I smirked, as her mother scolded him, and told him to stop pointing.
“How adorable was he”
“You know” Jax hugged me from behind and whispered into my ear “Your next heat is a few months away, if you got pregnant, then in a few years we’d be dragging our own children around the festival”
“I tell you what” I pulled out of his grip and held up my fist “I win, and you don’t bring up kids until I do, you win, we have kids during my next heat”
“Oh, you’re on” Jaxsons laughed, and held up his fist “One and done”
“Don’t you dare lose” Koda smirked, as he crossed his arms and watched eagerly.
“On three” I ordered.
“One” Jax started the countdown.
“Two” I went on.
“Three” Koda smiled.
We shook our hands, and I held up a fist, but Jax did paper. His eyes widened with excitement, and wrapped his hand around mine.
“I WIN!” He shouted, excitedly, and I noticed a few pack members jump in fright, and walk away from us.
“Best two out of three” I said quickly.
“No way!” Koda laughed “You lost fair and square”
I giggled and shook my head “We will revisit this before my next heat”
“You bet we will” Jaxson laughed, and kissed my fist he was still holding.
I pulled away, and turned away from my mates, who were both looking so smug and high-fived.
The crowd was growing as we passed the stalls, and I noticed a few more of the children pointing at us, which didn’t help the air of smugness around the twins.
“Is Lilah at the festival today?” I asked, when I saw a little girl that had similar features.
“Who?” Jax looked at me in confusion.
“Seriously?” Koda rolled his eyes “The young girl from the orphanage”
“Oh” He shrugged “No idea, probably”
“Can’t we check?”
“Sweetheart, she’s not your responsibility. Don’t worry about her and enjoy yourself”
“I’m her Luna!” I said, my voice stern “She is my responsibility”
“Okay, I’ll check” Koda said quickly, to calm me down.
He went silent as we walked over to a jeweler, but then he touched my shoulder “She’s been living with one of the nurses from the hospital, and she is at the festival today with the nurse’s children. She is safe and happy”
“Good” I smiled in relief, as I touched a few of the items.
“Do you like anything?” Jax leaned forward and hugged me from behind, resting his head on my shoulder while I scanned the stall.
I smirked and turned in his arms, as I looked him up and down “Yes”
“You can like me later” He linked me, before picking up a very pretty hair pin, and placing it into my hair with the others “Right now though, you can make do with this”
After he paid the man, we continued walking, and in Koda’s case, eating, towards the massive arena. We were escorted to a large private area that, according to the twins, had the best view.
The crowd seemed extremely pumped, and you could feel the excitement in the air. Everyone was chanting songs and chatting loudly. I’d never experienced that hype of a fight before, and truthfully, I didn’t want to see the fights at all. Ava on the other hand, was fully alert, and super excited.
When the guard opened the gate for us to go into the private box, I gripped the twins hands tighter, when I saw Blake sitting next to her mother.
The King, Queen, Queen mother Kaiya, Evet and Cole were all sitting together, but I noticed that Evet and Cole seemed very annoyed by Blake’s presence, and I felt a rush of gratitude to them.
“What the f*ck is she doing here!?” Jaxson marched over to her.
“I allowed her to come” King Theo announced “It’s the Goddess festival, no one should be excluded”
“Do you care about Madelyn at all!?” Jax turned on his father, as I glared at Blake, who was looking down.
“Jaxson, stop making a scene” His grandmother ordered.
“Stay out of this!” Jaxson snapped, shocking everyone “I asked you a question, Madelyn is our mate, and you constantly ignore Blake’s disrespect due to your relationship with your Beta”
“We’re done putting up with it” Koda added “She is leaving right now!”
“Why are you so quiet?” The King asked me “How do you feel about her presence here?”
I looked at Blake, I never thought I’d hate someone as much as I hated Troy, but I was wrong.
“Luna Madelyn” Blake said nervously, before I could respond “I’ve had time to think, and I’m truly sorry for everything I have done to you, I wasn’t thinking clearly because of my jealousy, and I acted out of character”
“I doubt that” I said firmly before turning to the King “How do I feel? I feel like I don’t want her here, or anywhere near me!”
The twins looked at me with an impressed expression.
“Is that so?” He looked at me with a smirk. Had he pushed me on purpose?
“Yes, I get that everyone deserves to show thanks to the Goddess, but she can do that elsewhere” I snapped, and turned back to Blake, who was looking upset. Please, she was a fake b*tch, just like Sky “Take your apology and shove it”
The King leaned back, and placed his arm over his mate, who was smiling over me “About time you stood up for yourself” He sounded impressed “Blake, your mother is welcome to stay in the royal area, but you are no longer welcome, perhaps one day, if your Luna forgives you, you will be welcome back”
“That day will never happen” Koda announced, and walked over to the gate, and pushed it open “Goodbye”
Blake looked at her mother, who stood up “I will come with you” She said gently “Come along Blake”
Blake stood up, and looked sadly at Koda, making me want to knock her out. Clearly, her false apology was for his sake and not mine, and if I hadn’t grown up watching Skyler, and her false apologies, maybe it would have worked on me.
As Blake passed me, she bowed “I really am sorry, Luna, I know you don’t believe me, but I am”
“You’re right, I don’t” I stepped away from her, and purposely snuggled up to Koda to hurt her, which I was thrilled to see in her eyes, that it worked.
Once she left, Jaxson sat down, and reached for me “Come and sit down”
