He shook Jaspers hand, before turning and walking back over to us, and I found myself getting up and rushing over to the railing before I realized what I was doing.
I was getting a little annoyed at his slow pace returning, as he walked and waved to the crowd, but finally, he came back to the area we were watching from, and jumped over the railing.
I hugged him tightly, not caring at all, that he was covered in dirt, sweat and blood “Are you okay?”
“I’m fine, sweetheart” He kissed my head, and pulled back “Careful, don’t ruin your dress”
“Here” Koda tossed him a hand towel, and I quickly looked around for something. There was a bouquet of flowers, so I pulled Jax towards it.
“What are you doing?” He inquired in confusion, but when I touched his wound, he exhaled patiently, knowing I wanted to heal him.
The flowers died, but Jax’s neck healed perfectly, and my mark was fine, just as Koda had promised me.
“Are you feeling better now?” Jax asked, and touched my cheek.
I nodded, and gently touched my mark “Don’t let anyone damage my mark again”
“Never again” He smirked and wiped his face “I’m going to go to the bathroom to wash up, I’ll meet you all in the dining tent for lunch”
“Perfect” Koda clapped “I could use a snack”
I rolled my eyes and laughed, as Koda reached out his hand “Let him clean up, and come with me, we’ll wait in the parking lot”
I nodded, and went Cody, to wait in the parking lot, and when Jax caught up, his hair was wet, but he looked a lot better.
“Ready?” He reached out his hand
“Yep”
Together the three of us, walked hand in hand to the tower, where, in the garden, large white tents had been erected and set up for lunch.
“We’ll be having lunch with all the fighters” Koda told me “And some of the higher ranking pack members?”
“Okay”
I was holding Jaxson’s hand as we walked over to the table, but Jasper saw us and made a B line towards us. I heard Jaxson exhale in annoyance, but when I looked up at him, he just smiled.
“Alpha” Jasper said way too smugly for a guy who just got his ass handed to him “Luna, it’s lovely to finally meet you, I was a little offended that you picked a Gema over me as your champion, but I won in the end, even without your support, did you enjoy the fights today?”
“Not really” I admitted “I’ve never seen the point of hurting people to show your strength”
“How odd” He said, as his eyes ran up and down my body “You did grow up with dogs though, so I suppose you’d never seen true strength or power until coming here”
“Being able to beat someone isn’t strength” I told him “Being able to and not doing it, is strength. Look at Jax for instant, he was playing with you during your match, because even with that drug in his system, you didn’t stand a chance against his skill level, so he chose not to hurt you”
Jasper’s smug look vanished, and the others in the tent started whispering and a few of the girls laughed.
“Didn’t stop me from getting a good scratch in” Jasper commented “I was going for him face, but I thought it would hurt more if I got his mark”
Ava and I saw red instantly. I don’t even know where this rage came from, but it burst out of me before I could even realize what I was doing.
I growled and threw up my hand, using the air around us to chock him. He gasped in pain and fell to his knees, and I walked over to him.
“ABOUT THAT!” I shouted and grabbed his chin “IF YOU EVER DAMAGE MY MARK LIKE THAT AGAIN, I WILL RIP YOUR SPINE OUT THROUGH YOUR ARROGANT MOUTH!”
“I’m sorry, Luna” He managed to get out in between gasps of air.
I leaned closer and looked into his eyes “And don’t ever check me out again, you pervert!”
“Madelyn, let him go please” Jaxson said calmly, as if I wasn’t choking someone to death.
I released the air around his throat, and he fell forward onto his hands, taking deep breaths and coughing.
“See” I said, all anger gone now “I have the power to hurt you and yet, I chose to let you go, you have no idea what true strength is”
“What the hell did I miss?” I heard Koda say, as Jasper shakily stood up, and glared at me before walking back over to his table.
I turned to look at Koda who was holding two plates, one over flowing with food, and the other with a more appropriately portioned meal.
“Just a lesson in power” Jax responded, sounding amused “You could have gotten me a plate too, and not just you and Madelyn”
Koda frowned in confusion and looked at his plates “What? These are both mine”
I laughed and shook my head “Typical” I took Jaxson’s hand again, and we walked over to the buffet.
“I was kidding” Koda called out after us “Baby, ones for you”
I ignored him, and got myself a plate of food, before walking over to where Koda was sitting with Evet and Cole.
After lunch we went and watched the parade for a little while. All the floats were amazing, even the King and Queen had one, and rode ahead of everyone else.
“We’ll get to design our own float once we’re on the throne” Jax told me, but Koda snorted.
“We?” He questioned “I’ll be designing thank’s very much, you can paint it”
“What about me?” I asked “What can I do?”
“You can be decoration” Jax smirked, but I rolled my eyes and shoved them both.
After going to the temple to toast the Goddess and give our offering, we made our way back towards the arena where an amazing performance was taking place.
“Today has been so great” I gushed as we watched the children running through one of the parks with kites “I can’t wait for the fireworks, the city’s going to look so amazing with the lights from all the lanterns.
The twins looked at each other, before Jax turned to me “Sweetheart, nothing changed, the plans still in place”
“You have to go into hiding during the fireworks” Koda whispered.
“What?!” I complained “But Alpha Troy’s locked up”
“We can’t risk it” Jax told me, as he took my hand and kissed it “If your vision comes true, we have to make sure you’re hidden”
“Please don’t argue” Koda added, when I opened my mouth “There’s no point, it’s decided”
I exhaled “Fine” I tried not to be a sook “I’ll go”
“Good” Koda kissed my cheek “Let’s go watch the glassblowers, it’s really amazing watching them”
Hours later, I was over walking around, I used to love how big the city was, but now, I wished I was back in my small old town, as my feet were killing me.
