Life’s Spiced Up with Some Werewolf Reads

Chapter 185 – Lycan Prince’s Slave Mate (Madelyn & Jaxson) Novel Free Online by Jess

“He really is such a creep” Madelyn commented, as we climbed into the back of the car “He reminds me so much of Scott”

“Well unfortunately, you’ll have to deal with him from time to time”

“Unless we kill him and make it look like an accident”

I laughed and pulled her closer “Now, I like your thinking” I kissed her throat “But I don’t think Cody would like coming home to find us both in jail”

“That’s where the whole, accident situation comes into it”

I laughed again “I’ll think about it” I told her, as we drove home.

“Thank you for distracting me tonight” She smiled, and curled up against me an hour later, and after a nice long bath.

“I have no idea what you’re talking about?”

“Yeah right” She laughed, and placed her leg over my lap, while her hand rubbed up and down my chest.

I looked over at her, and stared at her lips “Are you tired?”

“A little” She shrugged “Why? Did you want to stay up and do something?”

“Always” I commented, and pulled her lips to mine.

I tried to go easy on her tonight, but slow and steady was never my thing, and I ended up giving in to my baser instincts, and scr*wing her until she was screaming out my name, after which I allowed her sleep, pulling her into my arms.

I don’t know how long we were alseep for, before I heard Madelyn’s screams, they cut through my own dream, and I jumped in fright, as I woke up.

“Easy, Madelyn, sweetheart” I shook her awake “It’s alright, it was just a dream, you’re safe, wake up!”

She was breathing hard, taking big gulps of air.

“I don’t understand” She cried “Why do I keep having nightmares about my past? When I was living through it all, I never had nightmares”

“That’s probably because you had a lot of adrenaline coursing through you at the time” I told her, as I ran my fingers through her soft hair “But now that you’re safe, your mind’s probably trying to make sense of it all, and it’s freaking out”

“Are you saying I’m crazy?”

I laughed and kissed her nose “You have to be at least a little crazy to be mated to me and Cody, I’m sure we pull you in two different directions every day, it must be hard to navigate”

“Not really” She shrugged, and wiped her cheeks, but then she frowned and looked up at me “You’re really good at that”

“At what?”

“Distracting me” She smiled.

“We each have our talents” I kissed her cute little nose again “Close your eyes, and try to get back to sleep”

“I love you Jax”

“You should, I’m pretty f*cking perfect” She giggled and hit my chest, so I took her hand and weaved my fingers through hers “And I love you too”

KODA’S POV

Flynn raced after the train that Skler was currently on. I kept reminding him to slow down, the Beta’s weren’t as fast as us, but it had been months since I’d let him go wild, and he was difficult to rain in.

The further away from the city we got, the harder I found it to focus. If I didn’t trust my brother more than anyone else on the planet, I could never leave my mate.

We’d left 4 hours ago, and all I could think about was Maddie, but Flynn was having the time of his life, jumping over small rivers that cut our path, and scaring herds of deer we passed.

Once every hour, we stopped, so I could shift, and check that Sky was still on the train, before we pressed on through the woods again.

The sun had set by the time we arrived in Sky’s old pack, and we secretly watched her return to her family’s home, that we’d left vacant after our people searched it.

Thanks to Maddie’s memories she’d shared, I knew this area well, and led my team to a large clearing by a waterfall to camp for the night. The mountain behind us would give us cover and no one would be able to see the smoke of the fire we’d need. The wind was especially cool this evening.

“Set up the fire” I ordered through the link “I want the patrol in groups of two, 3-hour shifts each, Danny, you and I will go first. I want to get a good lay of the land, stay by the house and let me know if Skyler leaves”

“Yes your majesty”

Flynn and I made our way to the shed, even though we’d had it burnt down, I needed to see it for myself, this was the source of my girl’s pain, and I needed to see it with my own eyes.

I shifted back, and walked around the burnt out building barefooted, the shed’s perimeter was smaller than I’d thought it was, and I couldn’t stop Maddie’s memories from filling my mind, her being whipped until she passed out, her begging her mercy, the way he’d dragged her inside by her hair and locked the shed door, that clicking sound of the lock being latched, sent chills down my spine. And Maddie had lived through it all. She was a strong woman, I was lucky to have someone like her by my side.

I growled and picked up a burnt knife half poking out under a beam, and lifted it in my hand, gripping it tightly as images of slicing Troy’s throat with it came to mind.

After I composed myself, I shifted and Flynn ran down the perimeter of the woods, only stopping when we came across Danny’s Lycan, Arlo, lying on a thick branch, and overlooking the house.

Flynn, not wanting another Lycan to be higher than him, pounced onto a branch above Arlo’s, and laid down to keep vigil watch on the house.

We watched the light coming from the windows, but otherwise, nothing happened. Sky was clearly in for the evening, a part of me wanted to sneak into the house and look around Maddie’s old bedroom, but Sky would hear me, or smell my scent, and our whole plan would be over.

I kept hoping Troy would show up, but the 3 hours passed, and no Troy, so we switched out for two other guards, Nash and Cameron, and went to camp.

Flynn shifted, and I pulled on a pair of pants, the wind was cool, and I quickly bent, and started rummaging around in my bag for a jumper, but I smiled when I saw the bracelet on my wrist. I smelt my wrist, enjoying my mate’s scent coming from her hair for a moment before the wind picked up again, and I quickly pulled on the jumper.

“Alpha, we saved you some food”

“Thanks” I grabbed a plate that was sitting on a rock.

As I ate the few pieces of fish, one of the men had caught and cooked, I leaned up against my sleeping bag and longed for Julia’s cooking.

“Did you hear that?” One of the men asked.

“Would you relax Jayden” Another one of the men, Ace, laughed “For the last time, this forest isn’t haunted”

“Haunted?” I asked, with a mouth full of food.

“You’ve never heard the rumors, Alpha?” Milo asked, and kicked Jayden’s leg.

“What rumors?”

“About the burning women?” Joey answered.

“Please don’t tell me you believe in ghost stories?” I scoffed.

“This one’s true, Alpha” Danny grabbed the last plate of food and sat with his back up against a tree to eat “Go on Jay, tell the Alpha”

Jay sat up, looking animated, and very eager, and after he took a swig from his flask, he waved his hand “Let me paint the picture for you, Alpha” He said ominously “Picture it if you will, the war was wrapping down, the tensions high and the werewolves on the run, those that were left, all pleading with your father, declaring their loyalty, but still, one by one, werewolves were vanishing”
