Chapter 240 – Mated To My Obsessive Stepbrother (Kester & Kasmine) Novel Free Online by Velvet Desires

“And since your mouth is too empty for food… but busy enough to bark threats,” he murmured, now standing inches away, “maybe it’s time it was used for something more useful.”

I felt his fingers graze my chin.

I froze. Everything inside me locked up.

He tilted my face up to his, peering deep into my soul with those dead eyes of his.

My knees were shaking. I hated that I was trembling.

I could barely whisper, “Don’t touch me.”

He let out a smile, and for the first time, it looked like a real smile, but I wasn’t fooled.

“Of course, I’ll touch you, baby. I certainly will.” He said. Then, without taking his eyes off me, he snapped his fingers.

I barely had time to process it before the door creaked behind him. Heavy boots scraped against the floor as two hefty men entered.

“Make her kneel,” he said, still holding my gaze intently. “It’s time I showed Kester how well his little mate worships my cock while he’s away.”

KESTER.

The room was dim and too damn quiet for how loud everything inside me was screaming.

I sat slouched on the edge of the couch in the center of my pack house, elbows on my knees, head down, a full bottle of whiskey in one hand and my phone in the other. I didn’t even remember what time it was. Morning? Night? I didn’t care.

The carpet under my boots was soaked from earlier when the first bottle slipped out of my hand and shattered.

Norlan was upstairs. The doctor said he needed rest, but I knew he wasn’t sleeping. How could he when I hadn’t closed my eyes in two fucking days?

Norlan had decided to come with me to the pack house. He said I needed to be looked after. As if I was a baby. Or as if he could stop the killing spree that was already taking root in my head.

Why not? When the only person who was my balance, my sanity, and my blood was still nowhere to be found until now? I don’t give a fuck what the world thinks about mates, but that woman – my woman was the only thing keeping me from becoming something the gods couldn’t fix. But now, even the gods won’t be able to fix the damage that was about to befall

Kex, Wes, and Nagel.

I could feel myself unraveling.

My hair was a mess. My shirt was wrinkled and stuck to me with sweat. I hadn’t showered or eaten. I didn’t want to. I couldn’t taste anything but metal and fury. My wolf was pacing inside me like a caged beast, ready to tear out of my skin.

I dialed the number again.

The same number I’d called thirteen times in the last hour.

It rang and rang without a response. But finally, someone deemed it fit to answer.

“Hello?” a clipped voice answered.

I shot up from the couch, the whiskey bottle nearly slipping out of my hand. “What the fuck took you so long to pick up?”

There was silence on the other end for a beat too long.

Then, the voice returned, ‘We’ve assessed the situation, Alpha Kester. Nagel Vale operates under a level of stealth and protection we currently do not have the capacity to…”

Every joint in my body cracked from how fense I was.

“You fucking coward!” I roared, pacing across the room, rage spiking through my blood like fire. “You’re telling me that, your overpaid dicks-with-badges don’t have what it takes to capture one man? One piece of shit who’s out there torturing my Luna as we speak?!”

The idiot tried to backtrack. “Alpha, you have to understand… he’s off-grid, heavily protected, and…”

“You scared of Nagel?” I asked, yoice dropping to something colder. “You should be. But not more than you should be scared of me. Because as soon as this is all over, your agency will go extinct. I promise you that.”

I hung up before 1 ripped the phone in two.

The whiskey bottle slipped from my hand. The amber liquid spilled like blood across the floor, seeping into the broken screen of my phone.

I dropped to my knees in it.

My hands shook as I gripped my hair, tugging hard. My forehead pressed against the floor, and I finally let out a guttural scream that tore straight from my chest.

This was the ninth agency I’ve had to call to look for Kasmine, but they were all weak dicks who were totally scared of the name Nagel. What the fuck?

And me, with all my own resources, I wasn’t doing to Kasmine right now. able to do much. I was going crazy imagining all the things Nagel could be

Fuck.

Norlan, who just got discharged from the hospital last night, couldn’t do much either. Besides, he wasn’t good at “tracking” people. He was a master at digging out the most buried secret of anybody on this planet.

“Kester…” Norlan’s voice drifted faintly from the top of the stairs.

I almost rolled my eyes. I knew why he was here… Again. And like I said before, I’d rather shave my balls with a rusted blade than…

“You need to see this,” Norlan added, Almost as if he was reading my thoughts.

Norlan was halfway down the stairs, and from the way he clutched my laptop like it was a bomb and his eyes, bloodshot, shadowed, and heavy, I knew something was sorely wrong.

I rose slowly to my feet. Although my legs were stiff and my spine felt cracked, I crossed the room.

“What is it?” I rasped.

He didn’t answer. He just handed me the laptop and backed away slightly, like even being close to me right now was dangerous.

I looked down.

It was a video file.

I lifted my gaze to Norlan again. “What the fuck is this?”

His throat bobbed as he swallowed. “Just… play it.” He looked like whatever was in that video was killing him.

I quickly clicked play.

At first, the screen was dark. Just muffled sounds… shuffling… metal… breath. A chair scraped.

Then, a faint light flickered on. The camera was angled low. There was a pair of legs, and they were bare and shaking.

My heart stopped.

No.

My fingers dug into the side of the laptop, and the screen lifted just enough to show her face.

It was Kasmine.

Tears streaked down her face. Her lips were pale and trembling. Her hair clung to her skin like she’d been sweating or crying or maybe both. Her arms were tied behind her, her chest rising too fast, like she’d just finished begging for her life.

My heart pounded so loud in my ears, that I didn’t even hear the next sound until the screen shifted, and someone’s face appeared at a close range on the screen.

Nagel Vale.
