“Alpha, what’s happened?” Tony asked, as he came running out of his office, wiping his mouth, he must have been having lunch.
“Silver poisoning” I answered, as the nurse and Tony pushed Madelyn on the bed, into the nearest room “She was cut across the cheek”
“Luna, I need you to move your hand” Tony tried to move her hand, but Madelyn growled, and pulled away.
“It hurts” She wept, again.
“It’s going to be okay, my love” I tried to soothe her, as she continued to cry in pain “Sedate her!”
The healer, Tony, quickly grabbed something from a nearby fridge, and injected Madelyn with something, and she slowly closed her eyes.
Once she was out, Tony gently moved her head to the side, and examined the damage. I held Madelyn’s hand, shaking badly, her skin was still burning and blood was still flowing.
“This is very deep” Tony told me “It will leave a scar”
“Is there anything you can do to prevent that?”
“I’ve had some success with cutting away the silver burn” He told me “I can cut away the silver burn, and sew up the none damaged area, and the Luna will heal normally”
“How many times have you tried this before?” I asked, as I kissed my girl’s hand.
“A few times, your majesty” He told me “Just, never on the face, it may still scar”
I looked at her cheek, the cut was bad, and if I left it like this, it would definitely scar. I knew Koda wouldn’t care, and nor did I, but Madelyn was already self-conscious about her scars on her back, this would break her.
“Do it”
“I’ll take her into surgery now” He told me “Please wait here, your majesty”
“Right, of course” I kissed my girl “I love you, I’ll be right here”
I watched Madelyn getting wheeled away, and I started pacing up and down in the room, I felt so guilty, if I’d gone to lunch with her, like she’d asked, then this wouldn’t have happened.
I wanted to hit something, I wanted to rip something apart.
“We need to tell Koda and Flynn” Knox told me.
“No, not yet” I shook my head “Let’s wait until she’s out of surgery, and we know more”
“Jax?” I heard Evet, and there was a knock on the door “May I come in?”
I just nodded, and went back to pacing.
“Uncle Theo told me what happened. How is she?”
“She’s in surgery, I don’t know how she is”
“Can I get you anything?”
I shook my head “I just want silence”
“Okay” She said, and sat down in a chair in the corner.
I tried to keep my temper in check, and just continued to pace, but two hours later, I had, had enough.
“Tony, I want an update” I linked him, but there was no response “TONY, ANSWER ME!”
I walked out of the room angrily, and flagged down the first nurse I saw “You, what’s your name?”
“Gina, your majesty” The young red-haired girl told me.
“Go check on my mate, I want to know what’s going on, and tell Tony, if he ignores my links again, I’ll rip his fangs out”
Gina’s eyes widened in fear “I’m sure he meant no disrespect, your majesty” She defended him “He is probably just concentrating”
“Why are you still standing here?” I snapped, and the girl quickly bowed and rushed off.
“Jaxson” My mother said, as she came down the hallway “Don’t threaten the staff, they’re trying to help your mate”
“Like you care” I spat “I brought her here two hours ago, and you’re only just showing up now”
“I have been trying to calm down the pack” She informed me “Seeing their Luna bleeding and being carried from the Tower, put everyone into a frenzy. I can’t just drop everything and be by your side”
“What ever” I growled, but then I frowned when I noticed blood on her sleeve “Are you injured?”
“What?” She looked down “Oh, no, that is Cole’s, I had to force him to come to the hospital. What you did was rash, and unjustified”
“What I did, was no more than he deserved!” I snapped and marched back into the room.
“Jaxson, Cole was” My mother sounded pleading.
“DONT!” I shouted, knowing that this could get me arrested “I DON’T WANT TO HEAR IT, HE HURT MY MATE, I DON’T GIVE A F*CK IF IT WAS AN ACCIDENT, I’VE TOLD HIM FOR YEARS TO TAKE OFF THAT STUPID RING, BUT HE REFUSED, WELL NOW HE’S REEPING THE CONSEQUENCES” OF HIS ACTIONS!”
“Jax, calm down” My mother warned, as her guards walked over to us.
I laughed at them “Back the f*ck off” I warned them “I’m not in the mood, come at me, and I’ll kill all of you!”
“Stand down” My mother said quickly, and they looked relieved and backed away “Jaxson, I know you’re in pain, but when you calm down, you will feel guilty about Cole, and”
“Alpha” I turned to see Gina by the door “I’m sorry to interrupt”
“What’s happening?”
“The Luna is doing well” She told me “Surgery is wrapping up now, and she should be out within the hour, but, Healer Tony, said he couldn’t hear you link him, in-fact, we tried linking while I was in the room with him, and he couldn’t hear me, or I him, there’s something blocking us with in that room”
“It must be Madelyn” My mother commented “Her mother could prevent people from linking, she may have inherited that ability, and is projecting her power somehow”
“It doesn’t matter right now” I ran my fingers through my hair, and tried to steady my breathing “As long as she’s okay, thank you Gina”
“You’re welcome, Alpha”
After she left, I went back to my pacing, and self-loathing, for not being my mate when this happened. I swore she’d never know pain again, and now she in surgery once more.
About fifty, agonizing minutes later, the door opened, and two nurses wheeled my girl in, my heart started to race, and I could hardly wait for them to set her up, and move, before I rushed to her side, and took her hand.
Just like last time, the blood transfusion had altered her scent, and I cringed in disgust. Before I could dwell to much on her scent, Tony walked in.
“How did it go?” I asked, and kissed her hand “Show me her cheek”
