Chapter 237 – Mated To My Obsessive Stepbrother (Kester & Kasmine) Novel Free Online by Velvet Desires

His blood-red eyes hadn’t left me once since he walked in. I could barely breathe under that gaze. He didn’t need chains to keep me still. His presence alone. felt like iron shackles.

“Answer me!” I screamed, slamming my palm against the floor. “What the fuck do you want?!”

For a heartbeat, I saw a look in his eyes that suggested he didn’t like it when people raised their voices at him.

But the look disappeared instantly, replaced by his usual cold demeanor.

He leaned back slowly and took a slow breath before finally, in that haunting, gravel-laced voice that seemed to scrape even the very air I breathe, he said. “Are you always this curious, Kasmine?”

KESTER.

“Fuck… Fuck, man, I don’t know…I’m… Oh, God, My voice cracked mid-sentence as I shoved trembling fingers through my hair, again and again, dragging at the roots like I could rip the confusion out of my skull.

I was pacing like a madman across the gravel of the empty road, confused and totally disheveled.

I didn’t know for how long I’d been out, but she was gone. Kasmine was nowhere to be found.

I held her necklace in my hand like I could somehow conjure her out of it or something.

Why? Why did it have to be now? Just the moment she took off the only means I had to find her.

“Kester, Norlan called through the phone in my other hand, ‘You need to breathe. Come back. We’ll figure something out, I swear it. he said, trying to be the voice of reason. And as much as that was the logical thing to do, but fuck logic. It didn’t sound right to me.

“No,” I suddenly said, ‘No. You don’t get it. If I leave now and she comes back… what if I miss her by seconds? What if… what if she’s scared, alone, bleeding somewhere, and I just fucking walk away?”

I looked around again like an idiot like she might appear from the trees. But all I boy was wind and emptiness.

I felt as though standing here a bit longer would change things… Maybe if I stayed here just a little longer, she might reappear, just the way she d disappeared.

‘I swear to fuck, Norlan, I’ll kill every fucking person involved in this,” I breathed as I began to walk away from the scene. I had parked my car in a distance so I could catch Jake red-handed without giving him the opportunity to surprise me with an attack I wasn’t prepared for. And that went well because his dead ass body was still lying cold on the floor, and I didn’t give a fuck about it.

If I had it my way, I’d bring that piece of shit back from the dead just so I could kill him again.

And again.

And again. Until his soul screamed for mercy from hell itself, and until even the Devil turned away and said, “That’s enough.”

‘More,” I ordered coldly, standing with my hands placed across my chest as I watched my female warriors do what they were best at.

I stood still, arms folded across my chest, but every muscle in my body was coiled tight like a predator on the brink of losing all control.

I was fucking imploding.

But rage like mine couldn’t be let loose carelessly. So I watched, even though every second spent here was carving another crack into what little was left of my restraint, as this bitch choked on blood and water and her own miserable choices.

Norlan’s name kept flashing on my phone continuously, but I didn’t pick up. I knew what he wanted – mercy. He was calling to beg for her.

But I didn’t give a shit.

If this would ruin our friendship, then so be it.

I hadn’t slept a wink all night. I came here straight from the site of the attack. I knew she was the one person who might know about Kasmine 3 abduction,

“No! No, please!” The broken sound of June’s voice filled the empty space as Viola, my chief female interrogator, landed another punch to her stomach – Her body jolted forward, bound arms twitching in pain, bile trailing the corner of her lips.

Two of my most seasoned female warriors held her up by her arms. She sagged between them like a broken puppet, her blood-slicked hair clinging to be face, her dress soaked and clinging to her trembling body.

I enjoyed the view. She was a mess. But, it was a shame I could never lay my hands on her in the name of interrogation… I never laid hands on a woman. Not because I was kind but because I didn’t know how to stop once I started. Shed die within the first day serande.

So, I made it one of my principles.

But I wanted her to suffet.

Kasmine was gone. And this bitch knew something.

“You ready to speak yet? Viola growled, grabbing her chin and forcing her to look up as she ordered for another bucket of water to be doused on tune “Where is the Luna? Where was she taken to?

June gasped when the water drenched her, struggling to breathe, her body convulsing from the cold.

June whimpered, her head swaying as if she might black out. “I… I don’t know…”

“Viola,” I finally called, “Move to the next phase.”

Viola didn’t hesitate one bit. She wiped the blood from her gloves, turned to the small metal table behind her, and picked up a syringe its clear barret shimmered faintly under the interrogation lights, and even from where I stood, I could smell the bitterness of its content.

Wolfsbane.

The second June saw it, she started to shake.

“No… No, please…” her voice cracked, high-pitched, almost childlike with fear. Her eyes darted wildly from the needle to me. “Kester… please… don t do this. Please. I’m sorry! I was wrong! I… I hired that man, yes, but I had nothing to do with Kasmine’s abduction. I swear on the Goddess, I swear, please…!

Her tears poured, mixing with blood and spit. She looked pathetic, broken, and desperate.

But I didn’t even blink. I just stared at her like she was already dead.

“You’ll get a dose,” I said in a voice so flat that I also felt the chill it carried, “every hour.”

June froze.

“One by one, they’ll eat through your nervous system. The fifth one will stop your heart.”

She sobbed hard.

“And I’ll be right here,” I continued, stepping closer now, letting her see just how far past mercy I was. “Watching you die slowly by my feet.”

Viola drove the needle into June’s arm, and she screamed.

Her entire body jerked, convulsing in fear.

“Don’t do this!” she wailed. “Please! I’m sorry. I’m sorry!”

Viola’s thumb moved slowly toward the plunger.”

The clear liquid trembled at the tip.

Just as Viola began to push down, June screamed.

“WAIT!” she shrieked, “STOP! STOP… I’LL TALK!”

Viola froze.

“I’ll confess,” She panted, her eyes bulging in terror. “I’ll tell you everything – everything I know. Just please please don’t kill me.-

Good. We were getting somewhere.

KESTER.

“What?” I hissed into the phone when I finally answered Mum’s call. She and Dad had been calling throughout last night.
