“It went perfectly” He told me, and carefully pulled back the bandage that he’d placed over her cheek “Her healing is already kicking in, but the silver poisoned her blood, so I have her on medication to burn it off, and it will slow down the healing process, I’d say, she’ll be fully healed by tomorrow night, or the next morning”
“Good” I nodded, and looked at her cheek. I tried not to be sick.
Her cheek was stitched up, and there was a gross green paste over it, that smelt like rust, but I knew it was necessary to help with the silver.
“Thank you doctor” I sat down, and held her hand to my lips again “Cover the wound”
KODA’S POV
“Koda” Jax linked me, as I laid back bored, and watched the men play cards by the fire.
“Hey”
“What are you doing?”
“Watching the men play cards” I answered with little interest “I don’t know how you play this cr*p, it’s so boring, oh, and we found nothing in the house. I’m going to check out a cabin tomorrow but..”
“Stop talking, I need you to walk away from the men” Jax ordered “I need to talk to you, and you might lose control”
“Why would I lose control?” I asked, instantly nervous, as I shot up, and walked towards a group of trees with my heart racing “Has something happened? Is Maddie alright?”
“Are you away from the men?”
“YES, NOW ANSWER ME!”
“She’s going to be okay, so don’t lose it” He warned me “But Madelyn’s in the hospital”
“WHAT HAPPENED!?”
He filled me in, and I was furious, I wanted to shift and run straight home, and rip Cole apart.
“SHOW ME!” I shouted “I WANT TO SEE HER!”
He quickly pulled me into his mind, and we joined. I found myself in a hospital room, with Maddie lying unconscious in the bed
“Oh my goddess!” I gasped “HOW COULD YOU NOT TELL ME THE SECOND THIS HAPPENED!”
“I just wanted to have more information to tell before contacting you” He tried to defend himself “I didn’t want you to worry, while you were so far away”
“THAT’S NOT YOUR DECISION TO MAKE!” I shouted, and punched the nearest tree. The men fell silent, and looked at me in concern “SHE’S MY MATE TOO! TAKE THE BANAGE OFF!”
He exhaled, and carefully pulled the bandage from her cheek, showing the huge wound that was stitched together.
“Cole did this?” I asked, his voice shaking.
“I’ve already punished him, don’t worry”
“I’m coming home”
“No, you have to find Troy, Madelyn is fine now, and I’ll keep her close”
“You can’t seriously think I’m just going to stay here while Maddie is in hospital!?”
“Koda, I have her, and you need to finish what you started, so you can come home”
“Kiss her. I need to feel her”
Jax leaned forward, and gently pressed his lips against hers. She was freezing, and I couldn’t stand that I was so far from her.
“Get her another blanket, she’s cold”
“I’ll take care of it” He said, as someone knocked on the door “I have to go, but I promise I will let you know when she wakes up”
“Thanks” I said, as I tried to calm myself down “Don’t leave her damn side”
“I won’t, please don’t let this distract you, she’s going to be okay”
We ended our connection, and I screamed angrily and punched the tree again, causing it to crack loudly.
“Alpha is everything okay?”
“My mate’s in the hospital!” I shouted “I need to shift, I will return later”
I shifted and let Flynn take control, so I could let myself fall apart. Flynn flew through the forest, attacking trees, and even took down and devoured a large buck, just so he could kill something, and take out his rage.
It was late into the night when I returned, and all the men kept their distance, and let me stew.
I couldn’t sleep, and when the sun started coming up, Danny and I went to change out the guards. I was still on edge, and I was over waiting, I wanted to find this pr*ck and get home to my mate.
I was pacing around the tree line, trying to hold myself back, while Danny watched me silently, and then finally around 9am when Jax linked me to let me know Maddie was awake, I snapped.
“SCR*W THIS SH*T!” I shouted “Get the men!”
I didn’t wait for a response, and marched over to the house. I kicked the door in. Alarms started going off, as I walked up the stairs after Sky’s scent, and found her pulling on a dressing gown, and looking terrified as she ran from the room to find me.
“WHAT ARE YOU DOING HERE?!” She shouted angrily “I WAS LET GO, YOU HAVE NO RIGHTS TO”
What ever rights she thought I didn’t have, I’ll never know, because I grabbed her by the throat, and slammed her into the wall.
“YOU ARE GOING TO CALL YOUR FATHER, AND HAVE HIM MEET ME OR I WILL KILL YOU!”
Still holding her by her throat, I pulled her back into her room, a massive two-room area with a Queen four-poster bed. I pulled her towards her bed and threw her down. I picked up the phone that she was charging on her beside table, and threw it at her.
“I’M NOT PLAYING GAMES” I warned her, while she cried and rubbed her throat “I KNOW YOU’RE STILL IN CONTACT WITH YOUR FATHER, SO CALL HIM, NOW!” I used my command.
If I’d just done this in the first f*cking place, we could have saved so much time, but some werewolves could ignore our commands.
Skyler shakily picked up her phone, and started pressing the screen “Daddy?” She wept, as she held the phone to her ear “You have to help me, Alpha Koda is going to kill me unless you meet with him”
“Will he?” Troy responded, sounding unfazed, but then there was a long paused “Okay’ He shocked me “I’ll meet him, where?”
“Here!”
“No” He obviously heard me “I will never step foot in that house again, not without my mate”
“Your cabin then”
“How do you know about my cabin?”
