the leaves. It has spiciness but it helped him with the side effect of the drug, which was good since he didn’t have any plan to get high all the time.
This was the reason why he had limited his contact with Khaos because every time he had to see him, he had to deal with the drug as well.
“In this rate, I don’t think Khaos will attack Great Lunar kingdom,” Dezgar suddenly said.
“Why do you think like that?”
“Isn’t this very obvious?” Dezgar raised his brows, stared at Gayle with critic.
“What do you mean?” Gayle must have smoked the drug so much to the point he couldn’t even think clearly. It would take a while before his mind became sharp again.
“You know that the drug came from the Great Lunar kingdom, right? It was brought by sir Bairone. If they play their card well, I don’t think Khaos will attack them as long as they provide the drug for Zuri.”
After all, Zuri’s life depended on it.
