‘Its strange isn’t it’ Koda linked me so he wouldn’t wake Madelyn ‘I always thought everyone was exaggerating when they spoke about their affection for their mate’s, but I think I’m in love with her already’
‘I know what you mean’ I replied and gently ran my fingers through her hair ‘We can’t let that half-breed f*ck take her from us, we need to deal with him’
‘We’ll have to kill him’ Koda sounded firm on this ‘I have a feeling he won’t give up, him or his pathetic father’
‘I wonder why he wants Madelyn mated to his son so badly’ I said thoughtfully as I back tracked the conversations we had after meeting our mate ‘It can’t just be because they respect the goddess, there has to be a reason we’re not aware of’
‘Maddie might know’ Koda suggested ‘We’ll ask her once she’s settled in more and trusts us a little better’
‘She seems terrified of him’
‘I picked up on that too, it wasn’t just a normal hatred from a lower class pack member against her Alpha’ Koda went on ‘He must have hurt her more then anyone knows’
‘I wonder if she’d tell us if we asked for exact details. She seemed really nervous when we spoke about her telling us what he’d done to to her’

‘I hope so’ He murmured ‘I don’t want to lose her. When she went to reject me, I literally felt like my whole body was on fire’
‘I know’ I told him ‘I felt it’
Koda and I could always feel the others pain, not as intense, but we still hurt. It came in handy in a fight when we needed to know if the other person was safe or not.
Madelyn moaned softly in her sleep and I tensed at the sound. It did things to my body that I’d never experienced before.
‘F*ck’ Koda complained, and I felt him move a little
‘What?’ I looked over at him.
‘Maddie just pressed up against my c*ck’
‘Just ignore it’ I rolled my eyes.
‘Easy for you to say’ Koda complained with a groan ‘She’s not pushing her ass onto your d*ck’
‘Serves you right’ I countered in annoyance ‘You were the one who agreed with her no s*x bullsh*t, this is your punishment’
‘I had to agree you id*ot’ He snapped back ‘She wasn’t ready. What would you have done, force her?!’
‘Of course not’ I growled at his accusation ‘But we’re alphas and there’s two of us, between the both of us, we should have been able to seduce our own mate’
‘We’ll sleep with her soon, stop being a sook’ He told me but then Madelyn shifted once more and he groaned again
‘Who’s the sook now?’
‘F*ck, I can’t do this, I need another shower’
I laughed as my brother slipped out of bed.
‘So weak’ I joked ‘You have no discipline at all’
‘Shove off’
I rolled my eyes and snuggled up to my girl before allowing sleep to take me.
I was having an amazing dream when I felt something grip my arm hard and I startled awake, looking around for a threat, only to find Madelyn tossing in her sleep.
‘Ssh, Maddie, it’s ok’ I heard my brother. She had obviously woken him too
I rose my hand to comfort her when she started screaming. I’d never heard a women scream like that, she was in agony and I felt a cold rush flow down my spine.
I turned and gently grabbed her shoulders.
‘Sweetheart wake up!’ I shook her, but then she screamed again as her eyes shot open.
Madelyn looked around frantically and flew off the bed, but she must have gotten tangled in the covers because she fell down hard onto the ground.
Maddie!’
‘Madelyn!’ I shouted in fear as my heart raced.
I jumped off the bed and hit the light switch on the wall.
The room lit up in seconds and I saw Madelyn crumbled on the ground with her eyes closed and holding her elbow in her hand
‘Its alright’ Koda wound his arms around her and pressed his face into her hair.
She was shaking like crazy, and it actually caused me great pain to see her like that.
‘Don’t be afraid’ I pleaded and lent down beside them.
I wrapped my arms around both of them and pressed my own face into the other side of her hair.
‘Im sorry’ She whispered, as the shaking slowed down ‘I forgot where I was for a moment, I didn’t mean to worry you’
‘Shh’ I said ‘Its alright, let me see your elbow’
Koda and I pulled back, and I took her elbow, but she cringed in pain and I froze momentarily. Her elbow was red but she shouldn’t bruise.
‘It’s a little red but it should be ok soon’
‘Good’ Koda released a breath of air and took Madelyn’s face in his hands ‘What happened, did you have a nightmare?
‘Yes, but I’m ok’ She said softly and looked down ‘. I’m sorry I woke you up’
‘Don’t be ridiculous’ I exhaled in frustration as I kissed her sore elbow ‘Do you want to talk about your dream?’
‘It was nothing’ She shook my head, but I didn’t believe her, the way she’d screamed was still ringing in my mind
‘You were so afraid you started screaming, and you expect us to believe it’s nothing’ Koda pointed out ‘That’s bullsh*t, what was the dream about?’
‘I said it was nothing!’ Madelyn shouted and stood up, sending a wave of her scent into the air, this time it was mixed with the scent of perspiration. She was sweating from her nightmare.
Koda and I rose to our feet as well. I wasn’t expecting her to yell at us. This was interesting, did that mean she was finally settling in or was it just a coincidence because of her nightmare.
Koda stepped back looking worried ‘Okay’
Koda looked at me for assistance, and Maddie looked frightened again. She must have shocked herself by yelling at us
