It was forbidden to kill an Alpha unless in self-defense. That law was established by the King after the end of the war but Alpha Troy didn’t let that stop him, he wanted power.
‘I don’t want to’ I cried ‘I don’t want to hurt anyone’
‘Dont be such a stupid baby!’ Scott sneared and shoved me in the back, causing me to fall onto my knees and cutting them in the process.
I winced in pain but knew better then to cry in front of him. He liked that.
‘GET UP AND DO AS I ORDERED!’ Alpha Troy shouted angrily as he struggled with Alpha Christian.
‘No!’ I shook my head, his alpha tone never seemed to work on me, but I didn’t know why, instead he had to use intimidation and pain to get me to do as he wanted.
‘You stupid little b*tch!’ Alpha Troy shouted as he placed his hand on Alpha Christians chest.
His hand began to glow and Alpha Christian started screaming in pain. The only upside was seeing that this was hurting Alpha Troy as well.
It didn’t hurt me when I pulled people’s powers out, it was as easy as breathing for me and I could transfer the powers to someone else, which is why Alpha Troy wanted me to take Alpha Christians powers. He got what he wanted without the pain
We’d discovered I could do that by accident two years before when Scott had jumped on me and tried to punch me.
I’d shoved my hands against his chest and somehow pulled all his strength into myself, Scott fell into a coma for 3 weeks and Alpha Troy had beaten me until I was practically dead. Even Luna Morgan didn’t care that he’d hurt me, she blamed me for her son’s condition.
It wasn’t until weeks later that Alpha Troy had told me what I’d done. He seemed extremely angry that I had this ability but he never mentioned why.
Finally, Alpha Christian stopped screaming and Alpha Troy cut his throat with his claws before looking over at his Beta.
‘Liam!’ He called out to a large bald man with a long scar down his face “Clean this sh*t up and take Scott home, you come with me you f*cking b*tch”
Alpha Troy grabbed me by my hair and began dragging me away into the woods and down a long path to the shed.
I begging Alpha Troy for mercy as he dragged me kicking and screaming into the shed and threw me onto the ground.
“Im sorry” I cried and curled up in a protective ball, not that it helped, nothing helped “I will take the powers next time, I swear, I’m sorry?”
Alpha Troy ignored my pleas and grabbed one of his whips from the wall before returning to me.
He didn’t say anything as he raised the whip and brought it crashing down on me again and again.
END OF DREAM
I sat up screaming, and I felt movement on either side of me, causing me to panic, and I quickly flew off the bed, but I tripped over the blanket and fell on the ground, hitting my elbow hard.
“Maddie!”
“Madelyn!”
Lights came on all around me and I closed my eyes to the sudden light.
Id forgotten for a moment that I had found my mates, who rushed over to me in concern.
“Its alright” Koda said as his arms wrapped around me
“Dont be afraid” I heard Jaxson as a second set of arms held me tightly while I cried.
“Im sorry” I whispered through the pain “I forgot where I was for a moment, I didn’t mean to worry you”
“Shh” Jax’s hushed me “Its alright, let me see your elbow”
They both released me and I cringed a little as Jax’s bent my arm to examine me.
“Its a little red but it should be okay soon” He announced in relief.
“Good” Koda exhaled and took my face in his hands “What happened, did you have a nightmare?”
My heart was still racing, and I felt a light layer of sweat over my skin as the memories faded.
I nodded sadly “Yes, but I’m ok” I lied “Im sorry I woke you up”
“Dont be ridiculous” Jaxson lent down and kissed my elbow “Do you want to talk about your dream?”
“It was nothing” I lied and shook my head
I couldn’t tell them about it could I? Would they judge me, would they hate me?
“You were so afraid you started screaming, and you expect us to believe it’s nothing’ Koda said forcefully ‘That’s bullsh*t, what was the dream about?”
“I said it was nothing!” I shocked myself by shouting at him and standing up.
Koda quickly stood up and stared at me in shock, I braced myself for him to slap me but he simply stepped back
“Okay” He said softly, and looked at Jax
What was happening? Wasn’t he going to yell at me for not answering his question, wasn’t he going to punish me for yelling at him?
“Sweetheart” Jaxson pulled my attention back to him as he gently grabbed my shoulders and turned me to face him “Why don’t you go wash your face and then come back to bed”
I nodded and walked away from them and into the bathroom. My heart was racing from the dream.
I walked over to my sink and splashed some water on my face and looked at my reflection in the mirror
My mates were so strong and powerful. How was I mated to them? It didn’t make sense.
Would they think I was weak if I told them all the times Alpha Troy hurt me?
Would they finally reject me?
JAXSON’S POV
I smiled and kissed her forehead ‘We’ll talk more in the morning, beautiful, get some sleep?”
I frowned at my words, she was beautiful, but I didn’t like that nickname either.
‘Ok’ She responded and fell silent.
‘Sleep well baby’ Koda whispered and kissed Madelyn’s head.
I shifted a little, so I could watch her sleeping face, I couldn’t believe how lucky I was. She was finally here, my mate had finally arrived, and I was never going to let her go.
I watched her for a solid ten minutes before my brother broke my focus. He was usually out like a light when he went to bed, but I guess he, like myself, didn’t want to go to sleep yet.
