I know I wouldn’t have been able to do this on my own and I appreciate every single man with me on this journey. We hear a vehicle approaching and I look up to see the familiar black SUV coming towards the gates. We all stand there waiting to see who all gets out of the SUV, and I don’t have to wait long before I hear a nasal voice yelling “Where in hell is that fat bitch? We get a call to meet her at the gate, and she didn’t even show up, what the hell?” from Danica as she walks into view. Eric is right behind her laughing as he approaches.
Sophia and Calvin walk up hand in hand and I hear her say, “Yea, I didn’t think she would actually show up. She doesn’t want to break the bond with Calvin. You know she has had a crush on him for a while now”
“No, I am here”. I call out to them and step up to the gate and see Calvin and Eric’s eyes snap over to me. I see them look me up and down again in disbelief.
“Let’s get this over with shall we. I, Jade Devoe, of the Stone Moon pack hear-by accept your rejection, Calvin Williams, future Beta of the Howling Wolf pack”
Calvin stares at me in shock as he falls to the ground holding his chest and calling out in pain. Sophia and Danica are both looking at me like they have seen a ghost and Eric is looking at me with lust in his eyes, which he does not try to hide, as he moves closer to the gate to approach me.
“Maybe now I can rest comfortably knowing I will never have to feel it when you two morons screw each other. That alone makes this trip completely worth it. You can all kiss my ass. I hope I never see any of you again” I turn around and throw my leg over my bike and lean forward to put my helmet back on and we start our bikes and slowly move out. Tate and then Mason is the last to pull off, as they were watching the Howling Moon members on the other side of the gate for us. I look back and see Calvin looking at me as I ride away and see tears coming out of his eyes. I hear him say “You all told me to reject her, and I didn’t want to, but you all insisted that she would grovel and beg for me back, you just wanted another video. You have all ruined my life and I will never forgive you for it.”
It gives me little joy to know that he did want me, but he allowed others to talk him into making a bad decision and now he was going to have to live with it, and with Sophia. Having her annoying self as a chosen mate, instead of with his true mate, was going to be punishment enough for him as far as I was concerned.
Today showed me how different my life has changed. At Howling Wolf, I could do nothing to please anyone, I was assaulted and made the laughingstock. But now, I am surrounded by people who truly care about me. I had 6 men willing to come, even in potentially dangerous circumstances, to protect me and keep me safe, even at the cost of their own safety. I loved each one of these men and am thankful and grateful for each one of them.
As I head back to Stone Moon, I look forward to getting to spend time with them as we all head to Lake Havasu for Spring Break. We will be loading up both my Jeep and Tyler’s as she drove it to Stone Moon. He had brought their motorcycle trailer that carries their 3 bikes, and how they got them here and Dixon is going to have Mason use our 3 bikes trailer to haul our bikes to Spring Break to the lake. I have nothing but things to look forward to now. Little did I know, how wrong I was. Because apparently, I can’t get that lucky.
I had asked mom and dad if I could come and get the 10-person Pontoon boat to take to Lake Havasu with some of my friends. I omitted that some of my friends were going to be women, as one of those women, Ashley, was one that they can’t stand when I asked to borrow the boat. I kind of implied that they were all Alphas from other packs. My parents were always gracious and didn’t mind me getting it taken out on the lake. I had already told Ashley that I would pick her up at the Guards shack at the gate when I went to leave, and she had hurried off to grab her bag and get to the gate. I know that none of the Guards would be informing my parents, as they don’t want to piss off the soon-to-be Alpha. I was going to use one of the SUVs from the garage to pull it as I couldn’t pull it with my Audi RS5 Sportback, I don’t want anything to happen to my car. I can hear several motorcycles coming up the drive as I complete hooking up the pontoon on the trailer, I raise up to see who had arrived at the packhouse.
I see 6 Ducati’s coming up the driveway with Mason’s new truck behind them pulling an empty bike hauler. I see my brother Dixon’s and Braxton’s bikes in the group and start heading over to them to see who they were with. I really need to get out on a ride with them when I come back to return the pontoon. I nod and wave at Mason as I head over to the group.
“Hey, guys,” I tell them as I approach, “When I bring the pontoon back do you two want to take a ride with me like old times?”
“Maybe, if we have time to” Braxton replies and Dixon shrugs a shoulder but doesn’t respond, and I know I am going to have to build my relationship back up with both Braxton and Dixon.
“Let’s get the bikes loaded guy’s so we can get headed out first thing” I hear a soothing female voice speak out suddenly from behind me and I then smell a sweet musky scent, and I am scared to turn around and see her. We can’t look each other in the eyes, or I won’t stand a chance against the mate pull.
