Life’s Spiced Up with Some Werewolf Reads

Chapter 42 – Belladonna The Rejected Luna

“We don’t have an orphanage.” She looked at Patrick as she stood up once more.

“No,” Aston stated, but I do have a four bedroom house available.

She nodded I can bunk in with them.

Bell stated Likely they’ll need a doctor on hand 24/7 for the moment.

I’m good with children, and so is Whit.

It’ll be good for them to see a child that’s a little older, who’s happy and healthy, moving about freely I’d appreciate that Aston nodded I’ll let Mala know, she has met them already, off to check that house herself right this minute.

Bella nodded Whit and I don’t need much, hell likely be happy sharing with the boys.

Alright, though go and talk to him first, before I commit you to that decision.

She nodded, and they all walked to the pack hospital, though the youngest one started to cry at seeing other wolves about, and Bella could smell the fear coming off of her.

She sank down and rolled her Lunas Calm at the little girl until she settled, then pick her up.

Bella understood why she was there, to help keep the children calm and be their doctor as well.

Mala was out looking at accommodation for the children.

There were half a dozen Luna rank wolves inside this pack, and all of them could use their Luna Calm.

It came in handy at times when Mala couldn’t be everywhere at once.

Like right now, Aston was building trust with the children, as was Bella, and Mala was doing the Lunas job of checking suitable accommodation.

Having many previously Luna ranked wolves also meant that Mala could be out there fighting, and Bella would be in the packhouse projecting calm over the children under the lockdown.

It was her in the packhouse because she had that aversion to fighting, all the other Lunas inside the pack, trained, due to the lives that they’d led.

Which she’d found were far worse than what she had experienced.

Bella kind of looked at her life with Parker as a blessing now, the way he’d treated her was decent, compared to the stories of other she wolves.

The beatings and abuse other she wolves got that had been sold off as Chosen Mates.

She might have been sold to Parker.

But her life had been normal compared to others.

He’d marked and mated her, nicely and not by force, treated her indifferently but also been respectful, never once harmed her, or struck her, beaten or punished her, certainly never brutalised her.

He was not a cruel, sadistic man, and she’d been given a proper pack life to live, been his actual Luna, attended to all those duties, and been allowed to attain her degree, and he’d let her work as she wanted, she now realised.

Never even once forced himself on her, didn’t have to, she’d enjoyed the s * x, still missed it sometimes, though Reed was good in bed.

There were no sparks of a Mate Bond.

Parker was never a selfish man in her bed, he liked knowing he could please her, wanted to.

Her life, though she’d thought of it as being a slave to him, she now understood, was not that at all.

Not when some of these women had tales of actual brutality and chained servitude.

Alpha Patrick gave her their files after they were all settled, and she sat down in her office to read through them.

She hated reading some of the things in those files but needed their history to know how to handle them.

She and Cody sat in her office and conversed about their state.

Deciding together doctor to therapist what was likely going to be the best action to take for now.

She collected Whit from school that afternoon and walked him to the pack hospital as she told him about the children, and he’d stared up at her with a frown on his face; he looked just like Parker when he did that.

She had to shake it off.

She told him that she’d offered the children to live with her and him until they were settled and could be rehoused.

Like brothers and sisters? he asked after a minute.

Yes, I guess like that.

She nodded What do you think? I’m okay with that, will have others to play with at home.

He smiled.

Bella chuckled, Yes, but you have to remember they might not want that right away, they could lash out in anger and fear.

Might not be comfortable with you just going up to them and wanting to play the way you do with Chance, Benny and Bellamy.

You’ll have to have patience and be gentle.

He nodded.

She nodded and walked him into the hospital ward where the six children, four girls and two boys, were all in one room.

He would likely make for a very good Alpha one day, she thought to herself.

Liked other wolves, and got along with everyone, wanted to help them.

A very Alpha thing to do.

Bella introduced them to him but kept it brief.

Both Patrick and Aston were still sitting in the room, chatting casually.

The children were used to Patrick, likely bonded to him from their time inside the council grounds, why he had brought them up here.

Seeing him getting along with their new Alpha was why he’d not left the pack, showing them they could trust Aston.

Whit, how have you been? Patrick smiled at him as he came into the room.

Hi, Alpha Patrick.

Whit smiled right back at him.

Good, I like it here.

she watched him greet Aston in much the same way, then walked over to them as Aston asked him how his day at school had been.

She knew it was to show those six children he wasn’t a scary, mean Alpha, that he wouldn’t hurt them.

She smiled and left the ward; Whit would talk to both Alphas and the kids if they wanted him to.

He was a good kid, happy all the time, well mannered and would have, she thought, been a good Heir to his fathers pack, not that he had that to look forward to.

There was nothing for him to inherit.

She greeted Mala as she strolled into the hospital trailing all four of her children, Chance, Flyn, Malik and Joy.

She smiled, greeting the children.

And they all laughed at her, liked the term pups, thought it was funny.

How’s it going in there? Mala asked.

Slowly, Whits is in there, happy for us to take them all in. she smiled.
