Chapter 227 – Lycan Prince’s Slave Mate (Madelyn & Jaxson) Novel Free Online by Jess

He shook off his wet cloak, dripping water over the floor and kicking the door closed behind him, to cut off the howl of the storm raging outside.

The hooded figure scanned the room, before walking past the bar, where Zarath, the owner, was wiping out a glass.

“Beer” The newcomer ordered and placed several bronze coins down on the wooden bar counter.

Zarath fetched the beverage, and took the currency, before moving back to his glass, while the hooded man continued towards Fenrir’s table.

“Good to see you again Ezra” Fenrir spoke as he continued to eat his roasted duck, and kicked out the chair for Ezra to take “Sit down, we have a lot to discuss”

JAXSON’S POV

Madelyn finally drifted off, and I looked over her head to Cody “Are you good?” I linked him.

“Are you?” He shot back.

“Touche” I smirked, as I looked down at Madelyn “Do you think that dream was real?”

“I hope so” He smiled and kissed her hair gently “It proves that we deal with Fenrir and get our family”

“She might have been transported into her future self while her future self was in her body”

“But that didn’t happen the night Scott died”

“She may have just forgotten going into the future” I pointed out.

“Maybe. I can’t wait to see her pregnant” Koda smiled “She’ll be so beautiful, do you think she’ll have to lay an egg or something?”

“I don’t think so” I shook my head “She said she was pregnant in that dream’

“She might have to transform into a Phoenix while giving birth”

“We need to speak with dad and grandmother about Phoenix’s” I told him reluctantly “They know more about them, then we do”

“So does Noland” He pointed out “If he really is her Keeper”

“I hate lying to her” I told my brother “What if Noland tells her about the poison, or us suspecting him?”

“We have to talk to him”

“Like he’ll tell us the truth” I complained “You heard him, he has laws, which are just ridiuclous, why does the Keeper have to stay away from her until she molts”

“Also, why was he already breaking the rules anyway” Koda commented “He was sending her letters and inserting himself into her life. He wouldn’t do that if he had laws that prevented him. There’s something off about all of this, maybe he’s not her Keeper, but the Maddie from the future seemed to know him, so I’m just so unsure, I hate not knowing. Why couldn’t she just tell us everything that is going to happen!?”

“Because it might alter the future” I told him, and yawned “I’m tried, let’s talk about this tomorrow”

“I hope Evet brings breakfast in the morning” Koda said dreamily “I’m starving”

I rolled my eyes, my brother really must have gotten the Alpha’s share of the hunger. He’d usually be having dinner by now, but seeing as we were both exhausted, he could use sleep and not food right now.

I moved down the bed slightly, so that my head was close to Madelyn’s, and pulled her hands to my lips, so I could kiss them while I fell to sleep.

Madelyn hadn’t been asleep for long before her nightmare began. Koda and I quickly rushed to wake her up so she would hurt her back, and she burst into tears, the second reality seeped back in.

I wished more than anything, that she wouldn’t suppress her feelings. That was why she had nightmares. She wouldn’t deal with things when she was awake, but she couldn’t block everything while she was dreaming.

We had to call the nurse in to sedate her, and she finally rested.

She woke up on Thursday morning a lot with the alert, and after being checked over by her nurse, who told us her doctor would be in later, Koda insisted that she eat, though we all knew it was him who wanted food.

There was a knock on the door, and one of the guards opened it slightly “Excuse me your majesties” He said, without looking into the room “But the Luna’s cousin is here, he wanted to know if he’s allowed in”

I exhaled in frustration, but looked at Madelyn, who was sitting up eating her breakfast.

“Would you like visitors?”

She seemed unsure, but nodded, and attempted to fix her knotted hair “It’s okay”

“Let him in” I agreed.

Koda placed his laptop onto the desk beside him, and put his foot up on his knee to get comfortable as Tyrone walked in holding flowers. What was with this guy? How many bouquets did he want to give my girl!?

“They’re cousins” Knox reminded me.

“I don’t care” I shot back, stubbornly “No one should get her flowers but me!”

“Alpha’s” He greeted us first, before walking over to Madelyn, and placing the flower by her bed “Hello Luna, it’s wonderful to finally meet you”

“You can call me Madelyn, or Maddie” She told him.

“No he can’t” Koda commented, but Madelyn glared at him.

“Yes, he can, stop it” She said firmly.

“Only in private though” I added, but she glared at me now, so I just winked.

“Anyway” Madelyn rolled her eyes at us, and I smiled “Thank you for the flowers, the other ones too”

“Did you get them from the hospital gift shop?” I asked snidely “They’ve never really had the best selection”

“Jaxson!” Madelyn scolded me, before turning to her cousin “Sorry, he has a thing about flowers”

“It’s alright” Tyrone smiled, and sat down “How are you?”

“I’m fine, just waiting to heal so I can go home”

I noticed Koda frown, but didn’t comment at her nonchalant attitude about her situation, but I also let it go. Her cousin was a stranger, of course she wouldn’t open up to him, she barely opened up to us and we were her mates.

“Why should she open up to mates who lie to her” Knox said harshly.

“Scr*w you” I shot back “We’re just trying to keep her safe, and don’t want to upset her”

“You keep telling yourself that” He commented, and shut me off, before I could respond, but now I was filled with even more guilt than before. Knox and I were rarely on opposite sides of a situation.

“I’m sorry, I didn’t reach out earlier” Madelyn was telling her cousin “Things have been a little crazy since I met the twins, and we’ve been dealing with a lot”

‘I understand” Tyrone shrugged “I’m just glad I got to see you before I head back to Eton. My Beta is begging me to come home, his mate is due for her heat”

“Do you think it’s really appropriate to tell complete strangers about a woman’s heat?” Koda asked.
