“I don’t know, Brittany saw me and followed me into the restroom. She, and her friends, were waiting for me to come out, so I texted you. She didn’t say why she followed me in, but they weren’t there to use the facilities.” I told her.
“Bree is the strongest of all of us girls, so she wanted to come in and get you, just in case, she waved us on that she had it, so we came to get in line” I looked at Bree and nodded to her. “Thank you! They were making me nervous” I told Bree.
Bree nods and says “Anytime Jade, but you might want to have Brax start working on your hand to hand now, you have got to learn to spar, and then you won’t worry about those girls again. They are mouthy and mean, but they aren’t fighters. When you become more confident in your abilities, you won’t give them another thought. Now, Ashley is a problem, and she has been an elite warrior for 5 years. She will be able to fight, so you really need to start sparring ASAP, because you will be seeing her in about a week, and she holds grudges”.
“Ok, I will mention it. I know I need to learn to fight, I am just nervous because I haven’t ever fought before. I am willing to learn though, Eric and Jeremy showing up last Saturday scared the crap out of me and I worry about being alone
“Jade, if it is ok with you. I know that Bree, Nicole, and I can start sparring with you. It can only help you, and you will need to be able to protect yourself against men too, so you can start with them and then move up to me, then Brax and Mason to learn how to fight. You won’t let the mouthy princess get to you after that. You are learning quickly, and Brax says you are a natural-born fighter” Dixon tells me.
“Sure Dixon, we can start doing that next week,” I tell him. “That is an excellent idea”. I like that I will get to see even more of my friends and get to be better at defending myself.
I hug them all goodbye before I get into my Jeep. I am going to miss them so much, but I am pumped to see my family as well as visit my dad’s pack. I plug the address into Google Maps and follow the directions to get to the highway heading to Sedona. Since it is almost a straight shot, I exit Google Maps, start streaming my music and relax behind the wheel. I have my baseball cap on, and my hair tucked up underneath it as I roll towards Dark Moon. It is just now 3 pm and I am making good time. I should be there by 5 pm, in time for dinner. I keep an eye on the traffic in front of, and behind me, as this is my first time going such a distance alone. I don’t need to stop as I filled up my water bottle and used the restroom before I left school. I locked my purse and my backpack up with my duffle bag in the storage area, just in case. As I approach the Sedona exit, I notice that a dark SUV that got on at Chandler with me and stayed back about a mile was also exiting the same off-ramp with me. I knew I was nearing my off-ramp a few miles back, so I had already pulled the address up for Dark Moon and was about 8 miles away from it. As they made a turn for turn with me, I called Tyler on his cell phone. He answered immediately and ask if I was at Dark Moon yet.
I told him, “No, not yet Tyler, there is an SUV about 3 cars behind me that have followed me from Chandler to Sedona. They got off the highway with me and every time I turn, they turn. I am starting to get scared”.
“Tate go ahead and grab Travis and come out to the Jeep now, someone is following Jade. We are heading to the gate, where are you right now Jade?” Tyler asks me.
“Google maps says I am 5 miles away right now,” I told Tyler.
“Keep normally driving Jade, and don’t let them know that you see them behind you. We are leaving right now and heading to you. I will let the Warriors at the gate know to open the gate when they see your Jeep, just drive on through and stop, we will meet you there. We are in our Jeep now and heading to the gate right now. Do not worry, we will see you soon” Tyler tells me.
I try to relax and follow the directions I get from Google maps; the SUV is now 2 cars behind me as one of the other vehicles has turned off. I don’t make it obvious that I am keeping an eye out for them as I am wearing my sunglass that Tate got for me so they cannot see my eyes. I love my glasses and he got me a smaller version of what he has, black-on-black Aviators, I look good in them, like a total badass, even if I don’t feel like one. I pull off the main road and take the blacktop towards the pack gates, with them making that turn as well, they are totally following me, I speed up and go over the hill as I don’t know how far I need to go before I can see the gate for Dark Moon, they speed up as well and I start to get even more scared. Thank the Goddess that when I top the hill, I see the gate about a mile from where I am. I go ahead and speed up a little more and honk so the Guards will notice me and open the gate. I notice that the gate is opening, and I slow down to enter, stopping about 40 feet on the other side of the gate. I get out of my Jeep and see that the Guards had closed it after I came through it, and I see a black Jeep coming from further in the pack lands and see my brothers in the front seats. I start heading for the guard’s booth because I want to know who was following me. My brothers pull up and park sideways near the gate and they jump out with a third man who had been in the back and head for the Gate. I follow along behind them and see four people getting out of the SUV. Eric was driving, with Jeremy in the passenger seat, and Danica and Sophia getting out of the back seats. What in the Hell are they doing here?
Tyler calls out to them “What are you doing on our lands? You have no business here at all, you need to leave right now”.
“We are here for Jade; she needs to come back with us. Her parents insist on her return”. Eric calls out to us.
