I liked Brice, he was in charge of the crown’s wealth and always bickering with Koda who liked to spend money, especially when he wanted to design a new building for the city, which resulted in me having to be in the middle alot.
“I believe she only accepted the princes’s to gain more power, as I said, she is troubled” Troy went on with fake concern in his tone “I am sure you have noticed it by now Alpha Jaxson, she isn’t normal and will not make a good Queen, she is better off with me”
I growled, I’d exhausted my patience “THE ONLY ISSUE WITH MY MATE IS HER BEING AFRAID OF HER OWN SHADOW!” I stood up “AND IT’S BECAUSE OF YOU AND ALL THE ABUSE YOU PUT HER THROUGH, WHAT EXACTLY DO YOU THINK WILL HAPPEN HERE TODAY? THAT I WILL PACK UP MY GIRL AND HAND HER BACK TO YOU? I DO NOT CARE WHAT THE COUNCIL SAY, KODA AND I WILL NEVER GIVE HER BACK TO YOU!’
“JACKSON!” My father shouted and I stepped away from Troy
“It’s very clear that she has already convinced you of her lies” Troy said and tisked sadly
“I am warning you Troy” I growled “Do not push me, Madelyn is mine and Koda’s and I will not tolerate calling her a liar’
“If you want the girl then why haven’t you marked her?” Troy asked.
“WHEN I MARK MY MATE IS NONE OF YOUR F*CKING BUSINESS!”
“Jackson calm down” My mother ordered
‘This whole thing is cr*p, I suspect that the only reason he came here today was to try and defame my mate” I went on angrily ‘You couldn’t have actually thought the council would side with you, especially when they realize that the treaty wasn’t broken. But as I’ve said, Koda and I will never give her up, we don’t care what the council decide”
“Jaxson sit back down” My mother ordered, and I glared once more at Troy before taking my seat
“Do you have anything else to add?” My father asked in a bored tone?
“Just that I hope you will do the right thing your majesty” Troy turned and bowed his head “Madelyn needs a safe place without too much pressure. The crown would break her fragile mental state and I believe she will heal and thrive with Scott, who after all was her true mate. The Princes’s are her second chance mates. Has anyone wondered where their true mate is, what will happen when they meet her, I can only imagine what poor Madelyn would do”
“That’s an interesting theory” My father commented. I was angry for a moment, but then he continued, and I relaxed “However, you seem to forget that we are not werewolves, we are Lycan’s. We do not get second chance mates unless our true mate dies which means that Madelyn is their true mate. I don’t know why the goddess matched her with your son first but I suspect it was to humble him through the rejection. From what I have seen, he could use it. You have raised your son to have ideas of grandeur higher than his station, he is a werewolf and not a Lycan like Madelyn, she belongs with my sons and that is where she will stay”
I enjoyed watching the smug look on Troy’s face fade
“However” My father continued “The accusations of her mental state are not something we should not take lightly”
“WHAT!” I shouted look over at my father “HE IS LYING!”
“SHUT UP!” My father shouted, and I exhaled in rage “If she really is mentally unstable, then it is clear that the girl has been traumatized”
Oh, so that’s what he was doing. I felt guilty for doubting my father.
“Madelyn is going to speak with us tomorrow morning” My father went on “And she will tell us the truth about her treatment at your hands and if it turns out that you and your family have been hurting her, then your punishment will be more severe than I was already planning”
“Excuse me your majesty?” Troy asked in confusion and I smiled again “More sever?”
“You kept a Lycan against her will and did not inform us you had found her” He answered, and my mother smirked a little “You even had the nerve to use her as a slave”
“The girl was a maid, nothing more” Troy interrupted and waved his hand dismissively.
“We will see when Madelyn speaks with us” My mother shrugged “Now, if that is all, you may go”
“Thank you for your time your Majesty’s” Troy bowed again and spun in a huff before marching out.
“We’ll never get the stench of werewolves out of here’ Ryker complained “What a delusional mutt”
“You believe he is lying about the girl?” Jordan asked.
“LUNA!” I corrected angrily “NOT GIRL!”
“Yes” My mother interrupted us “We do believe he is lying, I’ve spoken with Madelyn. She is a sweet child, but it is very clear that she has been abused, though she is quite good at hiding it, and we believe Troy and his son are responsible. I agree with my son, Troy knew we’d never side with his claim that the twins broke the treaty. He hoped to turn us against Madelyn which would result in him getting her back. What we need to find out is why he really wants her”
“Has Madelyn mentioned why?” My father asked, and I thought he seemed a little nervous. Did he know something I didn’t?
“Not really” I shrugged ‘She is still getting comfortable with us but I know there’s something beyond his id*ot son missing his mate. The boy wanted her as a mistress. He never cared about her, she was just an object to him”
“Does she have powers?” My father asked
“Yes”
My father’s eyes widened, and he looked at my mother. Why was he so shocked about this, most Lycan’s have powers.
“Why does that bother you?” I asked
“It doesn’t” My father said quickly “We have wasted enough time this morning on this issue,. Let’s begin the offical meeting”
I frowned at my father, what the h*ll was he keeping from us?
We all left the throne room two hours later and when I turned the corner, I saw Troy standing by a painting of my parents from their coronation day with his arms crossed. He’d clearly stuck around for a purpose, but I ignored him and walked past when he spoke, big mistake.
“I suppose your painting will be up here soon?”
Cole and I paused “Go on” I ordered, as my hands balled into fists
“You sure?”
“Go”
Cole glared at Troy before walking away, and I walked back over to him. Did he really think I wasn’t going to kill him soon, I’d never met a werewolf with such confidence around a Lycan.
“Yes it will be” I answered “And Madelyn will be right by mine and Koda’s sides”
“You really believe that don’t you boy?”
“Do not call me boy” I warned him “It’s Alpha”
“That’s my title, too, Alpha boy”
I growled in warning, my patience with this pr*ck was running out
“Enjoy your little games now Troy” I told him “But you and your poor excuse of a son will never get my girl, especially not after she tells the council everything you’ve done to her”
Troy looked at me with a confident smile and stepped closer ‘Madelyn won’t say sh*t’ He commented and looked into my eyes ‘I trained my dog well’
Knox and I lost it and I launched at him which I’m sure is what he wanted. It made him look even more like a victim.
I began smashing into his face with my fist and taking great satisfaction with the sound of his skull cracking with each blow until I felt several sets of arms rip me away.
I growled and spun around in the person’s grip and lifted my fist again, but I realized it was Koda and I quickly lowered my hand again and looked over at Madelyn who was standing a few feet away with her hands over her mouth
‘I’m good, get off!’ I shouted at my brother, who let me go
