“Fine” Koda pouted “But tonight for sure, that is, if you’re ready?”
I looked up at both of them and nervously nodded “I’m ready”
“You have no idea how happy we are to hear that” Jaxson pulled me in and kissed me again, only letting me go once I was completely breathless
KODA’S POV
“So what’s with you?” I asked through the link once we were in our walk-in “Why were you painting?”
Jax only ever painted when he was upset and attempting to calm down or really happy and seeing as he would have wanted to see Maddie after a whole night apart, the only reason he’d choose not to come visit her straight away had to be because he was p*ssed.
Without a word, my brother reached out his hand so I took it and closed my eyes as the exchanged happened.
I froze as the memories filled my mind and Flynn began to growl furiously inside of me.
I looked up at my brother and pulled my hand free
“So this is why dad cut the meeting short” I surmised “Troy’s dead, we’ll catch him and rip his f*cking heart out!”
“We need to talk to Madelyn about this”
“No, are you mad?!” I snapped “It will only upset her, she needs to come to us in her own time, I want her to open up because she trusts us and not because we confronted her”
“We can’t just f*cking sit on this Koda!” Jax argued “You saw those videos, goddess knows how many other times that b*stard hurt her, she needs to tell us!”
“Don’t you think I want that too?!” I asked as I sat down, this couldn’t be happening, I never imagined my mate would have been subjected to this kind of horror “But we can’t force her to tell us, she needs to feel safe so she will share her life and she’s started opening up, she told us about the scars, she just needs more time”
“Fine” Jax said angrily and pulled on a shirt “I won’t push her but we’re going to have to tell her something, when we get Troy in custody, we’ll kill him so she’s bound to ask questions”
“Let’s just cross that bridge when we get to it” I rubbed my face and stood up “You just go and enjoy your first solo day with her and I’ll handle the Troy situation, hopefully by tonight we’ll have him back”
“You’ll need to speak with mom and dad” Jax told me as I began to dress
We paused for a second when we heard the hairdryer, Maddie must have been dressed already.
“I know” I went back to our conversation “I will let them know why he’s being arrested”
“I hope Scott tries to help his father” Jax smiled “It means we can kill him too”
“You know it was him filming those videos”
“I thought as much”
“Who the hell is this keeper?” I wondered “Maybe he can give us more videos, there might be some of Scott hurting her too and we’ll have all the proof we need to kill him!”
“You’ve got me?” He shrugged “But whoever it is, we owe him”
“Owe him?!” I spat “He obviously knew she was being tortured and he did nothing”
Jax paused and stared at me “I hadn’t thought about that”
“What I want to know is why was Troy hurting her?” I wondered “He kept saying she didn’t follow his orders but what orders?”
“Does it matter?” Jax growled and I shook my head at my brother, the reason mattered “Nothing excuses the abuse”
“I never said it did, I just want to know the reason, Troy could be hiding something important” I went on “And Maddie said the same thing today in the meeting, he hurt her because she disobeyed him”
“I’m surprised she even said no to him” Jax said proudly “She was obviously terrified of him and she still stood her ground, once she’s healed from all of this trauma, she’ll be a strong Queen”
“I hope so” I smiled at the though of her officially being ours “I just want her to be okay and happy”
“We’ll make her happy” My brother said confidently and slapped my back “Hurry up and get dressed, I want to get going”
