When Jax came back, he was holding a jacket from my old walk-in, in their old suite, and put it on me.
“Thank you” I smiled, and kissed him “You’re so sweet and thoughtful”
A few of the men laughed and awed.
“Are you a big softy, Alpha”
“So cute” Another man teased him.
“Shut up, all of you, or you’ll be on double patrol’s for the next month.
Everyone started laughing again, but Jax ignored them and placed his arm over my shoulders, while we drank and laughed with his friends.
I listened to Jax have a good time, I loved seeing him so at ease, especially after a day like today. However, when Noland joined the group we were sitting in, Jax tensed and pulled me closer, but I didn’t mind, he was nice and warm.
I looked up at Noland who was holding a tray of shots, and I noticed he was no longer wearing his disgusting trophy, good, I’d guilted him into getting rid of it.
“Luna!” Noland smiled, and passed me a shot, but Jaxson grabbed it and smelt it.
“Are you still doing this?” I linked him.
“Yep” He passed me the shot, before glaring at Noland “Worry about your own drinks, if my mate wants one, I’ll get it”
“Yes, Alpha” Noland said with an annoyed expression.
“Jax” I said patiently “If Noland and I are going to be apart of each other’s lives, you and Koda will need to accept it”
“Yeah, well, I don’t need to accept it tonight” He commented with a wink, and took a shot for himself “To our lost comrades”
Everyone took a shot and held it up, before drinking them, I gasped and scr*wed up my face in disgust, and a few of the others laughed.
“We’ll turn you into a drinker, yet” Evet laughed, but I shook my head.
“Not, likely” I told her and giggled, although I was already feeling tipsy, and I’d only have three drinks and a shot.
“Sh*t!” I heard one of the men gasp from behind us, and we all turned to see he’d accidentally started a small fire outside the massive bomb fire, when he dropped a log wrong and embers escaped onto the grass and ignited it.
He was trying to put it out with his foot, but I held up my hand, and pulled the fire to me. Everyone looked on in awe and some in panic as I held the flame. It felt so warm, and I enjoyed the way it danced in the wind.
Jax cleared his throat, and I looked up to see everyone watching me, so I quickly extinguished the flame. I hadn’t realized I was staring at the flame for a long time.
My eyes caught Noland’s, before he looked down, and seemed to be deep in thought. Jax started the conversation again, and the chatter picked up once more.
An hour later, I was talking to one of the women, but when I yawned, Jax came over to me.
“Come on, mate” Jaxson took my hand and twirled me on the spot, causing me to giggle “Let’s get home to the invalid before he wakes up alone”
“Okay, bye!” I waved to the others and let Jax pull me towards the car where our driver was waiting.
“Can we shift, and run home?”
“No” Jax laughed “Sweetheart, if you’re drunk, then so is Ava, she’ll end up running into traffic or something, and Knox is tired, we’ll drive”
“I’m not drunk” I defended myself, but even though I’d only had a few, I did feel dizzy.
“Just get that gorgeous ass in the car”
“Okay” I pouted and climbed into the backseat.
“Did you have a good time?” Jax asked.
“It was okay” I hugged his arm “I liked seeing you so happy”
“I’m always happy around you”
“Pfft” I laughed, and climbed onto his lap again “You’re so cheesy”
Jax laughed and weaved his fingers into my hair and pulled me closer “Sweetheart, what was that thing with the flame earlier?”
I shrugged and looked up at him for a moment, before climbing onto his lap again, I really loved sitting on his lap “I don’t know” I answered “Its just… I don’t know, it called to me. Do you think people noticed something strange?”
“No” He shook his head “Most of them just thought it was a power you have, no one would suspect you’re half Phoenix”
“Should we tell the pack one day?”
“No, it’s not safe”
“I don’t like lying”
“Well, get used to it’ He winked “You’re a ruler, we have to lie sometimes”
“Would you lie to me?”
“Maybe” He smirked, and started laughing.
“You’re not funny” I snapped, and began tickling him.
He laughed harder and wriggled away from my touch, until he finally got a good grip on my wrists and pulled my arms behind my back.
“How about this” He said and kissed his mark as he let my hands free “I’ll never lie about something serious”
“Good enough”
I leaned in and kissed him for the rest of the drive home, but I was extremely turned on by the time the car pulled up at the manor.
Jax ran his hand up my back, as I looked into his eyes “Tell the driver to shift and run home, I want to make make love in the car again”
Jax smiled, and looked towards the front of the car, I then felt movement, as if someone was climbing out.
“Done” Jax told me, and I ran my hands down his chest.
“Are you to injured for sex?”
“For the rest of our lives together” He gripped my chin and pulled me up so we were looking into each other’s eyes again “The answer to that question is no, I will never be too injured to f*ck you”
I smiled and bit my bottom lip.
“But maybe we should do this tomorrow” He added “What if Koda wakes up and needs help with something?”
