Life’s Spiced Up with Some Werewolf Reads

Chapter 64 – His Replica Mate

“You’re driving away from the main area,” she observes.

“Yes, the house we’re staying in is in the woods. It’s a cabin, not really a cabin in the traditional sense-more like an upscale cabin. Leo has to stay in the Alpha’s house, so he gave this place to me while I’m here,” I explain.

“Oh, okay,” she replies. Her eyes have been out the window since we started driving, and I get it. She’s taking it all in.

Finally, we reach the cabin, and I park the car.

“You were right, this is definitely an upscale cabin,” she comments.

I remove my seatbelt and turn around, gently tapping Leo awake. He slowly opens his eyes.

“Hey, we’re here,” I tell him.

He stretches, then gets out of the car. We all step out, and as soon as I’m in front of the car, the door to the cabin swings open. My kids come running out, screaming.

“Mummy!!!” they shout in unison, charging towards me. I kneel down, opening my arms wide enough to hug all three of them. The moment they slam into me and I wrap my arms around them, it feels like I can finally breathe again.

“Oh, my babies, I missed you,” I say, peppering kisses all over their faces.

“I missed you too, Mama,” Liam says.

“I missed you more,” Karla adds.

“I missed you, Mama! Did you get us any presents?” Luke asks eagerly.

“Of course I did, but let me get up first, okay?” I tell them. Liam and Luke shift back, but Karla still clings to me, so I have to carry her as I get up.

“Mama, did you find a cure for the children?” she asks. My girl, her heart is so big and caring. She gets that from Leo.

“Not yet, baby, but I’m getting close,” I tell her.

“That’s good,” she says, laying her head on my shoulder. “Yes, it is,” I reply softly.

Leo and Freya step out from behind the car, and the way Luke and Liam’s eyes light up with excitement when they see him makes me think they completely forget I’m even here.

“Boss man!” Liam shouts as he runs to Leo and gives him a hug. Luke, while excited, doesn’t show it as much. He approaches Leo more slowly. I think he’s still skeptical about Leo, being the only one of the three who knows the full truth. He’s trying to protect his heart, and I understand that.

Zoey and Zeo step out of the house and walk towards us, bickering like a married couple. I can’t help but smile.

“Lena, I’m so happy you’re back and safe!” Zoey says as she hugs me.

“Welcome home, Lena,” Zeo says.

“Thank you, Zeo.”

Leo walks up to us with the kids, and Freya follows behind him.

“Zoey,” Leo greets.

“Leonardo,” Zoey responds with a playful snip, and Leo smiles at her.

“Everyone, allow me to introduce you to Freya,” Leo says.

“Hi, it’s so nice to finally meet you all. Leo and Lena have told me so much about you,” Freya says, shaking Zoey and Zeo’s hands.

“Thank you so much for coming to help us, even though our kind doesn’t always have the best relationship,” Zeo says to Freya.

“Well, I don’t subscribe to that kind of hate. Plus, I couldn’t say no to helping my brother,” Freya replies, and both Zoey and Zeo look at each other, clearly confused.

“I don’t understand-brother?” Zeo asks Leo.

“Yes, Freya is my sister,” Leo says.

Alpha Leo’s POV

“I don’t understand. You have a sister, and I don’t know about her. How is that possible?” Zeo asks me.

“You see, you should’ve gotten that gift,” Freya says, and at this moment, I’m thinking I should’ve listened to her and Lena.

“Shut up, Freya,” I tell her, and as I look at both her and Lena, it’s clear they’re holding back their laughter.

“Can we all just go inside so I can explain?” I ask Zeo.

“Fine, let’s do that. Come on, kids, let’s go in,” Zeo replies, and the kids take his hands as he leads them into the house.

I messed up, big time. I was expecting anger from him, but all I saw in his eyes was disappointment and hurt.

“It’s going to be fine. Just explain everything to him. It’s Zeo. He’ll forgive you,” Lena reassures me.

“Say sorry, and he’ll forgive you, boss man,” Karla adds.

“Thank you so much for the advice, sweet girl,” I say, ruffling her hair. She laughs that sweet laugh of hers.

We all walk into the house, and I close the door behind us.

“I’ve got the kids settled in the living room, so we can talk,” Zoey tells Lena.

“Okay, thank you, Zoey,” Lena says, then puts Karla down. Karla runs to the living room to meet her brothers.
