I walked back into the bedroom and smiled when I saw that Maddie had pulled both of our pillows close and was snuggled up to them, she must have been missing our scents or our warmth, I’d noticed that she was alot colder than any Lycan female I’d ever been with, perhaps to compensate for having two mates, Alphas ran a little hotter than most.
I sat down beside her and gently ran my fingers through her hair that had gotten a little knotted throughout the night.
‘Maddie’ I lent in and kissed her head ‘Baby’
She moaned softly, and her eyes began to open, but when she saw me, she jumped a little.
‘Sorry’ I panicked ‘I didn’t mean to frighten you, I was just trying to wake you up for breakfast, it’s nearly ready’
‘Im sorry, I keep forgetting that I’m here’ She yawned and slowly sat up.
I grabbed her waist and helped pull her into a sitting position, and she blushed, making me smile.
‘Should I be offended that you keep forgetting about us’
Maddie smirked and shook her head ‘It’s more like I keep getting scared. I’ll wake up and have it all be just some wonderful dream’
‘Oh’ I smiled and pulled her face in ‘You’ve always been my dream’
I kissed her gently and wished I could just rip her clothes from her body and climb back into bed.
‘I have?’ She asked
‘Ever since I found out what mates were when I was younger’ I admitted to her ‘I have been dreaming of you and wishing you’d arrive and now here you are and all my dreams are finally coming true’
Maddie smiled shyly and looked down, I’d never spoken like this before and I felt like an id*ot admitting all of this but she seemed to like my confession.
‘But, I am also mad at you’ I added, and she looked up in confusion ‘What the hell took you so long?’
Maddie giggled and shoved me ‘Its not my fault I wasn’t born yet’
‘Yes well you still owe me’ I lent back and thought of a suitable compensation ‘Since I had to live without you for 94 years, you owe me at least once kiss for every year I went without’
‘Oh, is that all?’ She asked in amusement.
‘We’ll come up with other ways you can make it up to me once we start having s*x’
‘Koda!’ She gasped and blushed red
‘Anyway’ I said and held up the bag ‘This is for you, Jax got it for you to wear today and he has to go into a meeting soon so can you please go have a shower and get dressed so we can eat together before he leaves, we’ll wait for you in the kitchen’
‘Of course, thank you’ She said and took the bag ‘I should have gotten up earlier and made breakfast for you both, I’m sorry, I just..’
‘Enough’ I cut her off and held up my hand ‘Firstly, you will never be required to make us anything, breakfast or otherwise, if you want to cook then do it but not because you think you have too, Julia is an amazing chef, and she usually cooks for us but Jax wanted to do something nice for you this morning so we prepared breakfast for you, okay’
‘Okay’ She nodded ‘That will take some getting used to, I usually cook for everyone in the mornings. Well, me and one of the other maids, Kia’
‘Well you’re not a maid anymore’ I told her firmly and stood up ‘Now go shower’
She nodded and climbed out of bed while I returned to the kitchen.
‘Did you hear that?’ I asked my brother quietly
He nodded once ‘I knew they’d never made her breakfast’ He said angrily and turned back to the stove where he was cooking the eggs ‘F*cking werewolves, I wish we’d wiped them all out during the war’
‘Me too’ I agreed, and began putting the cutlery on the table.
Ten minutes later everything was ready and I was starving, but Jax’s made me wait for Maddie, who came out a little while later wearing her new blue dress that fell to her mid thinghs, thighs I wish I could have wrapped around my head.
She looked so pretty, I must have been blind to think any of those other women were attractive.
‘Good morning angel’ Jax said, attempting another nickname, but by the frown on his face, he didn’t like that one either ‘You look lovely’
‘Thank you’ She touched the dress awkwardly ‘Ive never worn such an expensive dress, I feel a little stupid’
‘Well you don’t look stupid’ I told her ‘Come and eat, everything’s ready for you’
‘I didn’t know what you liked, so I just made, well.. everything basically’ Jax laughed.
‘No ones ever done anything like this for me’
Maddie looked around the kitchen, taking everything in, there was about twenty dishes of food and several drinks.
‘We figured’ Jax commented angrily ‘Please, come sit down and eat’
Maddie frowned as she looked around the room again, but then tears filled her eyes and she quickly looked down.
‘Madelyn?’ Jaxson walked over and lifted her face ‘What is it, don’t you like it?’
Maddie shook her head and stepped back ‘I just..’ She hesitated for a moment and looked up at us ‘I don’t deserve any of this, you don’t know me, you think that I’m something I’m not, you should pick someone else, I don’t belong here with either of you or in this home, or..’
My heart started racing in fear. Was she going to try and reject us?
‘Maddie stop’ I pleaded as I walked around the island towards her.
‘Do you know that other than the jewelry you gave me, this dress costs more than everything I own put together’ She stepped back from both of us ‘I have nothing to give either of you, and you’re both so sweet and I…’
‘Hey, stop this’ Jaxson grabbed her and pulled her into a tight hug ‘You, my princess, deserve the world, and we’ll give it to you, you don’t have to give us anything in return, just… just let us be with you, that’s all we want, we just want you for the rest of our lives’
‘You’ll change your minds’ She broke my heart, the pain in her voice was torture ‘You won’t want me once you actually know me’
‘Enough’ I told her firmly and pulled her away from Jax’s and into my own arms ‘We will never change our minds, we will always want you’
‘But’
‘Please stop’ Jaxson reached out and pulled her hand to his lips ‘I know you don’t believe it right now but we swear, you’re perfect, you’re everything we’ve ever wanted’
I lent back an wiped the tears from her cheeks.
‘I’m sorry’ She said shyly ‘I don’t mean to keep breaking down, I don’t know what’s gotten into me, I never cry in front of anyone’
Jax laughed softly, and I glared at him, but he rolled his eyes at me.
‘Madelyn, do you remember what I told you last night’ He asked ‘About Ava, her emotions are mixing with yours, so when you’re sad, you feel it from yourself and her, that’s probably why you feel so overwhelmed, it’s not just coming from you, but you will get control of it and don’t ever apologize for crying, we want to know how your feeling, even if it hurts us to see you upset’
‘Ok’ She sniffed, and I reached back and grabbed a napkin from the table and have it to her ‘Thank you’
