“No” Jax kissed my nose.
“Luna?” The nurse said gently “I need to check your blood pressure”
“No, go away” I argued, I just wanted to be with my mates “I want to be alone with Jax and Cody!”
“Alpha?” He looked at Koda “Her heart’s to strained, she needs to sleep”
“Leave” Jaxson ordered, as I clung to his arms.
“Alpha, please” The nurse pleaded “She has a lot of injuries, she needs to”
“We know what she needs” Koda told her firmly “Go”
The nurse looked troubled, but I didn’t care, I just wanted to be with my twins. Finally, she bowed and left the room, but I noticed the concerned glint in her eyes, as she looked at the monitors.
“There” Jax said softly “We’re alone, now please try to calm yourself, or we’ll get the nurse to sedate you, you’re still healing”
“Are you truly okay?” I asked, my hand shaking as I reached to touch his face.
“I’m perfectly fine” He took my hand and kissed it “Cody, grab that other blanket, she’s freezing”
Koda nodded, and put the blanket over me, but didn’t get back into bed “Cody come here, please”
He seemed a little unsure, but climbed in beside me again and gently put his arms around me while Jax laid on his side, and also put his arms over my body.
“I knew you’d come for me” I told them once more “I knew, I just had to hold on”
“We’ll always come for you” Jax told me “We would never have given up”
I felt myself calming down “I can’t believe that dream was real”
“What dream?” Koda asked.
I reached over and touched their temples but they both frowned “Nothing happened” Jax told me, so I tried again, but once more the memory wouldn’t transfer.
“Something’s wrong with my powers” I said in confusion.
“Try another memory” Koda suggested “Will you show us everything Troy and Fenrir did to you?”
I was really unsure, and turned slowly in his arms to look into his eyes, but I cringed in pain at the movement.
“Don’t turn like that” He ordered “Just stay still, please, you’ll open the wounds on your back”
I nodded, and pressed my face into Jaxson’s chest, as I took deep breaths through the pain, but once it reduced, I slowly moved back, and touched their temples again, and this time, the transfer worked.
Koda growled, and climbed off the bed again, his face was twisted in pain and anger.
“Cody?”
“I need a minute” He told me, and he walked into the bathroom.
“Should we check on him?” I asked Jax in concern, only to see pain in his features too “Are you okay?”
Jax looked at me as if I’d lost my mind, and leaned in to gently hug me “You were tortured, and you’re worrying about myself and Koda?” He commented, his voice thick with pain “Stop worrying about us, you don’t have to be brave for us”
“I’m not being brave” I argued “I just… I don’t know how I feel, I don’t want to think about it”
Jax pulled back, and touched my face, I really loved his touch, the feeling of the bond always took over every other feeling I was experiencing.
“You can’t run from this” He told me “Please sweetheart, let yourself grieve normally for once, if you want to scream, then scream, if you want to hit something, then hit me” He picked up my hands and kissed them “If you want to cry, then cry, but please, don’t push this down”
I shook my head as tears filled my eyes “I don’t want to think about it” I repeated.
“Okay” He said sadly, and kissed my forehead “Take your time, but when it all becomes too much, just know Cody and I are here for you”
I nodded and closed my eyes, but when I did, images of the torture filled my mind again, and I quickly opened my eyes, to see Jax watching me.
“How did you know I was in the woods?” I asked him, to distract myself.
Jax looked away from me, and I frowned at his reaction.
“We had someone use my bracelet to track you with a spell”
“Really?” I said with interest “That’s a cool spell, why can’t we use it to find your uncle?”
“You need an item from the person you’re looking for” He told me “There needs to be some kind of connection”
“Oh, I see” I exhaled, and leaned into his chest. I was feeling exhausted all of a sudden, healing took it out of you.
I heard the bathroom door open and close, and then there was a slight movement on the bed, before I felt Koda’s arms carefully wrap around me again.
“Are you okay?” I asked him.
“Yes” He kissed my hair “What memory were you trying to give us?”
“Oh” I yawned “I had this really crazy dream about our children. I was pregnant with a baby girl, and we had twin boys”
I continued to tell them about the encounter as they remained silent.
“You should have seen the boys” I said sleepily “They were so adorable”
“What were their names?” Jax asked.
“I’m not telling” I answered “If it was real, I’ll be able to know for sure, if we name the boys the same names, and if we choose different name, then I know it was just a weird dream”
“What if you were the one who’d named them?” Koda asked.
“Either way, I need to know for sure, it felt so real” I told them and felt myself drifting off “It’s weird, but I miss them”
“We’ll have our twins soon enough” Jax told me, with an edge of excitement in his tone.
UNKNOWN POV
The pub was dark and cast in the shadows of the Halzirn mountains, in the Fae realm. The pub was known for its shady characters and unlawful dealings. The owner had a “Don’t ask, don’t tell” policy, and held no alliances with any one race.
It was the perfect place to meet with someone to conduct business of an unsavory nature and not be overheard or disturbed.
It was in this pub, that Fenrir sat in the back of the room by a fire and dressed in a black cloak and hood, eating his meal with a second hooded figure, as they waited for Fenri’s guest.
