Life’s Spiced Up with Some Werewolf Reads

Chapter 25 – Abandoned Luna Now Untouchable (Cecilia & Sebastian) Novel Free Online by Lila

I had done my homework on the Silver Peak Pack.

They were a classic family enterprise, capital amassed over generations.

They began as money changers, evolved into private banking, expanded into real estate in the 90s, and later branched out into new energy, entertainment, and internet ventures.

They had six publicly listed companies alone.

The Singapore branch specialized in new energy but wasn’t their largest or most impressive overseas operation.

I couldn’t understand why Sebastian chose it as the first stop.

Beta Sawyer hesitated. “Uh, nothing special. It’s… closer?”

I gave him a look that clearly said, “Really?”

A man with a Gulfstream G650 could fly anywhere, except maybe the moon.

Distance was hardly a concern.

As Beta Sawyer explained our division of duties for the next few days, he confided, “When we were at the American branch, I managed things alone. But at headquarters? I’m so swamped I wish I could clone myself.”

“The Alpha is quite particular,” he added. “Poor Lian ended up acting as both butler and secretary. Now that you’re here, maybe both of us can breathe a little easier.”

A small smile tugged at the corner of my mouth, a dimple appearing.

“Sawyer, go ask Mia for some popcorn,” Sebastian’s voice came suddenly from behind us-calm, unhurried, neither warm nor cold.

He stood with one arm crossed, the other holding a folder, his expression unreadable behind his glasses.

Sawyer looked puzzled. “Popcorn? You want some?”

Sebastian lowered the folder and glanced between us.

“You two seemed so… engaged. I figured snacks might complete the show.”

Sawyer and I exchanged silent looks.

Alpha Sebastian certainly had a subtle way of showing his displeasure.

At two in the afternoon, the plane touched down.

As I stepped off the aircraft, a wave of heat hit me, transporting me from spring’s coolness straight into midsummer’s sweltering embrace.

Then I remembered my suitcase packed full of sweaters and down jackets.

Who could have predicted I’d go from near-Arctic conditions to the equator in one flight?

The cars sent to meet us waited below.

Beta Sawyer took the front passenger seat while I remained in the back with Sebastian.

We arrived at the Raffles Hotel and checked in.

Beta Sawyer and I accompanied Sebastian to his suite first.

“Any plans for tonight?” Sebastian asked, settling onto the sofa, his gaze briefly flickering to me.

I answered with practiced efficiency: “Only one engagement tonight, Alpha. Keith from Silvercrest Holdings has arranged a yacht reception-a goodwill gesture to welcome your arrival.”

Sebastian nodded once.

“I’ll sleep for a while,” he said. “Wake me at five.”

“Of course.”

Beta Sawyer and I left his suite and returned to our own rooms.

We also had suites, though smaller.

I barely unpacked before rushing out to catch a taxi to the nearest shopping mall.

I needed clothes-professional wear, casual outfits, formal attire-to fit the variety of occasions ahead.

Around 4:30, I returned to the hotel, quickly showered, and changed into professional attire.

At 4:50, I quietly slipped into Sebastian’s suite.

I hung up the suits from his suitcase and selected an outfit for tonight, smoothing out wrinkles with careful hands.

Exactly at 5:00, my phone alarm vibrated.

Time to wake the Alpha.

I walked into the bedroom with composed, deliberate steps.

The moment my eyes landed on the bed, I nearly twisted my ankle on my high heels.

There, sprawled across the large bed, lay my boss, draped in a silver silk robe that had slipped partly open, revealing his collarbone and chest muscles.

His long, perfectly toned legs stretched out like a sculpture brought to life.

The whole scene was breathtaking-vivid and almost impossible to look away from.

I knew I shouldn’t stare, but my eyes lingered for a good five or six seconds.

The longer I looked, the more alarmed I became.

When Beta Sawyer had assigned “personal care” duties to me, was this really appropriate?

This was… unsettling.

I felt a growing unease, but calling Beta Sawyer now wasn’t an option.

I glanced at the clock: 5:05 already!

I took a deep breath and reminded myself: don’t think of him as a man. Think of him as… your boss. Just your boss.

“Alpha, it’s time to wake up.”

I approached the bedside with a professional smile, using my warmest, most businesslike tone.

Sebastian’s brows furrowed.

Then they relaxed, and he slipped back into peaceful sleep.

I cleared my throat and tried again.

“Alpha Sebastian, it’s five o’clock. You need to wake up now.”

He stirred, irritation flickering across his face.

He raised an arm to shield his eyes.

After a moment, he was still again.

I couldn’t believe it-my career might end because I couldn’t wake my boss!

It was already 5:12.

Steeling myself, I leaned down closer and nearly shouted right into his ear:

“WAKE UP!”

Celina

The bed beneath me shifted abruptly, jolting me out of my thoughts with a sudden, sharp movement.

Before I could even gather my senses, a large hand found the back of my head, pulling me forward with an unexpected force.

My lips met skin-warm, smooth, and firm.

Not his shoulder.

Not his neck.

My eyes flew open in shock.

The initial surprise hit me hard, but then everything else flooded in-the faint warmth of his skin against mine, the crisp, intoxicating scent of his cologne, and the unmistakable masculine heat radiating from him as if it were a living, breathing presence.

It was overwhelming. Too vivid. Too real.

Sebastian remained frozen beneath me.
