Chapter 54 – Abandoned Luna Now Untouchable (Cecilia & Sebastian) Novel Free Online by Lila

Deliberately steering the conversation toward the mundane.

Xavien fell silent again.

Carefully, I slipped my hand into my bag and pulled out an old phone. The one Alpha Xavien had seized earlier was new-I kept important data on this older device, so I hadn’t fought to get the new one back.

Instead of calling Alpha Sebastian, I sent my location to Harlow every five minutes. But I had no idea if the messages were getting through.

We drove past an orchard, then spent another hour on a highway, passed through a semi-rural area, then a small town. We kept driving deeper into nowhere until I completely lost track of where we were.

After nearly three hours, it was past 9 PM, and I was silently hoping we’d run out of gas.

Finally, the car sputtered to a halt at the base of a mountain, miles from any sign of civilization. Spring had just begun, and the night air buzzed with insects and the croaking of frogs. Looking out, I saw only darkness, dotted with tiny pinpricks of distant lights.

Was this it? Was he really planning to kill me?

“It’s just us now,” Alpha Xavien said, opening his window and lighting a cigarette. The flickering orange glow revealed his sharply defined, handsome face in intermittent bursts. He took long drags, loosening his tie with one hand and running his black hair back carelessly.

“So, what now?” I asked, exhaling deeply, resigned to whatever was coming next.

He blew smoke rings while studying me. In the dim light, he took in my beauty-the way my nude-colored dress clung to my curves.

Leaning closer, his breath tinged with smoke hot against my face, he murmured, “I think the reason you’re being so heartless toward me is because we don’t have children.”

A cold shiver ran through me. My blood turned ice cold.

Celina

A chilling wave swept through me as Xavien’s true intentions became painfully clear. This wasn’t some innocent misunderstanding-I wasn’t a naive girl anymore. The hunger burning in his eyes, the possessive edge in his voice, all screamed exactly what he wanted.

I recoiled instinctively, desperate to put distance between us, trying to escape the heat of his breath that brushed too close. “Clear the chaos in your mind!” I demanded, my voice sharp.

But before I could move further, he seized my shoulder with a sudden, forceful grip, pulling me toward him without mercy.

“How is this wrong?” His voice dropped to a low growl, thick with possessiveness. “The police won’t interfere with what happens between mates.”

A shiver ran down my spine. My heart pounded wildly against my ribs as I caught the scent of him-smoke, leather, and something darker, more dangerous-too close, too overwhelming.

“I don’t want this!” I snapped, pushing hard against his chest. My palms pressed flat, but it was like trying to shove a brick wall. Still, I fought with every ounce of strength I had.

“Don’t touch me again, Xavien.” My tone was icy, resolute.

He ignored my warning. His arm slid around my waist, pulling me even closer. I turned my face away, jaw clenched tight in disgust.

“Xavien, you absolute bastard,” I spat.

He didn’t flinch at the insult.

“Before, you were all about work,” he murmured near my ear, his breath rough and warm against my skin. “Never wanted kids too soon. Always so careful.”

His voice wasn’t gentle-it was gravelly, like something scraping against bone.

“But tonight, let’s throw caution to the wind. Maybe next month, you’ll be carrying my pup.”

The words hit me like a bucket of ice water poured down my spine. My stomach twisted painfully, my throat suddenly dry as dust.

“Let go of me! Let go!” I shouted, struggling to break free.

The thought of being trapped by a forced pregnancy made my blood run cold, freezing me with fear.

His lips brushed my cheek in a mock tenderness.

“Let’s make a deal,” he said quietly. “If you don’t conceive tonight, I’ll let you go. But if you do… you’ll come back home, where you belong.”

“What?” I stared at him, disbelief and fury flooding my senses.

All composure shattered. I spat at him, venom dripping from every word.

“Go to hell! I’m not making any deal with you! Who gave you the right to decide my fate?”

“Once you’re carrying our pup, you won’t feel this way,” Xavien muttered, flicking his cigarette out the window.

He reached for the seat control, attempting to recline it.

“No!” I shouted, shoving him away with all my might.

He tried to hold on, but I pushed harder, refusing to be subdued.

“Don’t you dare!” I warned.

Suddenly, a voice rang out from outside.

“Hey buddy, this isn’t some back alley-show some respect for the rest of us!”

Xavien froze, turning slightly to shield my disheveled appearance from view, snarling, “Mind your own business!”

The stranger walked away without another word.

Silence descended inside the car.

Seizing the moment, I pushed Xavien off me completely.

My face burned red, my hair was a tangled mess, and my lips throbbed from biting back my pain and anger.

Beneath my skin, humiliation and fury blazed like wildfire.

I glared at him as his fingers reached out again, stretching as if he still held some claim over me.

“Let’s go somewhere else-” he began, voice low and coaxing.

Without hesitation, I slapped him hard.

The sharp crack of my palm against his cheek echoed like a whip.

“You’re disgusting! Shameless!” I spat, my hand stinging from the impact.

“I was blind to ever love you!” My voice trembled-not from weakness, but from the raw fury I refused to contain.

“If I could turn back time,” I hissed, “I’d erase every damn second I ever wasted on you.”

Xavien’s eyes reddened, his jaw clenched tight as if trying to hold himself together.

His pride was shattered, and it showed.

“So now you regret being with me?” he snapped bitterly.

“Too bad. You’re already mine. As long as I don’t let go, you’re not going anywhere.”

His voice shook with desperation, but his words dripped with control.

He couldn’t bear that I no longer feared him.

“You cheated. You lied. You left me alone for months!” I shouted, each word slicing through the air like shards of glass.

“You don’t get to call me yours anymore.”

My chest rose and fell rapidly with each breath, my heart pounding fiercely with rage.

“You lost that right the day you betrayed me.”

The dam inside me finally broke.

Tears streamed down my cheeks, but I didn’t wipe them away.

These weren’t tears of weakness-they were tears of anger and heartbreak.

“I tried,” I whispered hoarsely. “I tried to hold on. But maybe I was the fool for thinking love was enough.”

My voice was hollow and cold, stripped bare of any warmth. Just the raw, painful truth laid bare.

Xavien’s voice cracked, trembling.

“Don’t cry… please, love, don’t cry. I’m sorry. I messed up. I was stupid. I don’t want to lose you.”

His desperate, broken words tumbled out like a futile attempt to patch a dam that had already burst.

I looked at him-really looked.

His eyes glistened with unshed tears. His lips trembled.

But none of it reached me.

I wasn’t numb from pain anymore-I was numb from clarity.
