Chapter 39 – Shadowed Bond with Her Alpha

“Oh. I’m sorry your highness, I didn’t realize who you were. Please give me a moment and I will get the principal. He handles all of the royal registrations.” She says getting up from her chair too fast and knocking it over. I hear her mumble under her breath some profanities. I hear Fen in my head laughing hysterically.

“She just about pissed herself when she realized who we are!” She screams at me, still laughing. It was funny, but it wasn’t that funny. I look over and see Maleena trying not to laugh. Her face is red and her lips look like she is about to burst. I reach over and smack her arm a little and she starts laughing. Trying to be quiet about it but not succeeding. I just shake my head and chuckle to myself. We stood there for 10 minutes waiting for the lady to come back.

“Why is it taking so long?” Maleena whispers out loud.

“Maybe she had to change before she talked with the principal. She had to wash up.” I say, cracking a smile. Malenna starts laughing and then the lady comes back with a nervous smile on her face. There is a middle aged man following behind her.

“Your Highness, I am principal Gradolf.” He says bowing.

“It is a pleasure to meet you. I am LeeAca and this is my sister Maleena. I need to enroll her in school,” I say stretching out my hand for a handshake. He looks perplexed but grabs my hand anyway. Then Maleena shakes his hand.

“It’s nice to meet you principal Gradolf.” She says being polite. We follow him to his office and sit down on two chairs in front of his desk. He smiles then hands me and Maleena a schedule. That must be why it took longer. He was getting her schedule already made up for us. How did he know she was a senior?

“My apologies for taking so long to greet you. I took the opportunity to call the Green River High School to talk with them to get details about Maleena’s school history.” He says almost reading my mind.

“If you take a look at the schedule you will see that everything is planned out for you already.” He says pointing to the schedule in our hands. I look at the schedule and see a bunch of Luna classes on there. Luna training 101, Luna History, Proper etiquette, Speech, Psychology. Weird.

“Luna classes?” I ask in confusion.

“Yes. Since you are queen, it is suspected that she will mate with an alpha, chosen or fated. It will also give her an opportunity to learn royal etiquette for functions.” He says.

I look over to Maleena and see her nose is scrunched up in dislike. She likes to train.

“What about warrior training?” I ask and Gradolf looked surprised. He cleared his throat clearly uncomfortable.

“That is a whole other schedule. We have a schedule for each speciality. Luna, Warrior, Business, Culinary, Maid, ect.” He says. I nod my head in understanding.

“Could you print off the typical warrior schedule please?” I ask. I feel his aggravation seep through a little.

“Of course.” He says with a forced smile. He quickly prints off the schedule and hands it to me.

I look at it to see Warrior History, Proper warrior etiquette, Warrior training, Psychology, and interrogation techniques. I handed the schedule to Maleena and her face lifts. She likes this one better.

“Could we possibly combine the two schedules?” I ask and his emotions are heightened to irritated.

“It would take a lot of work to reconfigure the schedule.” He says. I took the two schedules and studied them closely. I don’t really understand why they have two different histories for each subject. I take a pen and start circling classes Warrior training,Warrior history, proper Luna etiquettes, Psycology, speech, and interrogation techniques. They all are interchangeable with other classes for the most part. I handed him back the schedule that I wrote on.

“There. It is all planned. Will there be a problem getting her scheduled into each of those classes?” I asked. Even though I knew he would not say no.

“There will be no problem, your highness.” He says entering all the information into the computer. He prints out another schedule and hands it to me. I look at it and nod, then hand it to Maleena. She smiles and thanks him. Another student knocks on the door and the principal gets up to open it. She is short in stature and has dark red hair. She looks like Redna, but younger.

“Maleena, this is Gennevive. She is here to give you a tour of the school.” He says. Maleena gets up and leaves with Gennevive. I get up to leave when the principal speaks up.”Your highness. If I may be so bold as to ask why you wish for Maleena to take warrior classes?” He asks, feeling curious. I turn around and look at him.

“Every person should know the basics to survive if they find themselves in a compromising position, as well as defending the pack. If you think about the other classes, Luna’s should learn how to read when people are lying, they should learn more than just luna history to become more educated and appreciate their warriors more. There are a lot of links between Luna’s and warrior’s, they should be combined to ensure the other understands at least the basics. If not, both sides are ignorant to what the other does. This will develop a strain of disrespect.” I say as he lets my words sink in. His eyebrows shoot up like he has an idea.

“I completely agree, you are right! If a warrior thinks all a Luna does is sit around breeding pups they will not see as much value in her. If a Luna thinks a warrior only uses brute force there will not be as much respect for them.” He says, understanding my point.

“That is true for all career fields as well. There should be a combination of all. This will ensure fair treatment of all wolves. Not many people respect the culinary artists, but without them we wouldn’t have good food and the same goes for all other specialties.” I say and his eyes get even bigger.

“Would you be an advocate for this change?” He asks.

“What change specifically?” I ask, so I know what I am getting into.

“The mixing of schedules and classes to ensure there is respect and no divide between specialties.” He says anxiously.

“Of course.” I say, putting a smile on my face.

“Great!” He all but yells.

“If you need any help with it, let me know.” I say as I reach out to shake his hand again. He grabs it and puts his other hand on top of mine to show the respect and thankfulness he has.

I smile and put my hand on his other. I nod and let go. He does the same.
