“Baby, please say something” Koda pleaded, and touched my arm, but I pulled away again.
I hadn’t spoken since they stopped talking, I just needed to take it all in.
“Sweetheart?”
“Does this mean I’m going to die?” I asked. My voice was low and pained.
The twins looked troubled.
“Of course not” Koda said quickly “Why would you think that?”
“The women from the future said she wasn’t me” I explained “Does that mean I die, and she’s reborn?”
“No, I’m sure she just meant that she wasn’t the you from now, and that she’s you from the future” Jaxson rushed on, his face panicked.
I stood up and started pacing, I needed to move, I needed to do something “But..” I turned to my mates “I have a horrible feeling, it keeps growing, every day, it just keeps getting stronger”
“Maddie, it has to do with Troy, you’re not going to die”
“What did she mean when she apologized for everything I was going to do?” I questioned “What am I going to do? Am I going hurt someone? Am I going to hurt the two of you?”
“We don’t know” Jax answered “But we know, that if you do something to hurt someone, it’s an accident”
“What if I molt and kill someone?” I asked “What if I join Fenrir? What”
“Hey, Maddie stop” Koda jumped up and came over to me “Please calm down, we will figure all of this out together”
“Together?” I snapped “How can we do anything together if you two keep things like this from me”
“We were always going to tell you” Jaxson got up too, and came over to me “Sweetheart, come sit down, and we’ll talk this through.
“NO!” I placed my hand on Jaxson’s chest “I.. I want some time alone to deal with everything. I understand keeping things from me for a while because you wanted to protect me, but you actually lied to me about my future self killing Troy, I need time”
“We’re really sorry, Maddie” Koda looked at me with a sad expression, but I turned away “We were going to tell you”
“I believe you, just leave me alone”
MADELYN’S POV
I was so angry, as I marched out of the house towards the car. How could they not tell me all of this straight away?
Rick, our driver was standing by the trunk of the car talking to one of the guards, Monique, who, upon seeing me, bowed and quickly returned to her post.
“Good morning, Luna” Rick smiled and quickly opened the back door of the car “You look lovely this morning”
“We’re going to the pack house”
Rick looked from me to the manor in confusion “Are we waiting for the Alphas?”
“No” I snapped, knowing they could hear me “Those jerks can walk, let’s go”
I sat down and crossed my arms, as Rick closed the door, as he drove out of the driveway, I started going over everything the twins had told me.
“Mate?” Flynn and Knox linked me.
“What?!”
“Don’t speak to us like that, Madelyn” Knox warned “We may be your mates, but we’re also your Alpha’s. Don’t be rude to us”
“Shut up, Knox!” Ava shouted, having my back “We’ll talk to you however we want, and you both deserve it, you lied to us!”
“We’re sorry” Flynn said pleadingly “The twins were just worried about you”
“I don’t care” I snapped.
“Please come home and talk to us” Knox tried a gentler approach now.
“NO! Leave me alone!” I cut the link and returned to my thoughts.
When I felt the car slow down for a light, I couldn’t help but think about the Queen mother. Did she really see my mother while she was pregnant, and if she had, did she kill her, or was it rogues like Troy had told me? I had to know the truth. I pressed the button for the divider and leaned forward.
“Do you know where the Queen mother lives?”
“Yes, Luna”
“Take me there, please”
“The Queen mother doesn’t allow visitors without an invitation or notice” He warned me “She may turn you away”
“I don’t care, take the there”
“Yes, Luna”
I pressed the button again and the divider rose again.
“What are you going to ask her?” Ava asked me.
“I don’t know” I shook my head “I just want the truth, if she was our mother before I was born, and lied, then how do we know she didn’t kill her”
I looked out the window pouting, and getting angrier, we traveled to the outskirts of the city where there wasn’t a lot of houses, and more and more trees, and then finally we stopped at a massive stone wall covered in beautiful vines and yellow flower.
Rick pulled up to a wooden double door gate with stunning carvings of wolves where two guards were waiting in black suites. After a few minutes, Rick slightly lowered the divider.
“I’m sorry, Luna, but the Queen mother is refusing to see you” He told me, which only added to my anger “She asked you to come back after you’ve received an invitation”
“Scr*w this” I shouted, and climbed out of the car.
I marched over to the guards at the gate “Open the gate!”
“I’m sorry, Luna, but the Queen mother isn’t taking visitors this morning. Please leave”
“NO!” I shouted.
I threw up my hands and the two guards went flying backwards. I then raised my hands to the gate, and it too flew open, breaking the lock in the process, but I didn’t care, and just marched onto the property.
I continued to walk angrily up the stone driveway while the guards rushed over to me, making sure to keep their distance though, a good thing too, because I was angry enough to hurt them all.
The Queens gardens were stunning, but I ignored them and kept making my way to the large mansion, a dark gray home with a wooden roof that matched the gate I’d just broken.
