I understood why he said it , only James would know the pain he was feeling now to leave Eden behind , but he had a duty to his pack and to his family . I g*****d , rolling over to my side and opened my eyes . I squinted at the blinding sun.The hot sand stinging my back.

Memories of the night flashed before my eyes , my body froze as I felt all the b***d drain from my face , my heart clenching painfully in my chest .

My eyes scanned my surroundings desperately , my heart stopped altogether as my gaze fell on the body a few feet away from me .
Lucy was sprawled out on the sand , completely motionless . I couldn’t breathe , couldn’t think clearly , couldn’t even bring myself to stand .
As soon as my feet could function once again , I rushed to her side , dropping on my knees before her . I gently placed my palm against her forehead to check her temperature .

She was burning up. I scanned our surroundings once again, I couldn’t keep her here under the hot sun , needed to find some sort of shelter for her immediately .
I gently picked her up , cradling her against my chest before I rushed into the woods . She g*****d against me and I shifted her in my arms so I could get a better look at her face , her lips were dry from the fever , her eyes still closed . The fever seemed to be getting worse by the minute , making it hard for me to focus on anything but cooling her body down , I continued to race through the forest , only stopping when I spotted a river nearby .I gently laid her down , tearing a piece of my vest as I quickly soaked it into the water and placed it onto her forehead .
After leaving it there for a few minutes I gently removed the cloth and replaced it with my hand .

The fever wasn’t f*****g going down. I removed the vest completely , almost ripping it off my chest impatiently and shoved it into the water . I swallowed as I slowly begun to wipe her body , starting from her neck and running the cloth slowly down her chest . My breath hitched as I neared her breasts , the reminder of having them within my reach made it hard to think clearly , my hands craving to hold them once again , aching to caress the soft buds , my throat tightened as I once again fought to think straight .

Lucy’s lips parted ,as she reached for my hands one more time and before I had time to react shoved it between her legs . My breath hitched as it came in contact with her soaking wet panties .
