“Shoot” She said as she started rinsing my hair
“If you’re a princess then how come you cut hair?”
I thought my question would upset her but she simply laughed.
“I love being a hairdresser” She told me “Queen Kara took me to one as a kid just after my mother died and I fell in love but it took alot of convincing to get uncle Theo on board, in the end we compromised, I can only work part time at my salon because I still have to do my royal duties but it was worth it, I prefer the salon to the politics of court”
“I am sorry you lost your mother”
“It was a long time ago” She shrugged but I could hear the pain in her voice.
“What about your dad?” I asked ‘Where is he, what’s his name, the twins only mentioned him once”
“Sit up for me please” She said as she began to wrap a towel around my shoulders to prevent them getting wet
After I was in a sitting position again, Ever grabbed a hairdryer.
“My father’s name is Fenrir” She told me and turned on the hairdryer.
I looked at her face in the mirror, she seemed upset, she mustn’t have a close relationship to her father, I made a mental note not to mention him again.
Over the next 20 minutes, Evet cut and styled my hair, as well as educated me on various products before filling up a bag full of items she said I’d need, I didn’t realise Koda insane generosity was a family trait, I’d never live long enough to use all of these products.
Koda walked back in as Evet was running the brush through my hair once more to show me another way of styling it and he smiled at me, making butterflies erupt in my stomach
“Much better, she looks stunning” He gushed and I looked down shyly “You did a great job”
“You say that like you doubted my skills?” Evet glared at Koda
“Me, never” He joked
“Yeah right’ Evet rolled her eyes “All done, hon”
“Thank you” I said as I got off the chair and stretched a little
“Can you do her ears too’ Koda asked and pulled out the earings the twins had gifted me.
“Sure” Evet took the earings and walked over to a chair and patted it “Come take a seat”
Koda and I walked over and I sat down at another chair in the back of the salon and I pulled my hair back so it wouldn’t be in the way.
“So we use silver needles” She told me “It’ll stop the holes from closing over but it will hurt”
“Ok”
“Are you ready Maddie?” She asked as she lifted a gold gun like object
“I guess”
“Thats the spirit” Koda smirked as Evet put the gun gun up to my left ear
“Just take a deep breath” Evet ordered “And on, one.. two.. three”
Evet pressed the gun and I felt a slight stinging in my ears but Koda held my hand for comfort as she moved on to the next ear and punctured it as well.
“So this cream needs to be applied at least once a day for a week to stop the silver from damaging your ears” Evet told me and passed over a small white tub that Koda put into his pocket.
“Thanks Evy” Koda hugged his cousin
“Thank you”
“Anytime’ She smiled at me ‘And some day soon we need to have lunch and get to know each other a little better, plus, I have all the embarrassing stories of the twins that I’m sure you’d love to hear about”
“And on that note, were leaving” Koda laughed and dragged me from the salon
“Are we going home now?” I asked eagerly
Koda smiled at me “Im glad you called it home” He said happily “And yes, we’ll head back, unless there’s something else you wanted?”
“No” I said instantly “I have shopped enough for two life times”
Koda laughed again and kissed my hand as we finally and mercifully left the mall and got onto the car that was waiting.
JAXSON’S POV
I was so jealous that Koda got to spend the first day with our mate, stupid bet, even Knox was grumpy at me for accepting the challenge, although, technically, it was already my day to work, but still..
At least tomorrow I only had to go to the morning meeting, and then I’d swap with him and get her all to myself.
“Good morning Alpha” One of the receptionists said from the dark wooden desk in the lobby.
“Jane” I greeted her but walked on, without a second glance.
Jane had been trying her luck with me for months now, but I wasn’t interested before I met my mate and I certainly wasn’t interested now.
She was a pretty girl with bright red hair and a few little freckles over her creamy white skin, but she was nothing compared to Madelyn.
I really couldn’t believe how much my mate turned me on, it was true agony not scr*wing her last night.
‘Jaxs!’ I heard my name called out and turned to see Cole, mine and Koda’s Beta.
Cole was tall for a Beta, coming up to my shoulder, but his family did come from an Alpha line. His cousin was the head Alpha for the Tanis pack by the border of our territory.
Cole often wore his black hair in braids and a pin striped suit that matched his black skin nicely. He preferred to dress casually, but my father never allowed anyone in the offices without a suit. Even Koda hated that rule and often tried to get away with not wearing one.
We’d known each other since we were children, and we were extremely thrilled when he won the title to be our head Beta
Koda had asked our father if we could just pick him because he was the only one we actually trusted but our father wouldn’t allow it, tradition had to be upheld.
‘Hey’ I greeted him but he pulled me onto a hug and slapped my back
‘Congrats man!’ He gushed ‘I heard you found your girl!’
I smiled at the mention of my mate ‘Yeah’ I nodded ‘Her names is Madelyn, and she is perfect’
‘When can I meet her?’
‘I’ll introduce you at the club tonight’ I told him ‘Koda and I will bring her out’
