Life’s Spiced Up with Some Werewolf Reads

Chapter 168 – The Alpha Prince and His Bride (Lucy & Austin) Novel Free Online by LaurG

I couldn’t believe that she could sit here and talk about this so easily. Just hearing how much she’d betrayed Hunter was enough to make me want to scream and knock her head against the wall. I couldn’t imagine what would happen when Hunter found out the truth about her faked death.

“These past five years I’ve done my best to stay hidden from Hunter and anyone that may have known either one of us. If anyone saw me I would get my friend’s help to wipe their memories. I had the pleasure of watching Hunter pine for me however and that made the hiding all worth it. He looked so pathetic and vulnerable that it made me so happy. My plan was working perfectly and I would have left him pining for me for a few more years. Of course that is when you entered the picture and spoiled everything for me. He started to feel happiness again though you and I realized that I couldn’t let him get any closer to you than he’d already gotten. So that is when I showed up in front of Bruce and I knew that he would tell Hunter that he’d seen me. That’s exactly what happened. However that was still not enough to break both of you up. That’s when I decided to show up in front of him and make up that whole crazy story that you foolish people believed.”

“You’re sick in the head.” I snared. Hunter had to suffer while she enjoyed every bit of it.

“You’re not listening Isabella.” She said. “You don’t know anything about me.”

“All I know is that he loved you.” I shouted. “He loved you and he worshipped you. He cared about you so much that his entire life was destroyed after he’d thought that you were dead. He even blamed himself for your faked death when he had absolutely nothing to do with it. You were never deserving of Hunter’s love. You never deserved him and you still don’t!” I screamed.

“now I know why your bond was broken. He was definitely your mate, wasn’t he?” I demanded. “It must have been hard for you to see him with me. Knowing that you were losing the man that once would do anything you asked of him. But it was your entire fault. You rejected him without really knowing it. When you chose to hurt him over and over again he was given another chance at love and that’s where I came in. I’m the happiest person in the world now that I have the love of Hunter. There is no man like him in this universe and you’ve just lost someone that would have cherished you till the day you died. Why am I even complaining? Because of you I was given a chance to show him what true love actually is.”

I could see that my words were affecting Maggie badly and I knew that I should have stopped. However, I needed to say what I had to. She needed to realize her terrible mistake. She needed to see how good of a person Hunter really was and she needed to see that she’d lost someone precious!

The council members were all seated and waiting for me when I returned. All of their eyes were on me and I could sense the tension in the room. They were all confused on how to act with my betrayal and their shock was only helping my situation.

“Why did you destroy the wedding Hunter?” The prosecutor asked. “I thought that we had an understanding. You’re on our side or have you already forgotten that?”

I narrowed my eyes.

“Isabella was given to me. I was told that she was mine and all her ties with you had been cut.” I snarled. “Then why did you trap her back here and order her to remarry?”

His brows rose in confusion.

“We heard that your wife had returned and we assumed that you didn’t want Isabella anymore. Had we known that you desired her in anyway … We would have never proposed such a thing. Instead we would have given her back to you without a fuss.” The prosecutor confessed.

“The damage has already been done.” I roared. “You directly betrayed our relationship with your actions and for this I no longer want to do business with you.”

All of the members present gasped at my words as each of them looked at me as though I’d lost my mind for even speaking those words.

“I cut all ties with you from today onwards.” I growled. “Your biggest mistake was to try to get my mate married to someone else but me. Consider yourselves my enemies from now on. If you ever step in my territory, I will kill you.”

The shock on the prosecutor’s face did not surprise me one bit. I always knew that I was extremely beneficial to them and they never wanted to lose me as a client. This would rock the council a lot harder than anything else may have rocked it in the past.

“Please reconsider your decision.” The prosecutor pleaded almost desperately. I could tell that this was a dent to his pride but he truly was desperate to keep me.

“You have nothing to offer me anymore. It’s over.”

“Actually,” he said suddenly almost as if a bulb had clicked on in his head. “There is one thing that may interest you.”

Something about his tone of voice as well as the look on his face bothered me. “And what is that?”

“Isabella’s brothers are locked in the dungeons. I’m sure she would like them to be out and free again. If you agree to stay with us, we will let them go and promise not to put them in there again.”

My jaw clenched.

Isabella’s family meant the world to her. If they were unhappy she would also be unhappy.

Damn it!

What other choice did I have now?

“Deal.” I growled.

This would just be for a little while however. I would find a way to get Isabella’s family out of the council and when I did, it was over for these bastards!

I was still pulsing with fury when I exited the council. There was a sudden piercing howl that travelled all the way down my spine.

I would know that howl anywhere since it was a cry for help from one of my men. Then realization kicked in and I was shifting before I had a chance to even blink.

Isabella … She was with them.

I was racing through the woods and my heart was beating ferociously. I needed to get to her. I needed to make sure that she was safe and that nothing had happened. Her scent was becoming stronger and so was the scent of my men. They had to be close.

I stopped as soon as I spotted the jeep and immediately shifted back to my human form.

“Where is she?” I asked hoarsely after seeing the mess in front of me. There had been a crazy fight and my men were beaten up pretty badly. There was no sight of Isabella amongst them and it sparked a fear deep within me.

“WHERE IS MY MATE?” I roared, shaking the trees around me.

“T-they took her … I’m s-sorry.”

My b***d roared in my ears and I felt myself fall forward a bit. Someone had taken her? Who?

Who was crazy enough to take my mate from me?
